  1. I found this link searching for info on putting multiple maps on my 60csx, and I found it very helpful, so I thought I would pass it along. http://www.asiteaboutnothing.net/g_60csx.html
  2. Okay, my daughter, son-in-law and myself are getting 3g iphones today, and I would like to know how those with pc's not a mac are using their 3g's and pc for geocaching I read about sending pdf page to cell phone, but would like to know if that entails alot of work when wanting alot of caches at once. I don't want anyone to get in trouble, by promoting 3rd party apps, just want to know the easiest way to get cache onto 3g phone. TIA
  3. My feeling exactly! I use rechargeable AA and AAA batteries for just everything I own...
  4. Tried this today, but it didn't work, the found icon didn't show up....
  5. Okay, I found it, and set it to prompt, can't wait to try it out... Thanks!
  6. I haven't had my 60csx long enough to know everything about it, so how do I set it to prompedt? I'm sure I could figure this out, but I've been working so much overtime lately, that it would save me much time, than having to look it up in the book. Thanks..
  7. Off road, you mean, when I'm not using CN auto route, or when I'm not in my car?
  8. Before I installed CN on my 60csx it used to show the icon that allowed me to click on found after I reached my cache, but now it doesn't, has this happened to anyone else? Is there something that I clicked on to turn this off? TIA
  9. So far, I'm looking at the Canon 770,($189.99)and the Fuji Fine pix J10($99.00), just want it to take decent pics, and be compact.
  10. Well, I only say inexpensive, because if something happens to it while I'm looking, it won't be such a big deal, but $250 seems like a nice limit to give myself. Thanks everyone for your input, I will start my research for a new camera.
  11. All, good replies, I guess I forgot to say durable......but If I was to put my top 3 needs for a digital camera, it would be, takes awesome pics, compact, and uses rechargeable AA or AAA batteries.
  12. Well, putting together, things I would need on a long geocaching day, and thought I didn't have a digital camera that was compact, so I thought I would ask, which one are alot of you using to take pics of your Geocaching adventures? Thanks, Pat
  13. oic, thanks so much! You loaded the .loc files by checking the boxes and downloading from the search page instead of loading the .gpx file you get from a PQ email or the individual cache page. The .loc files only have co-ordinates and cache name. Jim
  14. I had to reinstall GSAK, but this time, when I loaded up my caches, they show up as a question mark, instead of the traditional cache icon, what did I do wrong? TIA
  15. I'm sorry, I'm sure there is, but I've only been using GSAK to load them to my 60csx and it is able to load more than one at a time.
  16. Well, after I unzip the pq, I open it up in GSAK and filter out what I want for the immediate caches, then I load them into my 60csx from GSAK. You didn't mention what software you had, and what type of gps?
  17. I don't have any problems reading it in the daylight at all, but I used it in my car. I will try to take it outside and see how it does. I use the usb cable from my 60 csx to my netbook to use nroute. I also have had S&T, but still playing with that one on using as an auto route, but so far, nroute is pretty good!
  18. I can't believe how small it is and yes, you can put it in a backpack or purse. I take it to work and don't even realize I have it when I'm carrying it. So far, since I'm farily new to this, I've been looking in places where my car is somewhat near by, but I just left it under some newspapers and no one was the wiser, and it also fits underneath the seat perfect!. It was sweet looking at the hints on GSAK, and using nroute and have a bigger screen than my 60csx. I plan on making a perfect geocaching backpack for those times where I have to go further from my car.
  19. Well, I did alot of research and I wanted a netbook that had XP and the others only had Linux, plus I had read how happy the Aspire One users were, so as soon as I saw this for sale at Costco,(it's like a Sams club), I had to buy it. Actually, it's wanting to take GSAK with me, that had me looking for other solutions besides my ppc. I feel GSAK encompasses everything about Geocaching, and I felt lost without it, not being able to take it with me on my ppc.
  20. I went Geocaching today with my new Aspire Netbook, and Garmin 60 csx and it all worked perfect! Installed nroute on netbook, along with city navigator and GSAK, and I have to admit I really liked the screen size on the Aspire One. I feel the 10 inch screen on the new netbooks are perfect, not too big and not too small. I'm still learning, but feel like I'm finding my perfect paperless geocaching setup. I have a 15 inch Acer laptop, but felt it was too big and bulky to carry around.
  21. Okay, I've set several locations using the coordinates under tools, options, locations in GSAK, but when I click on the particular location it doesn't filter my caches, when I run the macro's like distance etc. Can someone please help me? TIA
  22. Trying to get more organized, so I spend less time in front of my pc and more time finding the cache, so I would like to know for those of you that are using GSAK, which macros you feel make your life easier in finding those caches? TIA
  23. So I installed CN onto my pc, and now I want to know how to install CN onto my 60 csx sd card? TIA
  24. Well I have currently have gpx view, and I'm checked out cachemate somewhat, but neither of those lets you organize your chaches. I want to organize them according to location, so that I'm not viewing all the caches at the same time, trying to figure out which ones are near where I'm going to be. Can I also organize them on my Garmin 60 csx, so that I can group them according to near home, work and where I shop or something like this? I really like the way that I view the info in gpx view, just want to be more organized, because I'm spending so much time, looking at all of them on my ppc. Thanks...
  25. Wanted software for ppc that organizes your cache waypoints and works like GSAK, cause I love that software, and want something like this for my ppc. TIA
