    Nope, still doesn't work. Thanks so much for bending over backwards trying to help! I had already tried that, as well as getting my web developer buddy to look over the code before I posted the original topic. I'll be more than happy to keep trying whatever, but nothing has worked so far.

     

    Does anyone have an unpublished or archived cache that they could try to reproduce (or not) this "bug" on?

    Added consent checkboxes to do-it-yourself adoption tool

     

    I simply can not find a way to cancel an adoption request.

     

    On the adoption page this looks promising:

    You can also enter the code in order to cancel an existing adoption request.

    ...but submitting the gc code of the cache always results in a page telling that:

     

    -n-i-c-k-n-a-m-e- has already been invited to adopt this listing. Do you wish to cancel?

    'Yes' 'No thanks'

    I assume pressing 'Yes' shuold mean: "Yes I would like to cancel my previous adoption request for this cache to that user". But pressing 'Yes' DOES NOT CANCEL my adoption request, as I'm still not capable to offer that listing to any other account. Also tried the 'No thanks' option, but that doesn't cancel my request either.

     

    As far as I can see, the ONLY way out of the situation right now, is that the other party actually adopts the listing and offers it back to, me for adoption. And not before then would I be able to offer it to someone else. But if and when the other party is an old account that has never been used, then you're stuck. (Until this issue is fixed or an admin cancels the stuck request.)

     

    I hope that I had missed something here, but I'm afraid that's not the case.

    None of the phones I tested on showed this behavior. I've removed the Numeric only tag and will try to get this released today.

    Hi developers,

     

    the recent changes to the WAP interface make it unusable for me. With the built in browser in my NOKIA 2630, I can't "find caches" any longer since it now allows me to enter numbers only in the coordinates field, no dots or blanks as before. So I am not able to insert coordinates any longer. Can you change this back, please? It worked perfectly before.

    (I posted this in a separate topic two days ago, but found this pinned topic now, so I add it here as well.)

     

    I have also noticed this behavior on my Nokia 3110c :) ...not very useful to enter search coordinates rounded to the nearest full degree.

     

    In addition to this, I also noticed that I can't log in. (As the entering of coordinates, also this used to work before on the very same phone.) An invalid user/pass combination gives a proper error message, but my valid combination results in a viewstate error:

    First column of abbreviations are currently found in FindStatGenMapFinland.dat file second is the maakunta and third is new suggestion..if any. Correct if something is wrong. Map suggestion was great.

    Let's not forget what language the majority (> 90 %) of the people on Åland Islands do speak as their first lagnuage. (Hint: it's definitely not finnish.)

    Edit 2: tältä näyttäisi lippu ilman muita värejä kuin sininen ja valkoinen. Kun kerran pilkkua viilataan, niin viilataan sitten kunnolla: finland_flag.gif

     

    Onko tämä nyt pilkunviilausta vai pikseleiden halkomista... Oli miten oli, niin tuossa on selkeästi väärät mittasuhteet. Pikseleitä halkomalla saa ne oikeat, siksi Villen ehdotus näyttää paremmalta.

     

    Mistään en toisaalta löytänyt vaatimusta, että sen kuvan on pakko olla 23x23 pikseliä. Nytkin siinä on 27x27 foorumisoftan oletuskuva. Jossain oli 22x23 vai oliko toisinpäin? Kai se voisi olla myös 18x11, mutta jää ehkä turhan pieneksi silloin. Eli 'äänestän' suurempaa VS tyylistä versiota.

    Havaitsin että tarkkoja maastokarttoja tarjoava palvelu retkikartta.fi on kehittynyt mukavasti kätköilijöitä palvelevaan suuntaan.

     

    Kun valitsee kartan koordinaattijärjestelmäksi WGS-84, voi valita koordinaattien esittämistavan. Ei siis enää tarvitse käväistä kätkökuvauksesta löytyvällä linkillä hakemassa karttapaikasta koordsit muodossa DD.dddd (tai ruveta niitä itse muuntelemaan laskimen avulla mikä ei toki sekään ole kovin vaikeata) vaan voi suoraan valita retkikartan sivulla sen esitystavan DD MM.mmm joka geocaching.comissa on käytössä.

    Desimaaliasteissa olisin kyllä toivonut ainakin viisi desimaalia neljän sijaan. Ehkä jopa kuusi, kun kerran hyväksyy neljä desimaalia minuteissakin DD MM.mmmm.

    I found one more. This time it is the symbol for HAM Radio Geocoins (http://www.geocaching.com/images/WptTypes/776.gif).

    Since nobody owns any of these, probably not a big deal. :blink:

     

    There is at least one cacher who owns one: Team McBink. I found one of their travel bugs and checked their profile. That's why I noticed. I agree, not a big deal, but worth reporting anyway.

     

    Yes, have seen this issue too. (and a couple of those coins as well.) For example the last page (11) of the cache search below, looks a bit odd with the missing icon, that used to work before.

    Mielestäni sinun löytämässä pisteessä on kuoppa 90 metrin käyrän sisällä. Käyrään on piirretty sisäänpäin osoittavat viivan pätkät. Eikös ne tarkoita että sillä puolella käyrää on matalampaa? Retkikartta.fi:ssä tuo näkyy vähän selkeämmin. Viereinen käyrä on 95 m. Siitä ylöspäin seuraava yhtenäisellä viivalla piirretty käyrä olisi 100 metrin paksu viiva, mutta tuossa on ohut viiva.

     

    Juu, selkeästi sisäänpäin osoittavat väkäset tuossa korkeuskäyrässä. Tarkemmin ajatellen: eikö se sisempi korkeuskäyrä pitäisi tuossa tapauksessa olla yhtä korkea kuin se ulompikin? eli 95 m eikä 90 m???

