Hey GATOULIS, Here's some pictures of laser etched & cut tokens. Lasered Nickels The way these are manufactured, you could serialize them. Groundspeak won't sell tracking numbers for wooden tokens though, so to make them trackable you'd have to attach dog-tags to them. Cheers, ..Northbound

Hey Haughton's Hunters, It was Grey Owl's childhood dream to live in the wild like a North American Indian. Once he came to Canada his dream of living in the wild came true, and the "white" lie got out of hand. The movie based on his life gives the impression that he really did not like the spotlight. He only wanted to live in the wild and write books away from people. The world/media wanted to believe he was something larger than life... ...just like we do with our celebrities today. Two years ago we took a weekend and canoed to "beaver lodge". There are probably a few hundred people each year who hike, canoe or kayak there. The trip is not for the faint of heart, but those who go are rewarded with the wilderness that inspired Grey Owl some 80 years ago. --We were camping alone at the north shore of Kingsmere Lake on a quite calm evening. (to reach Ajawaan Lake, you must hike alongside or paddle on Kingsmere Lake) At dusk, there was a sudden stir in the forest behind us where a large buck came crashing through the campsite and plunged into the lake. Dusk is the worst time for mosquito's, and we figured it was running to the only place it could get away. He swam around for about 5 minutes and then left back into the forest about 250 meters from us. We look forward to visiting Ajawaan lake again this coming summer (hmm... ...eventcache idea?!? LOL) ...Northbound

The Saskatchewan Geocaching Association has released their first geocoin. Proceeds from the sale of this coin are to support the group. 175 Standard Edition (silver trim) and 125 Special Edition (gold trim) coins have been designed. The coin is a great match to our border province's Northern Manitoba Geocoin. Update: The Norman Geocoins were received late on May 24th. We were able to process and ship the first 22 orders this morning (May 25th). We will be processing and shipping the remaining orders over the weekend. I am sorry the process has taken so long, and thank everybody for their patience. Happy Caching, ..Northbound

I have received word that the coins have been FedEx'd from the factory and we expect to have them in our hands on May 23rd. We will be fullfilling orders as soon as we receive the coins.

Hi all. As it stands now, we are expecting to receive the coins at the end of next week. This is a far stretch from what we originally intended. Many of you have paid for your coins as early as March and we sincerely appreciate your support, as this geocoin would not have been possible without the pre-orders. I am very sorry with the delays. We have been working closely with the factory with many ideas on how to best make the “Norman Geocachers” on the front of the coin stand out. This added approximately 3 weeks onto the timeline. Due to all of the ideas and resulting revisions, our factory took it upon themselves to make a couple of sample coins for us. From a quality standard this was a great idea, but added another couple weeks delay to the final product. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to send me a private email.
