  1. Tab's still around, and I can vouch for EGH drinking them (amazing what he pulls from his pack). The last photos of the Monte Cristo bunch were just last summer. We were all a bit amazed that the photos even turned out, since the disposable camera had an expiration date that was more than a year old and it was just as soggy as the rest of the contents. We dried everything out, replaced log books, added baggies and new contents -- it was fun to be able to help out with one of the oldest caches in the area. Cin
  2. Thanks for posting those photos from the Monte Cristo cache. I've had copies of them too (from when we rescued the cache and Michele had the roll printed), but I've fallen behind on getting images put online. Moun10bike, do you mind if I link to the Monte Cristo photos from the cache page? (the Peanut Butter Brigade adopted the cache) Cin
  3. That would be fun, EGH! We'll let you know what sort of possible dates we come up with. We'll have to work around Pam's visit. Cin
  4. Thanks for the recommendation. I think the Peanut Butter Brigade is going to pull together a special outing to get this cache. It looks like a fun one! Cin
  5. Og, I think it would be awesome if you could take over the Nick Nolte cache. It's a beautiful park, and one of the older caches around -- well worth saving. Like you, I think that moving the cache to a better spot would be a good idea. As Donna said, the PBB unoficially adopted the cache, but we are too far away to really maintain it. We did manage to replace waterlogged items, baggies, etc., last summer. Another cacher in the community replaced the container soon afterward. Obviously, people think it's worth keeping around. Cin
  6. Jeff and I are working on it, and we're partway there. Now, if we can just finish it up tonight and dash out for a quick find... cin
  7. I finally got a chance to look at the web page -- cool! Nice way to keep track of the coins. Oh, and in case Shane was wondering, it all works well with a Mac. cin
  8. So....here's a question for all of you. If I were to purchase every kind of parks' pass there is in Washington (maybe in Oregon too), what would I have? I guess that what I'm asking is just how many different types of park passes are there? Cin
  9. There are several Cache-In-Trash-Out (CITO) events taking place around Washington state this month. Three of them are WSGA events: Inland Empire CITO II (Spokane area) WSGA Ivy Out, Cache In Tree Rescue (Olympia) WSGA -- North End CITO event (Puget Sound chapter) You can see a listing of other Washington CITO events on the Washington cache listings page. Click here to learn more about the Second Annual International CITO Day I hope each of you will attend a nearby CITO event or create a CITO of your own. These are a great way to promote geocaching and geocachers as friends of park systems, plus you get to spend time with fun people. Cindy Cindy Wambeam, a.k.a. 10. I had a wonderful time! Geocaching with friends on a sunny, cool day in the Spring -- does it get any better? Thanks for pulling us all together for this, Janet. I'm glad that we were able to brighten a tough day. Cin
  11. It is a nice day, especially when there's a new evil puzzle cache from Nells! http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=127392 Cin
  12. I'll try to print an extra copy of the PDF file for you tonight. Cin
  13. Hey, doesn't our foray down into the mud to place the Hot Potato travel bug count as an event????? I'm just now getting my pocket query information transferred into the GPS and smarrtphone (paperless caching!), then printing out the PDF files, then making sure my backpack has everything I might possibly need, then going to bed early for my 7am pick-up time! Oh, and I need to print stickers -- augh! But, none of that matters, cuz I'm goin' cachin' in the mornin'!!!!! Cin (who has only gotten one cache in all of March, and has been grumpy and out of sorts all month)
  14. Thanks for the update. I'm chomping at the bit to get out and do some caching! cin
  15. Hey WL, Pepper and I already making our plans for next week. It's going to be a blast! I was just looking at the cache page, but the URL of the route doesn't work for me. I'm getting a page of computer gobbledygook. I know we're meeting up at Tormenting TravisL cache -- are there any other fun & special caches that we'll be hoping to hit? I've only done a few caches in that area, so I'm looking forward to a day of exploring through caching. Cin
  16. Let us know if you're in search of a hike or a trip to a beach....or if you'd like to swing a tentative itinerary by us. There are some really picturesque areas here, and there are enough cachers around that we can help you get to the best spots. cin
  17. There are a few caches near the space needle, although none will be a short walk. Here are two caches to get you started: CWB (Center for Wooden Boats) Kerry Viewpoint (picture postcard view of the city with Mt. Rainier behind) Kerry Viewpoint is on Queen Anne Hill, and there are a few other nice ones in that area. Will you be on foot, using the bus, or driving your own vehicle? cin
  18. In your search for the sublime, are you looking for astonishing beauty or are you more interested in being captivated by the horrible? Do you want totally natural sublime, or an intersection of humans and nature? And....how far are you willing to hike to reach the sublime? There are some awesome views and experiences to have out here, but given the Burkian bent of your request I'm thinking that you probably want more than a nice vista. Cin
  19. Hey, that's a Thursday -- I can do this! Cin
  20. Congrats! What a cool spot to get #200 -- I just have to get over to that area to do some caching soon. Cin
  21. I thought about doing the wading event, since it looks like such a blast, but I'm not really sure what sort of thing I need. Do I get hip waders or Wellingtons? Cin (who lived in the arid regions of Wyoming and New Mexico most of her life, and is feeling water-knowledge-challenged)
  22. Hmmmmm....well, here are my wild, stab-in-the-dark attempts: 394 was the number on your favorite matchbox sportscar? 3 + 9 + 4 = 16, which is the lucky number of your best friend's great aunt? In the year 394, the planets were aligned just perfectly for interstellar communication? 394 was the address of the house where your first crush lived? Okay, I give....anyone else have guesses? Cin

    Finally!

Awesome coin, Pepper. I really like the way the relief on the peppers. I can't wait to see them! cin
  24. Happy Birthday, M.R.! What a cool birthday present; you must be having a great time with your new toy. cin
