  2. hi all - i'll be moving from kentucky to massachusetts in two weeks and was hoping to snag a quick cache in new jersey - i'll be driving a uhal plus towing my car - so not too keen on driving in cities! was hoping someone could possibly suggest a rest area cache or welcome center cache somewhere in the garden state - possibly on i78 or i95? (just guessing) thanks in advance... 'neko the white diamond pirates
  3. i will be heading that way - but in a month. i leave for the move home to massachusetts on june 15th - if you still have it then, lemme know 'neko
  4. if for SOME bizarre reason someone is looking to attempt this one on friday the 20th of may, please drop me a line - it turns out i will be in the area (heading back home after a friends wedding in S.C.) - not sure i would attempt this one solo (and i won't have much of the equipment needed on me) - but if someone else is looking to go for it, and has whatever is needed - gimmie a shout - 'neko
  5. i'm headed that way, as well as through 7 new states to add to my state list - it's lookin like a ten day road trip for me on the way to GW3 and on the way back home to KY. can't wait!!! 'neko
  6. heya mikeeatnight - i would check out the geocky forums as you might be able to find a couple of old posts from local cachers in your area, or you might want to check out this tennessee group: Middle Tennessee Geocachers Club there seems to be a Geocachers of Western TN group, but i can't find a link for it - 'neko
  7. well, i'll be in savannah and atlanta on the 29th and birmingham on the 30th - i could possibly get there in the early afternoon on the 31st if you could make it happen on the 31st - otherwise, i'm out! =( jenn
  8. if this gets planned for june 1st, i may just swing over and join in - please keep me posted! jenn
  9. hiya fighterthiefmage - sounds like you've handled a few RPGs in your spare time.. check out this website for cachers in the eastern ky area. www.kyowvageocachers.org 'neko
  10. i'm not sure if you'll be directly near this spot - but if you have a chance, you MUST check this one out - i took a road trip from lexington, ky to washington dc and was glad that i took the little detour - it's a FANTASTIC virtual! not far from the highway, nothing to do but find out what it is - Merlin at Work 'neko the white diamond pirates lexington, ky
  11. update: the trip has been revised, and i'm fairly certain i've got the dates down now - the trip has been downsized a bit as i'll be making a trip to SC for a wedding just before my road trip starts (down to pawleys island) and i'll be hitting the BBQ festival in owensboro the week before the trip. now the trip looks like this: 24th lexington ky - nashville tn >stay overnight - hope to meet up with some caching friends and do some caching during the day - 25th nashville tn to memphis tn >possibly meeting up with jamiez for some caching and some lunch- we'll see what his schedule ends up doing - memphis tn to little rock ar > hit a few caches there little rock ar to texarkana ar >swing over the state line to hit a texas cache texarkana ar to shreveport la >stay overnight 26th shreveport la - jackson ms >hit a few caches there jackson la - mobile al >hit a few caches there mobile al - pensacola fl >stay overnight 27th pensacola fl - tallahasee fl >hit a few caches there tallahasee fl - jacksonville fl >stay for geowoodstock 3 - -- 29th jacksonville fl - atlanta ga >will be visiting with a few friends overnight - and caching, of course! 30th atlanta ga - lexington, ky >may stop in knoxville tn or the cumberland gap on the way back. so - now that that's a little more completel - if anyone would like to meet up in any of those spots, lemme know - or if there's a cool cache you'd like to reccoment that's not going to take too much time out of the schedule, let me know about it! 'neko
  12. i agree it's a bit upsetting, but no matter where it was, if the hider doesn't have permission to hide something, it shouldn't be there. *shrug*
  13. there are a few groups in KY - one is here: geocky the other is INKY - tho i don't know if there is a website - nothing i could find - 'neko
  14. a friend of mine is looking to buy a used GPS - preferably in the 50-75 dollar range - any takers, please respond here, or contact me via email. jenn
  15. well a big welcome to you, too, dochunter - the caching is quite ample in etown - you've got some crazy hiders out there to contend with =) jenn lexington
  16. if only you guys were holding it in may, i'd stop by on my road trip =) oh well! have fun! jenn
  17. *shrug* whichever =) i'm about halfway done with that trail - i'll be moving home to massachusetts in june and hope to finish the trail before then! good luck to you on that set of caches! 'neko
  18. i assume you are talking about jefferson county memorial forest? try this link: the siltstone trail 'neko
  19. hi kaydee =) i'm in the lexington area and there's a decent sized group of cachers around - plenty in louisville, plenty in e-town. and several scattered in different directions otherwise - check out the geocky webpage (GEOCachers of KentuckY) for more local info! feel free to ask quetions, advice, whatever - and welcome to the addiction! jenn the white diamond pirates
  20. i tend to agree with most posters - this was one i stumbled on, not one that i sought out - i actually have a few benchmark finds under my belt so am mostly familiar with hunting them - we just came on this one by accident and i thought i'd snag it - though i didn't realize there are some benchmarks NOT in the NGS database - you learn something new everyday! i also came up with a big fat zero on the 'other' search - thanks to those who suggested it. and for those asking, the nearest cache is this one: GC9879 thanks all! jenn
  21. the benchmark - am i reading that right? 8 JWM 1950? there's a pic of the survey marker near the sky bridge sign. jenn
  22. hey all, while caching i found a BMark - snapped a picture of it (which i can't upload right now, but will later) - and now am trying to locate it online - i've tried the nearest benchmarks link on the cache page we were near, but nothing is ringing a bell - any suggestions until i post the pic? (tomorrow am) thanks jenn
  23. i have my own http://www.livejournal.com site that i occasionally post my geocaching stories on - there is also a http://www.livejournal.com/community/geocaching/ community there. 'neko
