  1. I just realized that when you tap a key, if you if you hold your finger down, you can slide your finger around until you have the right key then release.
  2. Check this out http://support.Groundspeak.com/Support/ind...&nav=0,5,10
  3. That's because Geocaching didn't exist while you were employed as a trooper. Edit: oops, beat me to it.
  4. Lake of the Clouds Hut This was a 4.5 mile hike up the Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail to the top of Mt. Washington with a 3,800 foot elevation gain. The hike was great and the views along the way fantastic.
  5. Why are there so many TBs stuck in this Mega Event GC17PMY? My coin has been there for almost one year. What the heck goes on at these events anyway? Do folks just grab the ones they like and keep them?
  6. I've found a little bug with the GE KML you'll probably want to fix pretty quick. I'm using GE Mac version 5.0.11733.9347. After running my used views up to a dozen or so I'll go off and do something else leaving GE open. Returning to GE after a short time (5-6 min.) and panning the map, my used view count drops back down to 1. This happens every time.
  7. Just took it out for a test drive and it's working as good as it ever did. 250 refreshes per day is more than enough and I promise I'll take it easy on the server, no more spinning the globe just for fun. Thank you Raine, Nate and everyone else involved, I love my KML!
  8. Does this mean that we might eventually see additional features such as the ability to hide "My Finds"? (Now I'm really getting excited!)
  9. I had given up hope of ever seeing the KML again. You've made my day, thank you!
  10. Navigation Map Symbols and Buttons The three butons along the right side toggle between street, topo and satellite views. Of the three buttons on the left, two zoom in and out and the small flag allows you to create your own waypoint. To navigate to a newly created waypoint, just tap on it. Of the three buttons along on the top, the hiker will center the view on your current location, the hiker with flag will center the view on your location and your destination, the button with three flags will center the view on all of the current waypoints.
  11. According to Wikipedia, "The word "bing" is an onomatopoeia, a word that imitates the sound it represents. Through focus groups Microsoft decided that the name Bing was memorable, short, easy to spell, and that it would function well as a URL around the world. The word would remind people of the sound made during the moment of discovery and decision making."
  12. This is good news indeed! snowfreak37 and dirtfan, thank you for your time and efforts.
  13. GE and the KML is fast and easy to use. I use it every time I'm planning a caching excursion. You can pan a hundred of miles with a simple mouse drag then zoom in on an interesting patch of forest to see what caches might be there. When I decide on an area to visit I run a PQ centered on one of the caches and off I go. Without the KML I'll have to figure out a zip code for that 50,000 acre forest, run a PQ, wait for the email, drop it in GE and if I don't like what I see I'll have to start over again. The lack of accuracy is not important. I use my GPSr to navigate through the forest, not Google Earth. Please don't do away with the KML, there must be another way to conserve resources.
  14. In Internet Explorer you can right click on the link and select "Save target as" to save the doc to your hard drive. Other browsers have similar options.
  15. I'm experiencing the same thing using three different browsers. It takes 3-4 minutes for that little ad to load.
  16. Exactly the same thing happened to me this morning. Later in the afternoon it was working again.
  17. To find the extra log using GSAK you can set filter. (Thanks Clyde!)
  18. 001 = 0/8 005 = 5/184 010 = 15/max 020 = 25/max 050 = 96/max 100 = 224/max 129 = max/max
  19. http://www.geocaching.com/map/default.aspx...lng=-110.633333 Zoom out a little to see the entire heart.
  20. Same here, Google Map is blank unless you zoom way out. Satellite, Terrain and My Topo seem to work fine though.
