  1. How did you see my UK total as 1203?
  2. The cache on the International Space Station?
  3. It’s been like it for a while, have literally no idea
  4. As of yesterday we have found 1240 geocaches, however on our profile statistics page under the Maps tab our Caches You've Found in the World total only adds up to 1239. UK 1202 Poland 19 Spain 10 Cyprus 8 = 1239 I've been on Project GC to find bad logs and our profile is showing no duplicate logs or logged own caches. Can someone explain why our totals don't tally?
  5. Thanks I was just checking They are all non-premium caches. So technically, 2 or 3 volunteers from a group could create a new Non-Premium account solely to adopt them? So as not to mess up their stats (finding owned caches) etc?
  6. Some geocaches are up for adoption near us, I was wondering if it's possible for a Non-Premium member to adopt them?
  7. Ok no problem, thanks everyone!
  8. I've tried posting a note and adding images, and also adding the images retrospectively to a log but they still appear in my gallery. Any other ideas? CL
  9. Yes I see that on the menu for a trackable that I own, what about for somebody else's trackable? There is no "upload an image" option, all there is to choose from is Found it? Log it! Watch this trackable item Print info sheet View in Google Earth Cheers, CL
  10. Hi all, Does anybody know if its possible, to upload an image to a trackable's page without it ending up in your gallery on your profile? I'm sure I've managed to do this before but I can't remember how I did it. Many thanks, CL
  11. This has now been resolved using the GSAK program and the badgegen macro. Thanks to everyone for their input! C.L.
  12. Managed to get a Badgegen stat bar onto my profile, but I had to tweak the html to make it show. It's not exactly the same as the other profile either, and I think the version on the other profile looks a lot better. Does anyone know how I get it exactly the same as the other profile? My Profile: https://www.geocaching.com/profile/?guid=11345c89-db2a-4485-b7d5-a1c603c45b37 What I want my profile to look like: https://www.geocaching.com/profile/?guid=570a903f-fb10-47bc-b0f2-fea843e17868 (To find Badgegen stat bar on my profile, scroll down)
  13. Haha I just posted the html code used on the project gc website and wouldn't you just know it, it worked on this forum. I will try it again on edit profile now!
  14. I'm aware of how to centre images, have bold/italic/coloured text, use breaks and alter image sizes etc, that's no problem. I just thought there would be a fixed html code for this feature, where you add your geocaching ID into the middle of it (just like the SideTracked series or Church Micro series). There does seem to be one provided on the project-gc website: But this does not work when I enter it in my edit profile space.
  15. Sorry to name drop but take a look at the profile belonging to "jennthefunkyranger" This is what I saw, how do I get the html to display all the badges?
  16. Hi everybody. After randomly scanning through a few peoples profiles, I came across one with the official Badgegen awards on display. I think this looks cool and I'd like to display the same on my own profile. The problem is, I can't add it to my profile. I've been to the section on project-gc .com and picked up the html code, copied and pasted it in to my edit profile section but nothing shows. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I've been to the Badgegen website too but can't see anything on there to help. Does anyone know how to do this? Cheers
  17. This has been resolved, I posted a note instead of claiming the find and I immediately had a reply giving thumbs up to log the find. Thanks
  18. Thanks for the feedback everybody. We've been geocaching for 2 and a half years and we are still unsure of the etiquette of some of the things related to it. I will post the log and make sure I backdate it. Hopefully CO will not delete. Thanks for the feedback and info once again!
  19. Hi everyone. Opinions please... Yesterday, like a lot of other geocachers, we went to complete an Earthcache in order for us to obtain the souvenir for International Earthcache Day 2015. We visited GC22EH7 and found out the answers to the questions posed by the CO. So far so good. When we got home I emailed the CO our answers and respectfully awaited confirmation that our answers are correct and that we can indeed log it as found. We are still waiting for confirmation. The CO has visited geocaching.com today (since we sent our correspondence), so they would have seen our answers, surely. I have also emailed the same message to their personal email link from the site but have had no reply there either. Other geocachers have had permission and have logged it already. So the CO is still active. I would like to log it as a find but after reading down the previous logs, the CO has deleted some previous logs because the "finders" haven't complied with the rules set (logging it as found without permission). So I respect this and I am waiting patiently for an answer either "yes log it as found" or "no, you got something wrong there". So, my question to everyone is this: do we get our souvenir if we log an Earthcache retrospectively? And am I doing the right thing if I resend messages? I don't want to seem impatient but I don't want it to be forgotten about either. Any help here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Chocolate Lundi.
  20. Thanks guys for your advice, I've just emailed them and hopefully it can get into circulation once again. Fingers crossed!
  21. Hi, one of our trackables has been retrieved by another geocacher but sadly they are not logging it as being visited in any caches that they've found recently. The trackable in question is called Floreat Salopia, feel free to take a look at the page. We are in the UK and the TB is currently in Australia, it was retrieved on 27/02/15 and its had two visits to caches, the last visit being 01/04/2015. The geocachers who retrieved it have found a few caches since retrieval, their last cache find was 06/07/2015. We were wondering, what is the etiquette for this matter? Is it considered bad manners to get in contact with them to kindly ask them if its still in their possession? Do I just leave it and patiently hope it moves on? Many thanks
  22. We've been back for a look at the area, and whilst there is no poo about to be stepped in, there is admittedly some litter if the search for the cache was expanded. We did find one discarded poo bag a few feet from gz. Signal here is not the best and I can understand why they may have searched further up. We have decided to move the cache to another location in the town, which involves changing the puzzle . I will make it a bit more easier to solve and hopefully less tedious. I only mentioned log deletion as we are new to acing caches and I didn't know the etiquette... It's best to find out first rather than to do it and then get in trouble. I do think cache ownership IS for us, just need to learn from our mistakes and think a little more carefully about placement. We couldn't post photos of the area as it would give away final location. As a previous poster has mentioned, a DNF log can sound whiny, but at least they logged the DNF unlike some who seem to be anti DNF and refuse to do it. Many thanks once again for the feedback it's been valuable and its really helped us with our decision. Happy caching everybody Chocolate Lundi
  23. Thank you, finally some positive feedback!
  24. We have recently hidden our first ever geocache in our home town, in what we thought was a good location. But yesterday we received a couple of bad logs mentioning dodging dog poo and litter... We put a lot of thought into where to hide it and I can honestly say that when we selected our hiding place there was no dog poo anywhere and hardly any litter. These bad logs could put off potential finders of our geocache and I have to admit its put a bit of a bad taste in our mouths. What is the best course of action now for us, is it bad etiquette to delete logs? The geocache in question is GC5KN54, have a look for yourselves at it and let us know what you think.