    HUh, Vihannissa on kolme Kivikangasta (montakohan on koko Suomessa..) eikä yhtään Uturinnettä tai sen näköistä paikkaa niiden lähellä. Sen niminen yritys kyllä löytyy. Pieni vinkki?

    Siis: Helsingin luonnonmaan korkein kohta on joko Pohjois-Kivikossa Jakomäen eteläpuolella (ei Jakomäessä)

    Näin minäkin luulin vielä viestiä kirjoittaessani, ennen kun tarkistin missä Jakomäen ja Kivikon kaupunginosien välinen raja oikein kulkee. Ja sitten piti editoida viestiä ja se meni ehkä vähän huolimattomasti...

     

    Olettaisin että puhutaan samasta huipusta, eli siitä mihin Santunkin karttalinkki viittaa. Jakomäki-Kivikko (Suurmetsä-Mellunkylä) raja menee noin sata metriä tämän eteläpuolella. Kivikon puolella raja en löydä edes 60 metrin korkeuskäyrää, mutta 58 metrin käyrä sieltäkin löytyy. Tämä siis kiinteistöviraston sivuilta löytyvällä julkisisella kartalla, jossa on käyrät kahden metrin välein.

     

    Wikilainaus:

    Helsingin korkein luonnollinen kukkula puolestaan sijaitsee Kivikon ulkoilupuiston pohjoisosassa, Porvoonväylän eteläpuolella, luontopolun varrella.

    Helsingin luonnonmaan korkeimmaksi kohdaksi on kaksi ehdokasta, eikä kisa ratkea ennen kuin joku mittaa toisen tarkan korkeuden: Pohjois-Kivikossa Jakomäen eteläpuolella on kalliohuipulla mittapiste 62,5 m mpy. Heikinlaakson kalliolla 62 metrin käyrä ylittyy, mutta koska tarkkaa mittausta ei ole, kukaan ei tiedä kuinka

    Sivustolle merkitsin tuon Jakomäen saamani tiedon mukaan.

     

    Taitaa olla oikea huippu myös Wikipedian mukaan, mutta se siis ei taida olla Jakomäessä vaan Kivikossa, kuten AntSakin yllä totesi. Jakomäessäkin on oma 60+ m huippunsa tuosta puolisen kilometriä pohjoisen. Kivikon huipulle on Karttapaikkassa piirretty 62,5 m korkeuskäyrä ja siellä myös 60 m käyrän rajaama alue on paljon laajempi kuin, vastaavat Jakomäessä tai Heikinlaaksossa.

     

    EDIT: taitaa se olla Jakomäkeä sittenkin.

    Just a possibilty: is the example that you gave (the one with no direction given) directly north or directly south of your home coordinates?
    Good thought, but nope, it isn't directly north or south. Well, at least it's just me. I guess that's a good thing.

    As I guesstimated your home coordinates, it seems that the prblematic cache actually is about to the North. If so, this is a known reported bug. Let's bump it up and see if it gets any attention.

    Eipäs, vaan 1000 mailiin. Ei sekään tosin riitä minnekään sivistyksen pariin pääsemiseksi Suomen antipodista B)

    Jep, on 1000 mailia, mutta ilmeisesti gc.com bugaa, kun hakuympyrä ylittää päivämäärärajan.

    Can you give an example of how to format the URL for a specific set of coordinates? Will be difficult for the developers on staff who cannot speak Finnish. :D

     

    Unfortunately this map service doesn't support linking to spesific coordinates :rolleyes: ...yet. :)

    I'll guess we have to ask the developers at Retkikartta to provide this first.

     

    Sorry if I use this thread for a slightly different subject.

     

    Thanks for providing links to Karttapaikka and Eniro maps for Finnish (including Aland Islands, GC country_id=272) caches. (For some reason this is not the case for additional waypoints???)

    The Eniro maps are quite useful for urban caches. Their website has been modified since the inroduction of these links, so the last part of the url is now redundant.

    This is how the url on gc.com looks now

It could be reduced to this:

    Bug: NullReferenceException in cache search

    Are you sure this is still happening? Lq's link returns 13 caches for me but I do not see an error.

     

    Yes, it is most definitely happenig! As stated above, please try with either a regular (non premium) account or by not logging in at all. Seems to me that the most obvious solution is to remove the adds, until you can figure out where the bug is. My guess is, that some part of the code still assumes that adds should be inserted in different slots of the listing, than what currently is praxis. Now between items 1. & 2. and 14. & 15. of the cahe listing. If I remember correctly, this was different not so long ago.

    Yritin löytää tietoa tarkoittamastani kätköstä, mutta en löytänyt.

     

    Eli:

    Rupean tallentamaan itselleni kansioon kaksoiskappaleita maailmalle lähettämistäni kolikoista. Jotta nuo hallussani olevat kolikot eivät aina olisi omassa listassani mukana, ajattelin perustaa kätkön, esim. nimellä "Pike4:n kolikkokansio". Tallennetut kolikot sijaitsisivat siellä. Kätkölle ei ulkopuolisilla olisi pääsyä.

     

    Onko tällaisen kätkön perustaminen mahdollista/ luvallista? Mikä olisi kätkön muoto? Mysteerikö tosi mysteerisillä faktoilla?

    Juu, et taida olla ihan ensimmäinen, joka on vastaavan idean keksinyt. Mahdollista se ainakin on. Kätkön tyypillä ei oikeastaan ole väliä, kun sitä ei koskaan julkaista, ellei se ole suuren yleisön etsittävissä. Tuollainen informatiivinen nimi on mielestäni varsin suotava.

    It's happening again... no service since 0800 UTC. Not even the wap interface is working this time. Well technically the interface is actually there but apparently without connection to a working database.
