  1. Got my 2 laptops yesterday. Have showed them around with pride. All who saw them thought they were really great. Thanks for an different geocoin.
  2. Thanks for taking the time to lay those out--that helps me, a lot! The outer edge will have to be the same color on both sides, I believe. See how this image has gold on one side and nickel on the other? Could we get you to redo the the entire set of coins again with the same color edge on both sets of pairs, please? I think I prefer the raised smooth lines and the rough background, in the drawings. As far as "coin in hand" that may be different, though, as I did like the looks of the PA coin shown in this thread. I have to admit that I don't much like the photo of the OH coin in this thread with the topo features on it (and I teach Earth Science)--Has anyone seen that coin--surely the photo doesn't do it justice? By the way, I am calling the side with the torch the back, since it's backwards--even though the tracking numbers are on the other side. Can we agree to that, so it's easier to discuss suggestions? I like the back side, with the torch, just the way it is. There really isn't a way to add text to that side without changing the visual balance. Ask any art teacher, it's all about balance! The last two posts with pictures, I believe they were dougsmiley and neos2 posts, had "INDIANA 2007" at the top of the back side of the coin. Were they just to see what the two metals and color combos were? If the design has changed to be that way, I would like to say I still like the title side to be the front where the state is correctly laid out. I would not see any problem with balance if the tracking number and reference to geocaching.com were in the southern part of the state on the back. I promise this is my last post. Keep up the good work. I am still wanting whatever you come up with.
  3. Okay, things are looking pretty good. I haven't followed the creating of a coin before where public input was solicited. Do we know at this point if it will be a one metal coin, or multiple offerings? When a final decision is made, approximately how long before they can be ordered? I don't want to miss out on that. If you are trying to find out how many will be ordered, I would be interested in at least 3 based on the how it sounds as if it is shaping up. At this point, I would like to thank those who will be actually causing it to happen.
  4. I'm not able to get artistic either, but do have some ideas as to what I think is pleasing in appearance. I personally like the flag on the reverse view of the state outline but with the torch going side to side to take away the look of a backwards shape of the State of Indiana. I personally am not much for advertising any particular thing about the state other than the first cache and the state itself. I am wondering if anyone has checked out any legal ramifications of using "Home of the Indianapolis Colts". There was some sort of stink when one of the car owners in the Indy 500 wanted to paint the car in Colts blue and white and just use the word Go Colts or something like that. They weren't wanting to use the horseshoe I don't think. The Indianapolis Colts organization wouldn't let that be done. I guess my vote would be for the side with the state facing the right way to have the interstates, Indiana's First geocache, Indiana 2007, and "Cacheroads of America" only. I would have the torch, and the tracking number and the reference to geocaching.com on the other. I guess, I would agree with Neos2, that sometimes "less is more", although I think 3 or 4 colors would work. Again, I stress that these are only my opinions and not meant as a critique of others' ideas.
  5. I hadn't even noticed the cache name. I totally agree that the cache name should be put up there with the gc93. "Our" wouldn't be necessary if using the "Indiana's First". I like the interstate road idea only if it would look like one was looking at a map of Indiana and not as a mirror image. Wouldn't want us Hoosiers to appear backwards would we? I think that if we stay with the interstate idea that "Cacheroads of America" should be placed on the same side as the "roads". If the map with interstates is dropped, then Cacheroads of America would be placeable anywhere on the coin. Just my thoughts on this.
  6. I personally like the Cacheroads of America idea. If I did put a spin on it, I would have it say "Indiana Cacheroads of America" somewhere on the Indiana shaped coin with the Interstates. I would change the GC93 statement to "GC93 Our First Cache". That would make it sound more like we are proud to having geocaching in our state. I don't consider myself very artistic, so I have no opinions on colors or other design ideas.
  7. Okay. I have been contact with the people at Groundspeak and the people at Itsnotaboutthenumbers. The people at Groundspeak say that the only time you get two files when you unzip the My Finds Query is when at least one of the caches has additional waypoints. I didn't know that. The people at ITNATN confirmed that. Here is a cut and paste of their response. Yep... as the response said, you'll only > have the second file if you've found a cache with extra > waypoints. All is not lost, however... > > Simply open up your text editor and create a blank file. Save it as > "796427-wpts.gpx". Zip that file along with the "796427.gpx" back into > the "796427.zip" file and the upload should work. Once you find a cache > with extra waypoints you'll never have to do this workaround again. I did as suggested by the INATN people and it worked. This info helps my problem of being able to put the stats on my profile page using Itsnotaboutthenumbers.com I don't know if it will help anyone else with their problems.
  8. I have a pocket query problem too. I also have a problem with saved pq's sometimes not coming through after I turn them on. I have never had a corrupted regular pq zip file emailed to me. More importantly when I put the my finds query in queue I get it almost immediately, but instead of two files coming as I am told is supposed to happen, I just get one file. I use this to upload statistics in "It's Not About the Numbers" It doesn't always happen that way, but enough that it is a pain in the neck. Before you ask if I unzip the file or change it's name before sending to INATN. I do not unzip or change the name of the zip file I receive in the email. Only after I cannot upload the zip file do I try different things. That is when I found that when unzipped, only one file is there. INATN says there should be two. Thanks for any help on solving this.
  9. Sorry about that. I got on here doing a search for pocket query issues. Didn't notice where it took me, just that this was the topic of discussion.

  11. And most everyone but me thought this was going 'normally'. It just seems as though this particular coin is jinxed! When the final tally is made I think we will see that the coin really just took too long to produce. We have to do better next time! But, I must admit that, based purely upon the posts, the shipping went very fast and quite smooth! Signed, Not so optimistic after more'n a year Kind of new to this thread, but as one who possesses a set of this coin and wanting more, I thought I would jump in here. I think the coin is really great. I have little knowledge of the amount of time from start to finish, but did try to get activation codes today after receiving these coins as a gift last night. I also had no luck. I sent an email to usageocoins asking for suggestions. They responded that they were checking with Coins and Pins to see if they were to have these codes. They copied Coins and Pins with the response to me. I then got another email reply a few minutes later stating that Coins and Pins replied to them and they should be up later this evening. Hope that takes care of the problem. Again, thanks for a great looking coin.
  12. I would be interested in one or two sets. I received a set from my son markz68 and was really impressed. I don't know what the price was, so I don't know if I want one or two sets. If you could reserve me one at least and send the pricing info, I will make payment. Thanks for a great coin. x-sighted
  13. My son just got me an LE Postal Jeep. It is really great looking. I activated it and found that it didn't have a unique icon as I thought it was to have. Is that something that will correct itself soon or was there no unique icon? Also, I believe I saw in one of your postings that there is a XLE version? What is that like and is it available? This coin was of interest to me since I work for the USPS and drove jeeps like this when I first started working there. Good job.
  14. I have a travel bug, x-sighted's Mail Call. It's goal is to travel to various post offices around the world and have a picture taken and any info of the post office. It is in the hands of a cacher that has done a fantastic job of travel and picture taking. Caching doesn't seem to be happening so there is no cache to log it to to get mileage. It has had it's picture taken at several post offices in China. Is it possible to somehow log the coordinates of those towns to get mileage for the travels or not. The main goal of traveling and having the pics will satisfy me, but mileage would be the icing on the cake. Thanks for any assistance. By the way, did I tell you that the cacher who has my travel bug is doing a fantastic job. This is no criticism of his handling of the tb.
  15. Sent email for one coin. Not knowing what might be available at time of email, I listed my 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice. Thanks.
