BUmp! I saw that one, but I'm sorry, it's a bit above my talent level I can get the circle with the text and the dogs and ammo can/GPSr but unfortunately I can't get all of that so that it's legible at avatar size. -
If anyone's looking for a double stroller that a toddler will actually stay in, check out the Sit N Stand that's at Target. There's a seat for the baby up front and then a little ledge seat in the back for the toddler. The toddler can either sit on the ledge seat or stand on the platform. Brodie hates riding in a regular stroller, but loves this. We don't have one, but a friend does and I've been seriously considering it...

Your email got caught in my spam filter and I wasn't able to get it back. Could you PM me here? -
2 kids - 3.5 and 13mos. Basically we just let Brodie run and do what he wants, as long as he's relatively near us and not where he's disturbing other people. He loves getting close and helping us look. Mason couldn't care less and is just along for the ride. Lots of water, juice and snacks

Ditto all of that. I've found that these very easy to use and very inexpensive tools have really cut down on my prep time, which means more family fun caching time and less "MOM! Come on!! Let's go already!" --Kristin

How's this? -
They are not that rare. Just go to any wall-mart parking lot, drive right up to the lamppost, lift up the skirt retrive cache, sign log, replace cache, no need to get out of you car. Yeah, there's at least a few of those here.. Literally could sign it in the car. I must admit though, the first one of those I found, I was a *little* throw by.. I was looking for something at the base (hole, etc) or stuck to the pole. Then I picked up the skirt. doh. I have a feeling this is the answer to one of my DNFs. It was the first cache I ever tried to find and didn't realize those skirts lifted up.

What Pda To Get And What Do They All Do For Caching
parker313 replied to peto_geo's topic in How do I...?
I've got the explorist 210 and a Palm Z22 and as far as I know, there is no way to connect them directly to each other. Not a failing of the Palm, but that it's not doable with the Explorist. I love the Palm Z22, it's great. I've gotten very used to having my to-do list and Christmas gift idea list always with me. --Kristin -
The PDA actually works really well. CacheMate is a great program. It's customizable so you can have all different categories of caches for when you go on different trips. The best thing (I think) of using a PDA is getting to take all of the past logs with me.

If you do a search on paperless caching, you'll get even more info to pore over. I'm a big ol' dork too and am jumping in headfirst with CacheMate and GSAK and a Palm to go with my GPSr. I love techie toys

Is Caching Disrupting Your Marriage?
parker313 replied to lacey38655's topic in General geocaching topics
I know *exactly* what you mean!!! We're in an urban area, so even if one of us wasn't into trekking, hiking, bushwacking, etc there are plenty of urban caches to explore. The kids are 3 and 1 so obviously the baby doesn't care yet, but even he likes getting out and about! I've been wanting to get into caching for a few years now and finally took the plunge this summer. --Kristin -
How Far To Your Closest Unfound Cache....?
parker313 replied to R.O.B's topic in General geocaching topics
GCD399 is closest as the crow flies, but not by roads (and not accessible by foot from my house as it would mean crossing an interstate). It looks like a fun, active, hiking one so I'm saving it to be a whole family treasure hunt -
Best Excuse For The Question: "what Are You Doing?"
parker313 replied to 50Cal's topic in General geocaching topics
I've only done some urban caches so far and my prepared answer was that I was looking for a matchbox car my son had lost when we were there the day before. I like the scavenger hunt reason too... -
My heart about stopped when I read that. I thought that was me for a sec when my eyes just jumped to E.T. Phone Home as ETPH is one that just the other day, I logged as a DNF when I *know* I was at the right spot but couldn't find the cache. What a relief when I realized it was someone else (b/c I know I logged mine as a DNF!)... I'm very new to this sport and it would never occur to me to log a cache find just for being in the spot where the cache SHOULD be. There was one that I think was rated 1/1 that I almost couldn't reach (and I'm 5'6") so if I hadn't been able to reach it, I *might* have logged a find before reading all of this...

Here's a helpful article I saw posted somewhere else as well (long story short, it's just what Miragee posted but with screenshots) http://65.34.18.106/content.php?article.15

What is the difference between scout camps and military bases? To get onto military bases these days, you pretty much have to have your government ID or some military person to sponsor you. There are caches on many different military bases, which seem to exclude civilians... Serious question, not snarky
