Downloaded 2.7 yesterday and like the fact that it gives back the functionality that my Meridian GPS's had for multiple files. Thanks for everyone that figured this out, really makes me like the 40 that much better!

Kinda got my knickers twisted about DeLorme's 2.8 Firmware upgrade for the PN-30/40 series and the POSSIBILITY of having to pay for the upgrade. That has yet to be determined and I jumped the gun and posted my opinion before I thought it thru clearly. I have since changed my opinion on it and will pay for the improvements I will receive from it. I paid for MapSend DirectRoute for my Magellan Meridian when it came out and just a few weeks ago paid for a map update for my Nuvi 205W. Didn't complain about either of those so I haven't the right to bark at DeLorme. With the latest numaps update I got lucky. My numaps onetime card arrived the day 2010.40 came out. Had it came a day earlier I would have gotten 2010.30 and been SOL because I chose when to do the update, Garmin didn't tell me when to do it. That would have been my onetime update that I paid for... Just a hampsters 2 cents worth.

Viewed my maps from GPSFileDepot this am with no issues using that version.

Appreciate the heads up on this. My timing was great! Got my nuMaps Onetime from Amazon.com yesterday and tried to download several times with no success. Waited till this morning about 5:45 Central and all went fine. It took about an hour from start of download till completely finished. I have noticed several changes already. My 205W had NT 2009 map on it before.

Man if I had posted a rant everytime GC changed something since I started caching in 2001 I would have a lot more posts than I have now! Growth is not always painless. Suck it up...

The only difference between the PN-30 and 40 is case color and the 30 lacks electronic compass and altimeter. The PN's come with TOPO 8 so you can install detail maps to the unit.

Got my PN-40 and power kit yesterday. Power kit contained the Li-Ion battery pack, home charger, car charger and a 3 pack of screen savers with a microfiber cleaning cloth. Unit itself came with a set of 2 AA Energizer alkaline batteries and the USB cord.

You said Make Offer so I did. If you wanted a set price why did you not specify that. The reason I want 2 is that I borrowed a friends Gold as I no longer have one. The one I borrowed was lost or stolen so I must replace it. That still leaves the other one for me to use... I figured you may have been busy because of the holiday, that is why I waited till yesterday to bump the thread. Now that we have deemed $75 too low for both would you consider $100 for both? I don't really care about the accessories personally as 1 of the units I will be forced to give away anyway...
