  1. Great job Lori and Mama Cache!! You make beautiful coins together!!
  2. PengoBeky's Mission: 1. Participating: yes 2. Received Name:yes 3. Mission Complete:shipped on 11.11.2008 4. Package Received:
  3. Yes but the intent of this thread is to post a coin that you would love that is still available for sale in the hopes that someone gifts it to you. Not a trade and not specifically for the santa mission as the packages were due to be mailed out this week. Kind of too late for that. Doesn't this seem somewhat like what I posted the other day about begging for coins even if you call it a 'What you want for Christmas most thread???'
  4. Isn't that what the heart's desires thread is for?? This is just going to turn into a sales add. (man, I AM getting cranky in my old age.) A lot of people have seeking lists in their signatures and that is a good place to start looking for missions. And I think the majority of people are happy to receive anything for the missions as long as it is not activated. It's the thought that counts.
  5. Congrats to all the new bandits!! Ours is # 169 if you want to add it to the list Tschakko. Thanks!
  6. From reading all the different 'stories' as responses and excuse after excuse I would not be surprised if the coins that were paid for never end up being delivered. I do not see how, after all of this, that they or one of them, would be able to even due any more coins in the future. I think their reputation is tarnished beyond repair.
  7. Well if thats true.............hes not doing a good job of it. And it has been 3 weeks since his last update.
  8. LOL me too!! Where to begin...where to begin. One funny thing that I have was send the same coin to the same person twice. I did that once with our personal geocoin...thought I forgot to send them my end of the trade and ended up sending them the same coin twice. DOH! And I just did that recently with a pathtag too. Double DOH!!
  9. Very nice personal coin. I agree that it will look good in antique nickel or satin silver. Antique gold is nice too but I think the nickel finishes will give it a more 'cold' feeling with the snow. You may even want to consider making a sample with glitter for the snow to see if you like that effect or not. I think the sides with mountains would be great in soft enamel fill and the snow boarding side in imitation hard enamel. But samples will give you an idea of which you like best. Great work!!
  10. Sounds like a cool coin to me! LOL, I agree. So who's minting it so I know who to ask for one for free.
  11. I will always have room on my piece of ice for a dragon...as long as you don't breathe fire and melt it.
  12. cointest? nah no poblem here as long as I win..me ..pick me...pick me LOL Just to clarify my original post is referring to people who email for a trade then email again then a few montsh later again about the same coin. I love to trade. But there are only so many times I can tell someone that I don't have coin 'x'. If I didn't have any left the first time I highly doubt that some magically appeared the 3rd or 4rth time that I was emailed about it. And there appears to be a lot of newer collectors beggin for free coins because they just discovered geocoins and love them and ooo and ahhh they are shiney so give em free ones type thing. That gets old fast.
  13. I admit to having posted in that thread so maybe I am guilty of my own complaint? Food for thought.
  14. Just wondering what the general consensus is out there about people begging for geocoins and emailing other cachers for their personal coins? I know there are lots of coins that I'd like to have or get and I am sure I have posted once or twice about wanting such and such a coin. But I don't believe I have gone to the extent of emailing people begging (almost harassing) and making them feel guilty or explaining what hardship that I am having just to try and get a coin. I think I have always been polite in trade requests and this post is not directed at one person in particular. But I am seeing a trend lately on the forums and have been on the receiving end of a few of those begging emails too. Just wondering what others thought and are they experiencing the same thing?? Or am I being unusually sensitive and should I crawl back to my little block of ice and just float happily by??
  15. Ditto! Hang in there! And we will keep your dad in our prayers too.
  16. If the coin is activated then no you can not keep it. If the coin is NOT activated then it is considered swag and you should trade equal or better for it. And yes there are many penguin coins out there.... -PengoFamily (unfortunately we don't have any left otherwise I would help a fellow penguin out) -OshnDoc -March of the Penguins -Looney Penguin -Pengy and Tigger -Geo Penguin -South Pole with a penguin on it -Antarctica 2006 -Midwest Geobash coins with penguins on it..... hmmm I think I may have named them all. If not then I am missing some. I don't have a penguin coin for you but if you email me your address I can send you a penguin zoppinin charm that we use as sig items.
  17. Though of a few more... Tink Tank Elle Tank TiddlyTink TinkerElle
  18. Are we allowed suggesting more than one geonick? If so how about Lil Tank If not someone else is free to grab that one and suggest it
  19. Congratulations! That is awesome news about Tank and the little Tink!!! Here is my attempt at a geo nick Tank 'n Tot (it will be abother TnT )
  20. I'd like to sign up for Canada (Montreal area) please. When I prepare coins to travel I attach a plastified card with the mission on it with plastic tire wraps. The plastiied card keeps the mission water proof and using the tire wrap makes sure it will stay with the coin. This is very generous of you to do!!
  21. There are so many more people I'd like to nominate and I feel kind of bad not having the chance as I will be heading off to bed after this post. A lot of people have already been nominated and there are so many people deserving of coins. I would like to nominate Frozen Buns. She is very generous with coins and with other things as well. She always seems to be helping out a friend. She is a great friend for helping others who need it. She fulfilled my heart's desire for the odyssey coin set. She deserves to win a coin too.
  22. I would like to nominate the other Pete aka The Moop Along. How can you not with those big eyes pleading for more. Pete does a lot of work at the mega events to organize the poker tourneys. He also has been great to trade with. He seems to always throw in something extra into our trades and he has a sharp wit too.
  23. I would also like to nominate Claire of Laval K-9. She is sooo nice!! And she has also been generous with little PengoBeky giving her some coins. She has alaso helped to organize a WWFM event and helps new coiners around here with questions.
  24. There are so many people to nominate. I would like to nominate Tennessee Jed. He has always been very generous in trading with me. And he is setting free a HUGE bunch of coins. He is adopting them over to a lot of cachers here on this forum then releasing them so they can watch them travel. That is a very generous thing to do with 400 geocoins +.
  25. I would like to nominate Arf2-D2. She does not post much in these forums but she is really generous and nice!! She has created a pathtag for charity to raise funds for the Red Cross for the earthquake victims in China. Tracee was also kind enough to trade some tags for me at GCF since I was unable to attend. I just got the tags back and there was a mystery one thrown in with my trades. She didn't receive one. I offered to send her mine since she did all the work for me but she insists that I keep it.
