  1. There is no way to make someone drop off a coin at a cache, or to make them return it to you. If they are willing to drop it off, they should be able to say it is in their possession through quoting the serial number on the coin in a Travel Bug log, then they can drop off in a cache found log as normal. Obviously, if they won't drop it off legal action would be an option if you knew who this person was, as it would classify as theft (at least under English and Welsh Law (permanent deprivation)) or conversion (the claim it is there's just because they found it, based on the refusal to return).
  2. I really want to trade a GeoPenguin for a Signal Geocoin if possible. Thanks.

  4. An earlier topic of mine discussed the possibility of producing a penguin themed geocoin. As some of you may know, I made contact with Geocoinstore, and we managed to team up and make the coin! As of now, the coin is available to order directly from them. More information about the coin is available at my webpage for the coin.
  5. Yes, I teamed up with Geocoinstore for production. Do not fear the penguins!
  6. It is linked with the concept that Geocaching is like returning to caveman style hunting. Looking for the treasure... On the Earth
  7. Yes - I think I may do that. If I sequence number them, then they can be tracked on my website!
  8. Oh - nice Not trackable though?
  9. I am looking into a Penguin Geocoin (please don't now steal this idea). As an avid fan of penguins, I think it is a shame that none currently exist not more exist. A problem for me would be funding. I am just checking if there is a demand for such a coin. I would probably produce either 100 or 250. Since I am in the UK, they would be distributed from there. I plan for it to contain a 'caveman' penguin (ie a penguin with club and spotty shorts!), and to say on the back 'Back to the Earth'. If I produced 100 it would cost $607 ($6.07 a coin) inc. tracking, and postage would then have to be added to this for any buyers. This however would mean on the geocaching.com website that it would only be called "Personal Geocoin". 250 would cost $1345 ($5.38 a coin) to make (+P&P for sale) inc. tracking, and this would mean it was called "GeoPenguin" and have a custom icon on geocaching.com. If I went for 250 micro coins (25x2mm instead of 38x3), 250 would cost $1155 ($4.62 a coin) + delivery P&P inc tracking and custom name and icon. If anyone would be interested in such a coin (and seriously be prepared to buy one), please let me know. Also, if someone would want to take on this adventure (I can set up a sales website), I would be happy for this to happen (providing I can get some coins too!). Just let me know. --- Ian I choose the front design because penguins are linked with computers (Tux is the Linux mascot, and this penguin is based on Tux). The caveman effect shows that it is 'hunting'. Basically it is something technology linked that involves hunting in the wild (like Geocaching). Penguins are also found at the south pole - showing how Geocaching reaches everywhere. Clever, huh?
  10. That's how many cache pages have been generated. Many never see the light of day. That would explain the reviewing and publishing system.
  11. I just created my first geocache, and it seems my cache ID is 440000 (http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=440000). Does this mean that there are nearly half a million caches(!) worldwide? Or does it emply some other numbering system? Anyway - anyone in or around the UK is welcome to visit my cache.
