My dad works with the Air Cadets in UK. He wants to introduce caching and using GPS as an activity for them to do and also to promote the Air Cadets to potential recruits. I have suggested starting with a TB race maybe involving airports/youth groups as the goal. We have also thought of doing team races as orienteering groups do. I just wondered if any groups like scouts or church groups had their own caches, if so do you put themed swaps in them? Could they be used to promote a groups like this or is that frowned upon? Does anyone have any other ideas to introduce caching to this type of group so they could benefit from it. Thanks

Just looked at your profile page and interested to see your counties map. Sorry not too great on geography but why do you have a couple of uncached counties in the middle of your hotspot? Just being nosey! Well done for not using a car. It must take a lot of forward planning. -

Found what I was looking for on GAGB site...National Trust is there but not English Heritage. Does anyone have any experience of their sites? -
Cache up for adoption
Fiona Eliza & Florence replied to BareClawz's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
Sorry, can't help and it seems that a lot of others have read this thread and also been unable to help. Would it be acceptable to contact local cachers in the area directly to ask them? or is this frowned upon? -
I want to place a cache on a site owned by English Heritage and think I have read somewhere about guidelines from large land owners, including National Trust etc for cache placement and who to seek permission from. Can anyone steer me back there or offer any advise? Thanks

OK.....a process of exclusion needed, not the North Pole but further north than the South Pole. Ummm lets think.. -
HH, any chance you can post a bigger picture of your avatar. It looks great but I'm struggling to see it properly at the current size Try here: Bearkan Juys - I took the photo whilst setting the cache. HH There is a thread in "Geocaching Topics" I was just looking at about pictures taken while caching. This has to beat them all. It is gorgeous, well done.

It may have been done before but as a new girl I was wondering what you lot are supposed to be doing.....do you have 'office jobs' that enable you to browse this site during office hours or what? For the record, I am supposed to be pureeing food for the baby but it just creates washing up and I could just do a bit quickly later so she won't starve while I chat here a bit longer!!

Sorry. I think it was my thread you referred to as being closed prematurely. I figured that as someone kindly pointed me in the direction of a recent thread that answered the original question, that it had been done to death. Is it better just to let a topic die naturally or do we support the euthanasia arguement? I thought I was being helpful so, like I say....sorry.

I am definately the bikini model stood at the front. As long as that is clear I don't mind who claims the other characters

Wow, these moderators work quickly. Is this usually the case to get your cache approved within a day or is it due, in part, tothe longer days at the mo? I am really impressed.

Waypoints
Fiona Eliza & Florence replied to Fiona Eliza & Florence's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
Thank you. I have done it now. "An Additional Waypoint cannot be the same as the published cache coordinates. (see THIS THREAD)" This was very helpful "/me suspects it'd've been quicker to add two additional waypoints than ask the question " This wasn't! -
