  1. One big geocaching resolution I have is to get to an event in the US to meet some of you great people!! I have traded with so many people that it would be great to finally meet some in person. Maybe 2009 will be the year to finally do that.
  2. That sounds really funny Mark!! What do the coins look like?
  3. PengoBeky has received her mission! I have to try and get pics before all the edible goodies are eaten. She received the funniest pair of foam penguin sunglasses. I gotta get a pic of her in these...it's a riot!! Beky also received a penguin apron, a foam magnet kit (with a penguin), penguin chocolate, marshmellow north pole candy and some great geocoins too! She received the bitten ears easter bunny geocoin, a travel penguin geocoin, and a black canyon beach luaua event geocoin. Wonder how they figured out we like penguins?? Thanks so much River Cacher!! PengoBeky is thrilled with everything!!
  4. We have a few traditions that we have started for Christmas. Some seem like ordinary everday stuff but it's memories like those that I hope that my daughter grows up remembering and cherishing. I know I cherish all the family time that we spend together. First: We put up the Christmas tree about the second week of November. We have been doing this for the past 3 years. It's early I know but my daughter reasons that of there are Christmas decorations in the stores we should have ours up at home too. How can you argue with logic like that? We decorate the tree together..although I do admit to moving decorations around after when Beky is in bed because that all end up towards the bottom of the tree (her height). LOL Second: This is a new tradition for me. I started teaching Sunday School at my church this year. I teach preschoolers up until 7 years of age. This year I am helping with the annual Christmas play about the birth of Jesus. Beky is going to be the part of an angel. This is something that I will look forward to every year. The kids are funny to work with and sometimes....well... challenging as well. Fingers crossed. Third: Every year I always watch 2 movies around the holidays. They are 'It's a Wonderful Life" and 'The Sound of Music'. I have been doing that for the past 11 years. I really don't have a great explanation as to why but I love those movies. Of course I cannot resist singing along to the The Sound of Music. I dare any of you to watch the movie and not sing one note. It's so much fun! Fourth: New Year's. We don't go out on New Year's Eve but chose to stay home as a family and celebrate. Hard to find a babysitter too. But every year we spend all day and night cooking hors d'oeuvres and just pig out all day. We'll have shrimp, sausage rolls, spring rolls, meatballs, whatever finger food type stuff we find. It's fun to come up with the menu from year to year. Last year we had a cranberry brie in a puff pastry and that was just divine!!! Wonder what we can do to top that this year.
  5. Hi there! I designed the November Geoswag Coin and Pin Club geocoin. My version differs a bit from the version sent out to its members. My finish is black nickel, with the glitter in the snow and a nice bright blue on the back. I have 25 with matching pins. I am looking to trade for the new suncatcher nativity geocoin that just came out by Theotokos. I am looking for 3 2 1 but will trade for whatever I can. 1 is for myself and 2 are for gifts. Please contact me if you would like to trade. Here is a pic of my coin.
  6. I think you can find the activation code here: oakcoins activations
  7. Especially Quebec... Are you sending me stuff that I don't know about. HEY!!!! Thats sucks! I think a lot of it has to do with customs. I just received my club coins from geoswag and it had a big yellow tape around it saying it had been opened by customs. Knock on wood, but my average on receiving mail and sending hasn't been too bad. Although I do try and avoid mailing packages this time of year. I know things I send and receive sometimes take a while but they usually get to where they are going. For sending to Canada and using the customs form it seems to be good just to mark it as a token and give it a low dollar value.
  8. Nuts! missed this. I designed that one and I am just waiting for my coins so that I can trade. oh-well. glad you like it and got one!! I'm sorry. I've put something in the mail for Pengobeky AWWW thanks!
  9. Nuts! missed this. I designed that one and I am just waiting for my coins so that I can trade. oh-well. glad you like it and got one!!

  11. These are 2 very deserving people as well. LadyBee4T is sooo generous and has such a kind heart. She orangized so many ebay auctions for Tod's family and Rod too. She is a positive person with so many kind words. GPX is also really nice and generous. We have traded quite a few times and she has so much energy. Another kind soul.
