  1. I enjoyed our Flash Mob, other than for some reason they decided to do ours at 2pm instead of 9am like they were supposed to? Here's our group photo from the Reno Flash Mob! Nice to see different kinds of events going.
  2. I soooo agreee!!! Not that I make a point to hang out with either type, I'd much rather be stuck in a crowd of stoned people than drunks ANY day! Stoned people usually just want to sleep and leave everyone else alone, drunks usually want to be obnoxious! Back on the topic of finding illeagal stuff while caching, we did find what we thought were old containers of meth ingredients, being in the middle of the desert, no point in calling the police, they won't come. We did literally trip over a homeless guy while night caching once. It was either a homeless guy or a body wrapped in a roll of carpet We didn't stick around to find out.
  3. Another "not while caching" I was called to jury selection last year and had jury duty with George Siefert the former head coach of the SF 49ers. I had absolutly no clue who he was but we were seated right next to each other during selection. I could hear the attorneys fussing in the background about autographs and didn't think much about it. We each had to stand up, say our name and what we did for a living. He stood up and made his speech about being the former head coach, blah, blah, blah. Neither one of us were picked for final selection...woohoo! He was a pretty cool guy!
  4. Googled and found.... BIG Brother star Jade Goody has topped a poll to find the UK's ugliest female celebrities, we can exclusively reveal. Thats sort of sad! Moronic celebs, glad to see everybody has those! Anyways, back on to the topic of geocaching......
  5. Please tell me that there are people over there that are just as clueless as a lot of the population here? Pllleeeeeeeaaaase!
  6. We'd love to pre order a couple of these! Mr.Lost is a Sask native and really wants one!
  7. Or you could hide one like this nearby!
  8. This is hysterical!, I actually know somebody that has been in posession of a bowling ball travel bug, it even made it from Japan to Las Vegas. I'll have to do some research and find the page. Found the link: http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=140951
  9. OMG! I used to love those cartoons when I was a kid, forgot all about them!
  10. Yes, it sadly has gotten pretty bad . I take my coins to events and share them with other cachers to discover. I've known too many people to lose their coins in the wild. So far I have had pretty good luck with plain old travel bugs. One of mine was picked up in Regents Park in London yesterday! We just filmed a segment on geocaching that will air in the late fall on a syndicated program called Xterra planet. But like someone else had mentioned in this thread, I've introduced a lot of people to this that seemed really gung ho about it, but when it comes down to purchasing a GPSr, the intrest seems to fade, oh well. I personally kind of like it as less is better but then again I am still fairly new to the sport myself. So where do you draw the line? Ok, I just went back and read the chav story, people steal coins around here but I can honestly say I have never been urinated upon! Of course here you probably run a bigger risk of being shot
  11. John of all people ought to know better! Oh wait this could be Jodi???
  12. John of all people ought to know better!
  13. Agreed! Another civilian Native Nevadan here!
  14. I love reading these stories. I really like the show Lost and used to hang out in the forums over there. Actually a fellow poster in the Lost forums is what sparked my interest in geocaching, so I kept the same name LostinReno, I thought it was appropriate for both sites! Pretty boring, eh?
  15. What a drag, once again it falls on the same weekend as the GBES 4X4 Rally Might make it up there Sunday if we aren't completely burned out by then!
  16. We still pay it, ya just don't see it!
  17. I was down there last November, if you want a lot of caches in a short period of time, hit the area West of the strip, kind of near Henderson in the Silverado Ranch Area. Lots of urban ammo cans and larger caches, it was very cool! And seriously stop in the forums in Nevadageocaching.com, I'm sure some of the locals would love to meet up and take you caching!
  18. I would I'd love to come over there to cache! We were over there in early 2001 for my sister-in-laws wedding, bummed we didn't cache then
  19. Hi There! I don't know if any of this will help you out but...we just posted our seconed event cache yesterday for April 28th, basically our moderator over here said "Post it and they will come!" Which is what I named this event I think 6 or 7 cachers have signed up already! We did learn on our first one to plan for a bigger space than you think you will need. Our last one was on a Thursday night so we had it in one of our smaller pubs not thinking that more than maybe 20-30 people would show up with it being a weeknight. I think there were 40+ and some of them drove over 120 miles to be there. The one coming up in April is going to be on a Saturday night, so we are having it in a restaraunt that can accomodate a larger crowd than what we "think" we will need. We even have visitors coming from Las Vegas (over 400 miles away) It still boggles my mind as to how far people will commute just to attend an event!
  20. Check out NevadaGeocaching.com, you can get a lot of input there. They'd even take you caching if you wanted! Get a real Nevada experience! I've only found a few down there but one of my personal favs was "A Special Memory" You have to do the drive through! What they did to the ammo can is just hilarious! You get the feel of "seedy" Las Vegas while doing this one!
  21. I'm so bummed we couldn't make it down there this year, my friend phoned last night and rubbed it in that it was supposed to be in the 80's over the weekend, far cry from last years freeze! You know if the Canadians that are with you are cold, it freaking cold!
  22. You finally gave me an excuse to set up a paypal acct! Not too sure thats a good thing! Couldn't pass up this beautiful coin! Payment has been sent!
  23. It's ok Teri, he's only bragging becaus the state is only 80 miles wide down there, doesn't give him much room for error. Even if he goes backwards, it won't take too long to turn him around in the right direction!
