  1. Send to GPS stopped working with my Garmin. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Garmin plugin and the Garmin Communicator Test Page says all is working as it should but I still get "Garmin Communicator Plugin NOT detected" when trying to send to GPS.
  2. Plam Z22 with Cachemate - the screen is hard to see in bright light but I always manage to find a little shade somewhere.
  3. I've been using my Leki poles quite a bit for the past year without any problems at all. Have you tried taking them apart and cleaning them? Leki has a few tips HERE and you might try calling their customer service at 800-255-9982 x10
  4. Here's a puzzle that was published in August of 2007 and hasn't been found yet. Study! For The Bar?
  5. Here too, and with greater frequency lately.
  6. I don't know of any way to do this but I thought it would be a very useful option so I posted a feature request in the Geocaching.com Website Forum some time ago. Maybe if we can get a few more votes in that thread some nice developer will take notice and look into it. LINK
  7. Moat Mountain Progressive Challenge I've been wanting to do this series for a while. It's a 10 mile hike in the White Mountains with 30 caches and unlimited views along the way.
  8. I played around a little more and tried pasting into MS Excel and this is what I got. I usually use OpenOffice.org Calc instead of Excel and this is how it looks when pasted into a spreadsheet. This works really well and will be my preferred method until GC.com comes up with something better.
  9. I use the the mouse to select the first item in the list then drag it to the bottom of the list selecting all items. Then just copy and past into notepad and print the list. The only problem is they are formatted as shown below so I have to edit the list to get it to fit on one sheet of paper. 2 Connetquot River Park Cache GC5F9 4 "SeiTor lakeland cache" GC1DC7 6 RPA-5 Connetquot SP GC45A7 EDIT: I agree, there should be an easier way
  10. You know you're a Geocacher when... All the local stationery stores stop carrying memo books - now all they sell are logbooks.
  11. That was it, works great. Now I'll have check out some of the others, thanks!
  12. I installed this and the Add Waypoint Finder script and can't get either to work. Greasemonkey is installed and reports that both scripts are installed and enabled. FF 3.0.4
  13. Split Rock Reservoir - Northern New Jersey San Souci Preserve - Long Island, New York
  14. Well according to geocaching.com it's pronounced geo-cashing - LINK “Geocaching (pronounced geo-cashing) is a worldwide game of hiding and seeking treasure. A geocacher can place a geocache in the world, pinpoint its location using GPS technology and then share the geocache's existence and location online. Anyone with a GPS unit can then try to locate the geocache. “
  15. My favorite so far is Lake of the Clouds Hut (GC65B3) in the New Hampshire White Mountains. I hiked the “classic” Mount Washington loop, going up the Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail and down the Jewell Trail. I don't remember the exact distance but it was in the neighborhood of 10 miles. I was there the day the Mount Washington Road Race was held. Over 900 people ran 7.6 miles up the Mount Washington Auto Road which is a 4650 foot accent. My daughter was one of the participants and we planned to meet at the top. I started at 6:30am and reached the summit in time to see her cross the finish line. The views along the way and from the summit are fantastic. I still have this one on my watchlist, I love to read the new logs and look through all the pictures.
  16. When planning a Geocaching excursion I usually use Google Earth to pick an interesting area that has half a dozen or more caches in it. It would be really helpful If I could hide those caches that I've already found just like I can when I use the Geocaching.com Google Maps. Would it be possible to modify the Google Earth KML to allow this?
  17. You should try posting in the Midwest forum where the locals will see your request. Or maybe one of the nice moderators will move this post for you.
  18. Are you sure. I thought the actual FTF column had to be marked on the cache. I had to manually go into my found database and mark all my FTF's before they would be picked up. There is a another macro available (DbTextSearch) that will search all of the logs in your database for each occurance of “FTF” or any other text you choose. The macro will automatically check the FTF box each time it finds the specified text. If you use this macro then you'll need to be careful how you enter your logs. In a case like hukilaulau's, I use F-T-F instead of FTF so the macro won't pick it up.
  19. I did pretty much the same loop last week. It was a great hike with some really nice views.
  20. I think I did that one. I did it on paper, making a list of 1's and 0's. As I remember it, that format only has 1's, 0's, 11's and 00's, whereas a UPC can have 1's, 0's, 11's, 00's, 111's, 000's, 1111's and 0000's. If a computer can understand the format then a human being can do it too, just a lot slower. But many barcode readers can read many of the common formats. Try printing out that code, going to your friendly supermarket and let the cashier scan it for you, or go to a public library that uses barcodes for your library card... Edited to say, SOLVED. The timeof this edit is when I completed it, but the time to do it was also spent reading some other forum posts and checking 3 email accounts. The image in the above quote is a code 3 of 9 bar code and contains the COs in the form of N 34 .03... etc. We have lots of bar code scanning and printing equipment at work but I can't can the bar codes in GC15FFB trainlove, did you solve GC15FFB or the one above?
