  1. I set up the UK Geocaching photos group a while ago, I don't have the link offhand at the moment, but I'm sure it'll be found on a search. (Cant search for it now, since I'm on a pc thats unable to access flickr) Edit: link is http://flickr.com/groups/cachephotos/
  2. Maps are fine under FF3, I don't maintain the forums script, but may have a hack at it.
  3. As linked to this thread by MrsB, I think I should raise my hand also. I started caching on my own at age 15, now I'm 17, it's tailed off a bit but I still go caching (when I find the time). I've only been caching with my parents once, and that was on a family holiday, (they're not cachers themselves)
  4. I'm not sure what's wrong, the OS website seems to be down, I've been getting error emails about contacting their server for the past few hours.
  5. I've just updated the script at http://grand.edgemaster.googlepages.com/MMExport.zip to include support for Wherigo, maze and mega types. 4 Badgers: Take a look at http://www.dalesinwales.co.uk/MM_icons_how_to.pdf
  6. Mozilla Firefox and Greasemonkey are absolutely required to use this maps script.
  7. The fixed version is now available here. It also now remembers whether the map was last big or small, and defaults to that. Apologies for the late release, this week has been unusually busy for a half term.
  8. The script has an alert update when it actually appears on the page. I'll revise it so it throws a banner up if it can't find the map to replace.
  9. /me waves. Of my own accord. Although my find count is still too small. Exam things get in the way, and a lack of transport/parental support. (although I dont really want it)
  10. I've just been informed that recent site changes have broken the script again. Luckily, half term next week gives me a break from my exams, and I'll be able to work on it then.
  11. Ah, yes, now I've replied here, I can see the links, they look like: Display Mode: Standard, Switch to: Linear+, Switch to: Outline You'll probably have Display Mode: Outline with a switch to: Standard link?
  12. There's a link somewhere near the bottom of forum threads inviting you to view threaded mode, i think you hit this? Try looking around for a standard mode link? THe options on the control panel may help (My Controls link at the top)
  13. I started the self-updater several weeks after the LQ was fully released. I've not yet bothered to go back and fetch all the old logs.
  14. Odd, I'm watching this thread but I've not been emailed recently about it.... wondalfo: I'll release a version that allows you to default to OSM soon. Cassie's Crusaders: I still have no clue what's wrong, sorry, I may try and put together some tests when I'm less busy. But for now, check that there's no adblocker acting against the script's image loading. currykev: Printing the markers is still buggy - due to browser limitations.
  15. Ensure you have Firefox amd the Greasemonkey extension installed.
  16. I've just released version 1.3.1 to fix several minor bugs: Caches on the meridian/equator wouldn't display map. Caches beyond 8° E/W would display in the wrong location on the map. Prevent odd behaviour when loading multiple cache pages at the same time. Add version check to prompt you to update in the future. Cachebust the loaded html page. (Reviewer version for Deci) The updated version can be downloaded from here.
  17. I have an auto-updating stats site here: http://ge.pythonmoo.co.uk/lq/ It may not be fully completed, and some of the earliest finds may not be present in the database. I'm probably missing some of the replacement LQ caches too..
  18. I've just released an update to the server-side portion of the code. New features: Google maps and satellite layers (automatically selected for caches outside of the UK) The position of your mouse is now shown more clearly in the dd mm.mmm format we all know and love. As a byproduct of this release, I also submitted a bug patch to the developers of the mapping library I use, so a bonus for them too! There's no need to do anything, the updates should appear straight away. I'm no closer to tracking down the "Image cannot be displayed" problems, my logs of tile usage suggest that there's no issue yet of the OS throttling us.
  19. Was it saying 'Tile cannot be displayed' by any chance? This happens when the site has outrun it's quota of images from the OS (currently this is set to 30,000 per day), the only option is to wait until midnight to use the main OS layer. I'll start monitoring the tile usage to see if I need to resolve the situation.
  20. The reviewer version was in the pipeline, does Deci use greasemonkey? Should I continue supporting a reviewer version?
  21. I try to stay out of politics, it gets too sticky. But I've been following this issue from afar and am sorry to see it come to this. Thanks for all the effort you've put into geocaching - it's much appreciated.
  22. Yeah, I had this code in the old version, had intended to move it to the server-side portion of the code, to determine what map layer to show based on coordinates. But I kinda forgot... I'll update the server code when I get a chance.
  23. For those techies that know what I'm on about, its might be because the DNS hasn't yet propagated, it should be working fully within the week. JeremyR: Link now fixed. bcnorwich: I'll add this into the next version release. XopherN71: Yes, I'll modify the first post, it also probably doesn't state that it's currently only designed to work with UK caches at the moment, I'll try and get more global support in the next version. Scottpa100: Since the script now (unfortunately) requires a server side page to function (due to OS referrer limitations ), mirroring the greasemonkey part will only solve half of the connection issue. As noted above, it should fix itself soon, hopefully.
