  1. PM sent to Briansnat so he can correct that mistake.
  2. I cache on this and on decent trips, its in this configuration I am off on a roughly 1600km round trip to an event at the end of this month. Next year, a 6-7000km caching trip is planned. A few extra mods have been made since the pics were taken.
  3. Can you "Mark"your current location? If so, do so, then edit the listed coordinates to those that you want to input. Edit the name if you wish, then save. The "GOTO"the name or edited coordinates you have just inputted. This is the way to do it with the Garmin GPS60 series.
  4. Geoswag just released an Australian flag geocoin. I bought 5 of them, but havent seen them yet. They are at home, and I will get to see them when I am next there, around the end of this month. I might be swayed to swap one for one.
  5. Oh, I did forget to mention a 1600km round trip at the end of this month to attend a one day event. To be travelled in 3 days.
  6. Do I qualify because I am planning a 6000+km (3600 mile) caching trip next year by motorbike, with the missus on the back, and have already pencilled in my 2010 holidays based around Australias first mega event- which is about 2000km away. And I recently did 900km in a day to grab 9 caches.
  7. While I wouldnt say I am FTF obsessed, I did recently travel a 900km round trip in one day on my bike to grab 9 caches, 5 of which were FTF's.
  8. I have a series of 17 caches, spread out over a total distance of 600km (360 miles in your language) One cache at each end of the 300km each way journey, and 15 between at various landmarks. The cache at each end is a mystery, and the 15 in between are ordinary caches. Each of the 15 caches has a clue to the final cache- depending on which way you are travelling. I thought originally it would be a pair of multis, but not allowed. It was finally published as 2 mysteries.
  9. I dont have to go caching to have snake encounters. We have Brown, and King Brown snakes all around where I live. We have to warn all newcomers to keep doors closed, despite the hot climate, to keep them out. We tread carefully around here, you even have to check out the kitchens and showers carefully before use to make sure none have taken up residence. Cheers Bundy
  10. It certainly can, and does happen. We had a cacher in our state pass away a couple of months ago. His caches have been formally adopted by another cacher from his area. I dont know the proceedure, just that is did happen.
  11. On a related, but non related topic- The GC forums. Are they supposed to be non political? I was going to email GS about this last night. There seems to be a lot of political threads in the Off Topic section. I know I dont have to read them, especially as how it doesnt affect me directly who wins the upcoming presidential election, but it just seems strange to me that for an organisation that seems to be neutral in its political stance it is allowing political debate on its forums. We have a general rule over here. NEVER talk about religion or politics at a get together- it causes too many dramas.
  12. Sorry, but I wont change my spelling, or language for that matter, regardless what country of origin the forum is based in. Thats the point I was making in my previous post. A spellcheck on Geocaching.com, based on american spelling, would pick up my correct spelling everytime. Turf turtles. About the only concession I do make, is provide an imperial approximate to a metric measure that I may use. The metric comes first, of course.
  13. And if I was to put the above through a spell checker, it would come up with the same word spelled incorrectly twice. Such is life. Unfortunately, it leads to an unwanted americanisation of the english language in other countries.
  14. It doesnt help when the spell checker cant spell correctly.
  15. I have a similar series along the regular 300km (180 mile) route I travel between work and home. 17 caches in all, one at each end of the trip. Each of the 15 caches in between has a clue to each of the 2 end caches. You obtain all the clues from the 15 caches, apply a mathematical equation, that leads to the final cache at the appropriate end. Each of the 15 caches were published as ordinalry caches, and the 2 end ones were published as mystery caches. Each of the 15 intermediate caches takes you to an interesting feature along the route. Cheers Bundy
  16. Then there is this cache of mine. I have been called evil numerous times in the logs. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...y&decrypt=y
  17. I have an M&M container in a drill hole in a granite slab as a cache. I had to remove most of the lid lip to make it fit. I then stuck an unzipped zippytie along its side, extending above the lid, to aid removal of the cache from the hole. For a micro, I have a valve stem off a car wheel, valve removed, drilled out and the log placed where the valve used to live. Replace the valve cap, and glued into a wheel of a car on display on the side of a road.
  18. I will let the comments in the logs tell the story about this cache of mine. Only 1 find since placed in July 2007, and right in the middle of my home town. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...=y&decrypt=
  19. Well, I can make your trip over here worth it. I have another 55 caches within 300km (180 miles) that you could also grab.
  20. This cache of mine has some good comments in the logs. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...=y&decrypt=
  21. 62 finds in 20 hrs, in Brisbane Australia, back in October 2006. That was with my 2 teenage daughters, neither of who could drive at the time, one GPS, and I visited and logged every cache found personally. At times, one or the other of my girls was asleep in the car. For about a month, it stood as the record for the most finds in one 24 hr period for Queensland.
  22. I did exactly that, bought a garmin CSX from the states. Havent bought the mapping software yet, still researching.
  23. Try posting your request here. http://forum.geocaching.com.au/viewforum.p...d359070e0d89952 Cheers Bundy
  24. Its not my caching name- thats my favorite drink. But the first 2 letters of our first names, added together, happens to make a reasonably unusual word that does us well for a password.
  25. You are better off asking here. http://forum.geocaching.com.au/viewforum.p...ae6eaeeae11944e
