  1. I use GMAIL. I set a filter to all caches with that series name in the subject get sent to another folder and not my inbox. My powertrail is "EBBP #" so the Gmail filter is: This means I still get the DNF and other logs. You can also create another profile and adopt the caches over, then only 'watch' the two caches.
  2. In less then 5 weeks, I was in a car for about 13,000 miles. Found less then 100 caches, but over 30 states!
  3. I'll risk the LPC's. Trees are far more dangerous!!! A tree can fall at any time, and you walk by 100's of them going after a cache in the woods!!1! Imagine if this was you:
  4. Only "Found it" logs count as a find. Go back and log a "Found it" on the caches.
  5. Great idea and easy to do. Just auto-post an "announcement" log 2-3 days before the event. Not that it will ever happen. Maybe it will become the norm for event owners to post a reminder.
  6. Ubuntu is an operating system. Are you using Firefox? Chrome? Both work fine. I'm using Ubuntu version "Zorin" on my netbook.
  7. ... because the first climber on the rock would steal the nut. I know, I've hidden some.
  8. Then why even have a feature request area in the thought is they will never work on it? A weekly PQ will not help in the FTF race.
  9. If you plan on more then 100 miles or so your reviewer might want you to have someone in that area to take care of each stage. Otherwise they can be about 12,000 miles apart.
  10. ...and create several notifications based on different locations to suit your area. Problem solved. I would need to set up 4 locations to cover the area. That's 4 for every cache type! That's not "Problem solved" it problem worked around. As a paying member I should be able to use the features in a way that is quick and simple to set up. They had time to play with Souvenirs and add the countdown clock, so it's not like they're too busy to work on the Geocaching part of the website.
  11. I've been using Instant-Notify for awhile, but it's not effective where I live. For me a 10 mile limit is great for North and South (15 minute drive), but even 3 miles West is an hour trip around a huge body of water! I'd love to select different distances for each of the 8 directions. I'd have one set for NW>E>S at 10mi and one SW&W for 3mi. I know the site already has the info listed on the page so it should be an easy feature to add.
  12. I've never seen a large fake rock that looked real. You might want to think about making a large (but hollow) block of cement. It would look like an old foundation to something but still be liftable.
  13. ...So you want this site to be more like Facebook? NO.
  14. Looks like all "S" are becoming "5" I didn't know we used S in the GC number.
  15. NO!! Some thought should be put into placing a cache. Not tossed into a bush and clicking "New Cache" button! Edit: I'm not talking about your caches, I just know what will happen, and a smart phone had a poor GPS with no averaging anyway.
  16. I like the idea. BUT, thing about all the other projects that GS quit halfway. What happened to country Souvenirs?? I only foresee even more drama when Groundspeak adds the "Washington DeLorme Achievement" but never gets around to adding the other states. Either have all the popular challenges ready before making it public or finish the other silly projects first! (Souvenirs, work on Wherigo, etc...)
  17. I found "The Big Chicken" (TB8A6) back in late 2002. It's now in Germany, but still seems to be moving. I only move the Old Style (pre-2004?) tags so it's very rare that I ever move any.
  18. One time My family stopped at a historic sign on the side of the road, about 400 miles from home. I looked over and spotted a film can in the guardrail. Once while walking back to the car after not finding the first part of a 13 stage multi, I found #7, but then couldn't find #9. I've also found 3 caches while letterboxing, but as I was looking for something at the time and both hobbies tend to hide them in the same places I don't count that as stumbled upon. I've also found 20+ letterboxes while caching.
  19. I never called you any of those things in these forums but thanks for accurately posting my remarks made elsewhere. Now it seems that the CO of the Brass Cap Cache has pointed out that you have misquoted his email and it is clear to everyone in Alberta who knows outforthehunt that your character is even more questionable than the evident factors that I pointed out. In fact since outforthehunt has placed caches in other countries there might even be a few international visitors who are not too impressed with your character. Are you a fan of Lenny Bruce or something? Whoa there sunshine There must be a rule somewhere I haven't told any lies. I am not sure how geocachers act in your neck of the woods but bragging about our "stones" and misrepresenting facts are not big selling points. So why did you react that way to my SBA? Did you think that you were demonstrating good manners? A little introspection and you would have been fine, you might have just deleted my log and sent me an email saying "What is your problem, stay off my cache page", did that ever occur to you? Were you having fun? Why did you post a SBA on my cache in the first place? What did you think would happen? I'm not sorry I posted the single SBA on a cache that looked like it had been changed from the time it was grandfathered. I AM sorry I didn't use a Sockpuppet! I posted a screenshot of the email. I was then called a liar and photoshopper. Every moving cache I've seen has a statement in the description that the reviewers have grandfathered the cache, last I knew this one did not. I'm not going to stop posting SBA logs on caches I think need another look from the local reviewer, but from now on I will not use my real account. Congratulations. You just proved Sockpuppet accounts really are needed. As this thread had become a flame war, I will lock it tomorrow morning my time. That way you can't say I just wanted to get the last word in.
  20. GC12444 Branch Out http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=df09ea3e-46f4-4c78-8751-198bd32b8a44 B. You forgot the needless SBA on my cache from this user. And calling me a "Self-centered boor, lacking introspection, lacking manners, infected with smilies."
  21. http://coord.info/GC43F3 It looks to be a place to log your benchmark finds. 14,000 finds but probably only a few hundred different people. I put a SBA and it was deleted, then the owner sent me a nasty email.
  22. The smileys are off center inside the white area of the icon. Not a fan of the new smiley. I guess I will have to keep myself from zooming in to avoid seeing them. They're turning into facebook. Making updates to simple things that could just be left alone. AGREE 100% Every change can and almost always will add new bugs. Why change something that works fine and is so minor that it can't be improved anyway?
  23. The only time multiple Found It logs are needed are for events. Either for the bonus temp caches (silly) or for event pages that are used more then once. I have a few caches logged more then once, but they would never happen with today's guidelines. One was a moving cache, and two others were turned into multi caches later.
  24. Most people don't care what you're doing. I was with a group once going after a nano on a park bench. Most of us were ready to walk away because of someone sitting there reading a paper. One in our group walked up behind the bench and reached under, signed in and put it back. The guy never even looked over!

    Emulator?

Use North AB* CD.EFG... can't fake something that isn't in the programing. This only works if there's something to get numbers off of. I think the Emulator uses sea level so there might be a way to put IF alt=0 THEN exit.
