  1. I'm using the GPS Spinner and Plucker with Pocket Query .gpx files. When I view the query in geocaching.com it sorts by DISTANCE FROM from where I live which is great. When I get the files into my PDA, Plucker does not offer an option to view by DISTANCE FROM. It offers sorts by cache name, who placed it, by cache type, etc. I'm used to printing out the queries, but now that I've gone paperless, it seems like I'm giving something up with the PDA. I want the caches sorted by DISTANCE FROM. Does anyone have an answer for this.
  2. again, just follow the rules! No need to play devils advocate. WR is as experienced as there is in MA. He set the rules based on his knowledge of the cache site and the surrounding locale. RESPECT the decision, or go find yourself another cache. Very simple, JUST FOLLOW THE RULES!
  3. WR, I would DELETE the log. They were stupid enough to wave their disrespect for your guidelines regarding this cache. As our public official get more paranoid about people walking around with almanacs and gps units, it just makes it harder for us who do respect whatever rules are set forth. I'm sick of everyone doing whatever they want anytime they want. You play by the rules or you don't play. WR you are in charge, put a stop to it!
  4. I encountered some weirdness on 12/27/03 as I was emerging from a geocache find in a Boston park. I was met by a park ranger who had his weapon unholstered and was very, very suspisious of what I was up to. I had all the documentation with me relative to the cache and was trying to explain....he was not interested in what I had to say. I was shocked to say the least. Then yesterday I read about the almanacs, etc. and it then made sense, sort of. My advice is this...make sure you have a printout or something that legitimizes your task. Otherwise urban geocaching will be a very risky sport. As I look back on the experience it was really funny. The guy actually had his hand on his gun ready to use it if necessary.
