  1. Here's an update. I just revisited the cache page, and there is one picture in its gallery. Here it is. It seems to me that these signs were placed at some point after the cache. It almost makes you wonder whether cachers are the REASON for the signs... or at least a contributing factor. Had I looked at that picture before, I would probably have never visited the cache location.
  2. There should be though... just wait until someone gets poked in the eye.
  3. I understand your sentimant, and agree that there are a lot of poorly/uncreatively placed micros. However, I've seen some brilliantly placed micros in wonderful locations where there's no way you could put a regular-sized cache. Also, I've seen some full-size caches in some not-so-great locations. So, I guess I disagree with both you and the OP. I don't think it's about the size of the cache, but, rather, the quality of the cache.
  4. LOL... sorry about that. I was in a hurry, and that was easy.
  5. The cache was attached to the fence itself. The cache description does indeed say that there is no need to trespass or violate the posted restrictions. I do not know who owns the land (for all I know the cache placer could be the owner). I just know it made us a bit nervous... but we did log the find . (Without crossing the fence). It was good to meet you too mtn-man.
  6. If not, it seems to me like it's flirting dangerously close.
  7. Happening to me too. Previews many waypoints, but nothing comeing up in PQ.
  8. With a hat like that you're worried about making a spectacle of yourself?????
  9. Nah, that makes you a Weasel... For my part, I appreciate what the OP was trying to do. (I sure don't want to take my wife to crime ridden garbage heaps). Even more, I appreciate that he posted here in an effort to make sure he did it the right way. I think it could have been a bit more tactful, but given the choice between tactful and being in a place where people are being killed, the choice seems pretty clear to me.
  10. Let your friend go first... then he'll get the spider web in the face.
  11. Don't pick at it, or it will never heal.
  12. It's hard to say... that's why I'd like some of you more experienced pro's to have a look if you get the chance. Thanks, Perry
  13. Is it possible? If so I couldn't figure it out. Thanks, Perry
  14. Hiya, I was wondering if someone could tell me how typical this accuracy is from my GPS receiver. All of the odd numbered wapoints were taken from one location, and all of the even numbered ones were taken from another. I had an unobstructed view of the sky and my receiver was showing strong locks from at least 4 satellites when each waypoint was taken. Also, I did my best to stand in exactly the same spot at each location. I made my appraches from different directions each time. Finally, I powered down the unit after I had taken two readings at each location (i.e. I powered down betweens points 4 and 5 and between points 8 and 9). My question is whether it is normal to get this kind of spread when taking readings as I have. I'm questioning the accuracy of my GPSr and I'm not sure if it's a problem with my GPS or if these results are typical. Heres a link to a GPX file containing the 12 waypoints. Thanks a ton for anyone who can help, Perry http://home.hiwaay.net/~perryc/wpttest.gpx
