  1. Two? Oh, that'll be scottpa's rehash that was put up as a temp measure whilst the server was having some DNS issues. The first link should be used, and I'd be grateful if mandarin could make that clear in the first post of that thread that the link on edgemaster.geocache.org.uk is always current (I cant edit it)
  2. A quick little script whipped together whilst half asleep: http://grand.edgemaster.googlepages.com/ge...e_fixes.user.js
  3. I put a bit of work into producing some nice county outlines in svg and png formats, ignore what the webpage says about completeness, they're about done. http://grand.edgemaster.googlepages.com/countyborders Also see http://ge.pythonmoo.co.uk/www/BIGQuest/counties.php I've used these svg files to create the LQ finders maps, eg:
  4. For those who cannot live without this in firefox 3, I've patched up the script to work with it again. I've only tested in firefox 3.0.1 with Greasemonkey 0.8.20080609 Install from http://grand.edgemaster.googlepages.com/ge...m_tools.user.js
  5. Hadn't noticed this thread, will try and see whats wrong with the LQ Charts soon.. Turns out the email account it was using for updates had been disabled without me knowing about it It up to date until to about mid-June, I'll have to see what I can do to get the missing logs (although I was already missing the early logs, which is why pklong and others have such low find counts )
  6. I don't know of any, and I honestly don't care about cross-browser compatibility - it opens too many cans of worms, even if not trying to do for userscripts. If there's enough demand, I might consider looking at it, but I have other reasons for not using opera.
  7. Comparing the logs of each cache, it would appear that it disappeared after and appeared before MarkThomas and Mthomas found each cache respectively, going by the occupation listed on the profile, and last visit/registation times, I suggest the accounts belong to the same person, a long-time newbie who's just rediscovered caching? Still, amazing!
  8. I've had an account for several months now, but when I originally signed up I couldn't do anything with it (and was too lazy to try programming something to use it), may have another look at the API soon...
  9. A February camping event sounds like a great idea, Hazel I'd be up for one.
  10. Which technique? Shot or discus? I guess that the hammer would be more suitable for GPSrs on lanyards?
  11. I've been there for ages (although not always active), see my sig!
  12. I mostly wear a pair of lightweight non-branded trousers, primarily so they dry out quickly if it rains. I was quite amazed that they dried within 15mins of being soaked by a heavy downpour.
  13. At the millets in Kingston, the promotion was quite evident. A poster was on display by the door (advertising garmin mostly), and there was also a freestanding display next to the cabinet of Garmin GPSrs, a pile of leaflets was on the counter next to it, and I was handed one (more garmin ads, will scan if anyone wants to see it) when I asked for the coin.
  14. Thanks for that, saves me a wasted trip. Might see you on Saturday sometime?
  15. It happens on every cache I try. Taking one at random I look at the map properties and I get http: //openspace.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/osmapapi/ts?KEY=4B692F8F924E6AF7E0405F0AF160613D&SERVICE=WMS&VERSION=1.1.1&REQUEST=GetMap&STYLES=&EXCEPTIONS=application%2Fvnd.ogc.se_inimage&FORMAT=image%2Fjpeg&LAYERS=1&SRS=EPSG%3A27700&BBOX=575250,181000,575500,181250&WIDTH=250&HEIGHT=250 I have added an extra space after the http: to get the full text to display in this message. The map box appears OK, I can make it bigger and smaller, look at the EULA and see the Lat/Long change as I move the mouse around. I just don't see any map, just "Sorry This map tile cannot be served at the moment" As others are OK it must be me but I don't know where to start I've looked at the area in question through the script, and it looks completely fine to me. The image link you gave was a tiny bit of the water in the Tthames estuary at the maximum zoom level the map can handle. When liked directly to it, you'll get a "Sorry this tile could not be served" message, since the OS check the referrer of the script. However, it should be fully visible when viewed through the map frame. I honestly have no idea why the OS servers would be refusing to serve you the map tiles. My only suggestion is to clear your browser's cache and try again. I'm sorry I couldn't have been more helpful. I may bring back the alternative set of OS maps as a legacy backup option just in case this is happening to anyone else also.
  16. It was good to meet you, I met so many new faces, we had a good time, we got about 20 caches. How did you do? Seems we got the weather just at the right time. Its throwing it down here in Bedford now. Thanks for the link, i'll have to consult with my son regards a new name, but watch thi space ____. Did you look at Stovolds Revenge, we did and failed. Poor Matt was working on it most of Sunday eve and Monday. I looked at Stovold's Revenge, good take on a puzzle cache, found quite easily
  17. I'm sorry to find that cache go, I thought it was a quite well hidden and a good hide on the albeit very busy A3. I'm glad I was one of the last finders before it was horribly muggled!
  18. I just don't see any map, just "Sorry This map tile cannot be served at the moment" As others are OK it must be me but I don't know where to start Thanks for that info, it should help a little, I'll look into it further in the morning.
  19. I have no idea why this happened, it might be a result of something wrong at the OS. I believe that we've not been hitting their imposed tile limit. Can you give me a link to the cache page to see if its a localised issue?
  20. Bah, missed this, would have asked if anyone was on the return train at 18:40. Oh well....
  21. That script is hosted here: http://gmscripts.locusprime.net/Log_Find_Counter.html Not sure if it works, though. There's no message saying its been updated.
  22. I had a fantastic time, my thanks goes to all - the smooth running of the event proved how much effort you have all put into the events. I certainly hope to make it along to more in the future.
