I purchased the MetroGold software (only $6), and will upgrade when my MetroGuide v7 gets here. Now, can somebody tell me what the differences are between the City Navigator & MetroGuide software is? What am I missing by not having CN? Thanks. Mark

I'm thinking about buying a version of MetroGuide v7 for NA (DVD) and want to make sure it's compatible with my eTrex Vista C. Thanks.

I don't know that I need the auto-routing features. I'm using it for geocaching, and want the street data primarily. I'll use another (future) GPS to autoroute. I just don't want to plunk down $100+ on software for this, and then need to do the same for the new (future) GPS.

I just got a Vista C (pretty impressed, but haven't been under tree cover much yet), and of course the base maps aren't sufficient. I see a purchase down the line of another Garmin (HCx?) with expandable card capability, but I don't want to plunk down a whole bunch of money for the latest and use my one and only unlock code on the Vista C. I don't need the latest V8/2008, but would want something that I could use to download maps to the Vista C. Which version of City (Select/Navitagor) should I target (MetroGuide even?) If you have a copy to sell me, PM me and let's see what can be done. Thanks. Mark

Here's the reply from Garmin re: antenna differences between quad-helix on 60CSx and the patch antenna inside the Vista HCx: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Thank you for contacting Garmin International, the Vista HCx has a high sensitivity antenna manufactured by Garmin. The quad helix antenna will acquire satellites on the horizon first, where the patch antenna inside the Vista HCx will acquire the satellites directly above first, then the horizon secondly. Both will acquire satellites in denser coverage with the same capability. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I know the receiver would be the same between a 60Csx and Vista HCx, but what about the helix antenna on the 60Csx being better? Does anyone know how the eTrex (with the better receiver) will do with the internal antenna?

I just got a Lowrance iFinder, and when I tried exporting from GSAK to a usr format, and loaded in the file, it all worked, except there were 10 duplicate entries for each waypoint? Why was it doing this?
