  1. I suspect the GPS has limited internal memory for additional maps, but the fact that they say you can means it can connect to a PC, although you would have to buy a Data Cable. FYI: This comparison chart on TigerGPS shows that you cannot upload maps to the Triton 200. http://www.tigergps.com/magellantriton.html
  2. Thanks for the info, peto_geo. Just so I'm clear in my understanding, does Pocket TOPO will let me see my current position as provided by the GPS on the USGS topo map on the palm? And when you say profile are you talking about an elevation profile that displays the elevation history for a given hike?
  3. I already own a bluetooth capable Zire 72 and TOPO! for my state and I'm thinking of getting a Holux 236 bluetooth gpsr and Pocket TOPO! Anyone out there have any experience with this software? I am wondering if it acts as the interface between the Palm and gps, or if I need any other software. Thanks.
  4. I had a bad reader sent with my Expedition C, and Lowrance was quick to send a new one when I called, but I had also found out a workaround that will let you use any card reader with MapCreate (I've never used the Lowrance reader and have had no problems). Put the memory card into the GPS unit, start it up and go to the following menu to register a card as usable to MapCreate: Menu -> Menu -> Browse MMC Files -> MMC Card Info (button at bottom of screen) -> Create ID File Then you should be able to use that in any card reader on your computer with MapCreate, it will ask you to register it as one of your five allowable cards and you're good to go. This came from Lowrance and they said it will work with any color unit, and it's worked with two cards with mine. Good luck.
  5. It was a normal sale, I think it said "Instant Savings" next to it. I'm not sure what the SKU is, but on the back of the packaging it says SDSDB-1024-A10 above the barcode and 19659 01894 below it. I'm in CA and my father is in MA and we both got the same deal in store. I've got a Lowrance Expedition C, I don't remember if I saw the micro SD's on sale.
  6. Awesome, I was hoping that was the case. Do I need to register the card on the new GPS before I write the maps to it, or were you referring to MapCreate registering it as one of my five cards?
  7. I saw in Staples today they have 1 Gig Sandisk SD cards for $20, no rebates required. At that price I had to buy one for my GPS and one for my camera. Sorry for shamelessly giving them free publicity, but I figured there would be people on here interested.
  8. I have an Expedition C and was thinking about buying an H20 C. Does anyone know if I can use my MapCreate software to create a memory card with maps for the second GPS, or would I have to buy a second copy?
  9. Lowrance Expedition C - I had 9 satellites locked in while at a cache under a huge oak's canopy today. Good to see other Lowrance owners on the board here.
