  1. here is pic from one of my caches in costa rica GCYAVV placed in august of 06 no finds yet
  2. briansnat...thanks for the heads up regarding a log book... i will work that out before i continue with that idea. an underwater log book....i 'll have to think about that one .again, thanks
  3. i am in the process of developing a scuba cache here in hawaii. my planis: 1. dont try to make it water proof. 2. use a plastic lock n lock container with hole thru bottom and thru top. 3. use poly rope to pass thru holes. the bottom side of rope would have weights on it to anchor to bottom or ledge 4. the top end would be knotted to keep lid from drifting away. 5. the interior would have a riddle or a question pertaining to the area or locale. the answer would need to be emailed to me to get credit for the find. 6. the coordinates would be the put in and then i would use compass directions for the underwater part, 7. it wouldnt be any deeper than 60 feet but deeper than 30 so you would have to scuba and to avoid snorkling muggles. 8 there would be no physical log. 9 TBs or coins would be welcome and i would have caribiner type claspe on the rope to hold them 10 i would probably start a few tbs that are plastic fish type toys anyway those are my ideas and the plan i am working on
  4. i will do hawaii...since we are th e50th state is it possible for us to be #50... let me know what i need to do and i will work on getting this cache going
  5. aloha.... i am also learning how to do this ...one thing i did learn is that the pic has to be in your gallery on the websites server in order to show up. hope this helps.....
  6. aloha...today i found "jewel on the Kona Coast" it was a long walk over lava. pahoehoe and a'a . (two type of lava) it was an easy find. i also found cigarettes a lighter and a large folding knife..... i liberated them and adde lots of fresh geo swag. many of th ecaches here in hawaii are in need of a cache angel as many well meaning tourists leave a cache thinking "oh yeah i'll be back" and after two or three years of tourists visiting them they get full of all kinds of crud. little drink umbrellas ....used chopsticks....hotel sewing kits, soap, shampoo etc... raunchy golfballs,tees..broken flip flops , empty suntan lotion etc i usually remove this stuff and add some real swag....... we now have about a dozen local cachers here and we are slowly getting good caches back in order.....
  7. aloha from hawaii......on the big island we only have 70 or so caches..... i am working my way thru those but you have to work for them as they are all spread out..... good excuse for a cache weekend in oahu... the y have 100 or so there...
  8. i live in hawaii and can place and maintain a cache on the island of hawaii
  9. aloha, in the same vein.... how do i get the photos on my profile page to be larger? they come from a larger source but are posted tiny is there html that describes size?
  10. aloha.... try pictures that are on us postage stamps...... there is no copyright on those. my father is a publisher and he uses stamps and monety for many illustrations of historical publications without the worry of copyright issues.
  11. since i live in hawaii i have come to understand why it may be a black hole forTBs that said there is a growing cache community here in kona. we will do our best to move those tbs along. many tourists come here and create caches that somehow get approved.... i have unofficially adopted 3 of them. they usually end up in a great location but full of wet mucky trash. and no trade items or tbs... i am going to release 8 tbs in the future to help replenish a few caches here. also i think many tourists like to keep i souvineer from their caching in hawaii.......we get many cruise ship cachers that cant log until they get home. i think some hobbyist cachers just forget......... i was gonna place a tb that i have had for a few weeks today but some silly earthquake made for a postponement of that plan..... island of hawaii has about 70 caches....not alot but the quality of some is very high.....many are easy finds but the locations are great...we have to work hard to get 3 or 4 in one day.......we plan on going to maui soon there are 100 or so there.
  12. yes indeed felt iy loud and clear here in kona. put a damper on a day of caching plans but noone was reported killed and no serious injuries... had amajor landslide near a popular cache..have to check it out and see if it was destroyed
