  1. Count us in as we would love to see the caves, but not do it on our own. Geek&Gopher
  2. Welcome Aboard! Once you find your first cache you won't want to stop. I'm a 3 week old newbie and loving it. Great way to spend time in the outdoors which I love to do anyway.

I agree with the rest of the post in regards to GSAK for the computer and Cachemate for a PDA. They are both powerful programs, yet easy and user friendly!

  8. I'm hooked on it too and wish I was there doing it too.
  9. They locked down the name changes effective May 22, 2006. Now about your only choice is to create a new one. I had to do the same thing. You can try and go thru the site admin but I understand it's still pretty difficult to do.
  10. I agree, GSAK is a great product for storing and organizing caches. It's not a very big program, but packed with lots of great features. You can get version 6.2.2 Build 25 off their web site or they just posted version 6.2.3 Build 10 on the web site forum. Hope that helps
  11. I bought a Magellan Explorist 500 from eBay and really like it. It's not too bulky, rugged and best of all it's in full color! I also put in a 1GB SD card so I have lots of space for maps and caches. I've actually gotten as close to 10ft of a cache with it, so it's pretty accurate. I comes with USB 2.0 highspeed cable for fast transfers between pc and the device.

  18. Welcome Aboard! Once you find your first cache you won't want to stop. It gets pretty addicting very easily, but it's a great way to enjoy the outdoors. You also won't have to join a 12 step program for it either. Enjoy yourself
  19. I agree 100% with MarkWell in that Sputnik 57's is great step-by-step, and I think worthy of going into the FAQ at the top of the Getting Started. I am using the GSAK utility and love it and just downloaded and trying out the CacheMate program he suggested for PDA's.

  21. I picked up my Magellan Explorist 500 on eBay and love it. It's not too bulky, rugged, fast USB connection to PC and in full color! I threw in a 1GB SD memory card so I've got lots of space for uploading maps and cache files. I got it for $249 and retails for an average of $349
  22. No images are allowed in signature lines. Ok thanks, I wasn't too sure what all the rules were for making one.
  23. I don't think you can. At least I don't remember seeing one lately, and I just checked the current page in Cheers figuring that if anyone had pictures in their sig lines it would be that crowd and none of the sig lines I saw there had a picture of any kind. Ok thanks, I wasn't too sure what all the rules were for making one.
  24. I'm trying to create my forum signature and want to add a smiley to it. What format do I need to enter it in my profile? Sorry a newbie here....LOL
  25. I've just recently heard about geocaching and thought it sounded like a lot of fun. I love the outdoors and what better way to enjoy the outdoors than doing it geocaching! This is my first post and wanted to say hi to all. I look forward to finding lots of great caches. SpokaneGeoCachers
