  1. Several times in a day??? I have not calibrated mine for about a month now and it still points in the correct direction. (Tested by pointing at the same known geographical feature at the same spot)
  2. I don't think S=sensors. The Vista CX also has compass & barometer.
  3. If you outfitted your vehicle with bigger aftermarket wheels/rims/tyres that does not conform with the vehicle manufacturers' specifications, your speedometer readings will be off by 5% to 15% depending on the choice of wheels/rims/tyres. Even when using wheels conforming to the vehicle manufacturers' specifications, normally the speedometer readings are faster by about 5% for most vehicle makes. I feel that the most inaccurate speedometers tend to be in vehicles that uses mechanical means to drive the speedo when compared to those that use sensors.
  4. My GPSr is currently using the lastest firmware from Garmin so I don't think that it has a defective algorithm. My experiences suggests that using GPS without WAAS gives more stable and/or accurate readings when locks on WAAS sats are intermitent in my part of the globe.
  5. In my part of the world, I get to see sats #42 & #50. My experiences with WAAS is that when you do get a lock on these sats, it improves the accuracy by 1 to 2 meters. When moving under tree cover, the reception is intermitent and when you do lose them, the accuracy is actually degraded to worse than using the GPSr without WAAS. I get a more constant accuracy reading when using my GPSr without the WAAS turned on while hiking. If you stay in one place for more than 15 mins, I notice no difference in the EPE with or without the WAAS turned on. Currently, I'm only using it for hiking in forested areas and driving through the city. Would like to try it out at sea and compare the results one of these days........
  6. Anyone turn on the WAAS while using your GPSr in Singapore? What are your experiences with WAAS/DGPS in Singapore? Why would you want/not want to use this function? Discuss.........
  7. I have a Vista Cx and share the same views as Michael on this subject. I have actually sent feedback on this very topic to Garmin 1 plus week ago and have yet to get any reply. Will update this thread once Garmin gives a reply.
  8. Thanks guys for all your replies. Happy geocaching.............
  9. Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the circle around the position marker is for? It appears on the map screen when I zoom in to 1.2km. It's my first time owning a gps so any helpful replies will be appreciated. Thanks
  10. Thanks for the info but my vista does not have that option when I went to the setup page.
  11. Hi, anyone knows how to check the Vista Cx firmware version?
