I have noticed recently that the Map Quest link is missing from the cache description pages. This is just happening with the newly published ones. Does anyone know what happened? I use the link to map the general area of the cache and then I add a few notes and hints. I print this page out and that's what I take out with me. I am not doing paperless caching because I don't have a PDA that can handle it. I use a Garmin 60csx GPSr.

I usually carry mine on my waistband in a paddle holster. I cover it with a hooded sweatshirt or if it's warm out I sometimes wear a very lightweight running shell to conceal it. If it's hot I sometimes use a fanny pack. I usually carry when I cache because I do it with my two small boys and in secluded places where caches are commonly hidden. I'm in California, but I'm a Police Officer so I can carry a concealed weapon.

The placing of caches is for the enjoyment of all cachers. It seems like the old timers would be happy for something new to hunt for........but that's just my opinion. Cache on!

I found one a few months ago that was a foam rubber dove perched in a tree. It was realistically painted like one of the Mourning Doves that we have many of in this area.

I received my bug a few days ago. I tried to activate it but there was no activation code in the package with it. I don't know how to activate it now.

I am a Police Sergeant and also a geocacher. Police know that often completely innocent activity can look suspicious. Don't sweat it. The best advice I can give is to answer their questions and then explain what geocaching is. They will most likely tell you to have fun and then they will leave. Remember to smile, Police Officers are people too!