  12. Great job Helen and Chris!! It is a beautiful coin!!
  13. I second that nomination too! And there are so many deserving people for different reasons. I would like to nominate the following people: 1) mousekakat - although she lives across the ocean we have become good friends through chatting and she knows how to brighten someone else's day. 2) dressel dragons- for all the work that Lenore did with geocoinfest, for all the wonderful trades and emails back and forth about our girls. 3) loridarlin - Lori is one of the nicest people out there. period. 4) the moop along -his avatar says it all. He is great to trade with. And for keeping it real. 5) avroair - for his many zany cointests and all the amazing events he puts together 6) tsunrisebey - she's does a lot for caching in montana and has great designs and doesn't compromise on integrity. I think it is great that her new personal coin design is cache only. WTG!! 7) lavalk-9 - Claire is such a sweet person and does a lot for the caching community in my area. They have an insane number of hides and have a great passion for geocoins. And I know there are many others out there that are deserving too!!
  14. I think my favorite caching trip was this past summer when we went to the Quebec Rendez Vous event in Quebec City. Quebec City is about 4 hours from where we live (just west of Montreal). It was Canada's first mega event and it celebrated Quebec City's 400th anniversary. This was our first mega event and first time bringing our new PengoPup Spade with us. We found a hotel in the area that was dog friendly. We had so much fun meeting others cachers that we have traded geocoins with. And meeting up with cachers we already new. I made some trades there myself and helped out Landsharkz at their booth. It was also the first time our PengoPup went geocaching. He wasn't very good at finding the caches but he had a lot of fun sniffing everything in the woods. We had a great time!
  15. Great job on your personal coin! I love it and how you are going old school with the distribution of it. I gotta get to Montana one day.
  16. There was an email newsletter update Geocoin Design on November 17th basically just stating that Jim and Paula had divided up their geocoin collection and that he was listing his on ebay to raise funds to pay for the coins and that it will take some time. More time?? I just find it funny (in the strange sense of the word) that people are bidding on the auctions and giving him more money when the money that was already taken from all of us (the customers) was suppose to pay for the coins in the first place. Are there any assurances that this money will indeed go for paying the coins?
  17. Great job Rod! I saw these a few days ago on the presale page.
  18. Yes there is still an interest in non trackable coins. I prefer a lot of older ones to some of the newer ones. You are allowed posting in the trading thread if that is what you want to do; trade. Just post in the pinned topic at the top what you have to offer and if you have any that you are seeking. If you have a question about a particular non trackable coin, feel free to post here too. You are not allowed posting non trackables for sale on this forum. Hope this helps!
  19. OK, had to do one with the actual members of PengoFamily. This is just too much fun!! edited: DOH! 2nd one is not working. edited again...think I got it... PengoElves2
  20. Here's my family and my dog. penguin elves
  21. I prefer some of the other Christmas themed designs already announced to this one. Just my opinion. I think a few of the others have more thought and time put into them. But to each their own.
  22. I hear a rumour that the South Pole Penguins are going to help Santa out this year.... A new smaller mission is planned.... Check out the forums 19th November Penguins being small, will use their brain power to the max..... Penguins...did someone say penguins????
  23. Then you've never hired an attorney! You're assuming that this is where the money went. We have no clue as nothing was ever explained clearly as to what happened to ALL or ANY of the money that they received with this remint and the Lady Luck remint. And there are still no updates as to where the coins are and if some of the geocoin collection that went to Jim is to be sold off to raise money to replace the money that they used in a fraudulent way. Even if the money supposedly went to a lawyer it wasn't their money to use that way. Groundspeak has even stepped in to 'lend' them the tracking codes so people can get their coins. Still no updates. 3 weeks is plenty of time to say something and give a progress report of somekind. Or is this all a big scam to lead us on and hope that one day we will all forget about it and it will all go away and they would have gotten away with stealing our money. That exactly what it is stealing if you do not supply the end product promised.
