Route 66 premium membership contest.
Hemorrhage replied to Roman!'s topic in General geocaching topics
My guess is 523. No particular reason for that number, just sounded good to me. -
Would it be safe to assume that we are talking about these coins? http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=110993286428 The unit in question seems to be from the same state as the OP.

New Minelab Gecoin Promotion - North America
Hemorrhage replied to LutherNation's topic in Trackables
The activation code should be MINELAB. That's what mine was -
Those icons mean it is in a cache. The green one shows it has had activity recently.

Tomb Raider official partnership coming up?
Hemorrhage replied to thebruce0's topic in General geocaching topics
I would have to agree that with the retirement of challenges that this promotion may be dead. That being said though, I believe the game is scheduled to come out in March and we may hear more about the promotion as that date gets closer. Either way it would be nice to know if the promotion has been canned or not -
New Minelab Gecoin Promotion - North America

Did the people that are receiving these ever get a confirmation that they would be getting one, or are you just finding them in your mailbox? The reason I ask is I signed up for one but never got a confirmation that my request was received. When a friend tried to sign up he was given a message that they were all gone. I didn't get this message but I also didn't get one telling me that my request made it in time. Just curious if I should be racing to the mailbox each day or not -
There are a couple caches in a similar area near me that also have no trespassing signs posted even though the land is owned by fish and game. One of the signs is actually nailed to a tree that has a fish and game marker attached to the same tree! It was determined that somebody posted the signs to deter hunters from the area. It may be a similar situation in your area

I don't see that. Do you have a link? It was a Buy It Now, sold for $40. - 221113764021 Thank you, I thought I was going crazy when I tried to find it again this morning and couldn't

I see he now has a white jeep posted for sale... I looked into reporting the item, but the only violation that this fits in their given choices would be selling stolen property and apparently you have to be a law enforcement officer to report stolen property on eBay....

It sounds to me like you may have found a QR-Talker which is a trackable item that uses a QR code. I use a program on my phone called Neoreader to scan them which will direct you to the trackable's page
-
I have one I might be willing to part with, send a list of your traders through my profile and I'll take a look at them
-
Whoo hoo finally got mine in the mail, #160! It's been a great read so far!
-
It looks like there are a couple available on cointracking.com. Thanks for the heads up. Tried getting ahold of the person on that website but no response. Hopefully someone else may know of a few floating around somewhere There is one available on the e-place right now if you are still looking

I too would strongly suggest a paperless gps unit. If that isn't in the budget at the moment, you could pick up a car charger for your phone and charge it in between destinations to get a little more out of your phone

This must be quite the trackable to weigh over 1 pound! My interest is certainly peaked
-
If you are interested, I have an "Ancient Cultures" coin for trade that is unactivated. Not sure if it is Mayan or not, but I think it looks like it. You'll have to excuse the photo quality, it was taken from inside my binder. If you are interested, you can send me a list of your traders through my profile
-
I have an unactivated copper honu turtle I would be willing to trade. Send me a list of your traders through my profile and we can work something out. I can send a picture later today if you'd like

Less then 1/10 of a mile rule.
Hemorrhage replied to Jenhull8888's topic in General geocaching topics
As long as each film can and the final is at least 1/10 from any other existing caches, you should be fine. Each stage of a multi cache can be as close as you want to each other, but every stage with a physical container has to be at least 1/10 from all other caches that aren't part of the multi. Does that make any sense? I'm not the best at phrasing things, but hope it is clear enough to answer your question -
I picked it up from one of Avroair's fundraising auctions to help pay for the event. It's probably one of my favorite coins, pictures really don't do it justice
-
I got them from here: http://www.geocoindirect.net/35-geocaching-bike-geocoin I like how the gear fits into the border

This collecting thing has gotten dangerous! I don't know that I'll be able to stop! Here are some of the more recent treasures found in my mail box

That sounds like a great mission, but be prepared that not everyone will pay attention to its mission when moving your bug along and it could soon be far off course. I almost picked up a traveler in Arizona last month to take back to Montana with me. I happened to have my smart phone with me and decided to check its mission before grabbing it, and its a good thing I did. The mission stated it was trying to make it home to Tuscon. Not everyone has access to that information in the field, so be prepared for it to stray a bit here and there in its mission. If enough people are kind enough to take pictures for you, it would be cool to print them out and put them in a photo album along with the traveler when it makes it home. Then you could take it to events and share its adventures with others

Geo-tagging Camera Suggestions
Hemorrhage replied to luvvinbird's topic in GPS technology and devices
I would suggest the Nikon COOLPIX AW100. It's waterproof, shockproof, and has built in gps with maps. Most sites have it right around the $300 mark. Some of the features include: 16 megapixels Waterproof to 33 feet Shockproof to 5 feet Freezeproof to 14F 1080p video recording Built-in GPS, mapping and electronic compass Geotag photos -
We liked the start where you want format. It isn't as much fun when you pull up and a large group already has the cache in hand, and all you get to do us sign the log. Searching for the cache is half the fun! It doesn't really feel like a "find" if you didn't have to find it. With the groups spread out more, it helped avoid this problem and made it more fun

What is Signal the Frogs favorite day of the Year?
Hemorrhage replied to NYPaddleCacher's topic in General geocaching topics
Dang, I was gonna say "flyday"
