  1. Is that a public sidewalk? I'm wondering if the lock on the drawer would be an enticement by some that there is something of value inside to steal. I like the idea and the size of it, though.
  2. I think it is best not to place a log is each stage of a multi. Some cachers will get confused and sign the first log, then figure they have found the final, and log the cache as found. Yes, even though it is listed as a multi, it will happen. Keep the log for the final stage only.
  3. The last time I was in the area, I heard someone joking, "Can anything good come out of Gresham?" Now I see that it can, indeed.
  4. Original is getting harder and harder to do.
  5. I have a standard policy of being against anything that involves more forms. Add this to the list.
  6. If I can fit a bag inside - I will use a bag. It's not about the container....its more about the cachers who don't know how to close the containers properly AND don't know how to shut the bags properly either!!! No. It got to do with the containers that sweat! Yes, I see a perfect closed ammo can that sweat and get the log book wet. So a thick bag that close easy is important to have. One thing I hate is PENS in bags. DONT DO THAT! Ignoring! They make holes and harder to close the bag. I stand corrected.
  7. Bags will always leak over time. If it needs a bag, it needs better waterproofing or shouldn't be used as a container. And yes, I have used bags in my caches, but it inevitably only slows the water down. YMMV
  8. Who says it is buried? I agree with "don't bury geocaches", but whatever it is could just be on top of a lock&lock sitting on the ground.
  9. A Topic title of "Question" sure gathers my interest, since who knows what it might be about? Got me on that one!
  10. You might check out O-Ring Warehouse http://www.oringwarehouse.com/ Large variety of sizes, types. The Nitrile material are only 1-2 cents each in the sizes for bisons and matchholders. I've used part #0568-021 for matchholders, and part #0568-012 for bisons (though that is a smidge on the small side for bisons). Don't know for sure how long they last yet, time will tell. For a penny or two each (plus shipping), I figured it was hard to go wrong.
  11. Sooner or later, it will disappear in the wild. It may circulate for a long time, or it might get taken right away. When you leave a geocoin or a travelbug, you have to be prepared for it to disappear. Not nice, but the way it is. At an event, you let other cachers look at the coins, and record the tracking # so they can "discover" them online, but they stay in your possession.
  12. Is this a problem, other than it's nice to have caches to find nearby?
  13. Try x+d+(axb)-(cxf) y+(exg)+(hxj)-i It worked when I tried it, but I didn't recheck.
  14. How long does a "small flat plastic baggie (container) with a log that is slipped between the sign & the post" last before springing a leak?
  15. Just clicked the green "Install" button in the upper right of the screen, and in it goes. Seems to work great for me!
  16. Please just join with the other thread already on topic: http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=290420
  17. Satellite view is ok here, but so INCREDIBLY slow to fill in as to make it almost useless.
  18. "They will also learn, through geocaching, about local electoral issues." Immediate potential red flag for me.
  19. I'm trying to understand why they are listed as "Challenge of the Century"? I was expecting them to need 100 finds of some sort, but they don't. Is this a series of some sort that has nothing to do with 100, but only that you have the current century of the 2000's to get it done?
  20. Sadly, it often happens. On the other hand, some trackables travel for years without problems. You never know...
  21. Please educate me as to what is a "click"?
  22. But look at the publish date: 2007. I doubt it would be allowed today. Not long ago I tried to have a cache in a very similar tunnel, but was denied because it was under a two-lane state highway - much less an Interstate is being asked about here. Not complaining, just noting the age we live in.
