  1. I say do whatever works for you two... How do you feel about it... Would you rather have a single username to track all your finds and hides on or one for each of ya??? To me it seems easier to do it under one name/account... Easier to remember everything, posted, loged, edited, uploaded. etc... If you guys want to use one accout and both log, you could just start the log with something like: This log is being written by (insert yourname or some cute name) One half of Team (insertname) the proceed with Log data.... Or something like that... Later, I guess you could always create a second account and go from there if so needed... In the end, I think this game/hobby has a lot of flexibility... Good Luck and Have Fun!!!
  2. If your near the Brewery, you might also check out Gus' Pretzels right off Arsonal and Hwy 70...
  3. I think the stickers/stamps look nice, but I'm afraid they take up too much room on the logs and will fill them up too quick... So, I just sign my name...
  4. St. Louis Arch, Gotta go to the A.B. Brewery St. Louis Zoo (I hear we have one of the best zoos in the country) Tour a few Winerys out west, maybe to far to drive If you are downtown N.City area there is a old Candy/IceCream shop called Crown Candy, best Ice Cream and Malts/Shakes ever... Try their "Newport"... MAybe catch a game at the new stadium Strip Clubs on the East Side (also, hear we have the best in the country) Go somewhere for a Pork Stake, I'm told other places don't have pork steaks... Not sure why though... Every state has pigs... I'll add some more as I come up with them...
  5. I've found and searched for several caches in woods that were right near a course, but never one that was ""ON" the course...
  6. I'm only replying because I'm from St. Louis and I don't think we have that many people on here from ""The Lou"" and I'd hate to see no one reply... I would just look at the map and put in some zip codes like 63137, 63132 and pan around and see what you see that looks interesting... I've only got a few finds under my belt, so I don't feel comfortable saying, ""You gotta check these out!" We got a lot of parks and they seems to have pretty high densitys so you have more to find in an area... Creve Cour Park Spanish Lake Grants Trail Those are all parks that have several cool ones... Sorry, I didn't have more insight for ya, I just don't want to let you down... Please keep us updated and let us know which ones you hit and what you thought of them...
  7. Cybercat became a bit of a rock star locally for her nude pose to claim a find. This was all a bit before you came on scene. Early 2005. Not just locally, I love that shot of Cybercat! It's posted right next to my Jimi Hendrix poster. Well, Share the love...
  8. Sounds easey enough, but my questions are 1.) Once its in the ""[drive]:\garmin\gpx"" folder, what do you do to get it to recognise or run??? I've not done this yet, I'm just trying to get the idea in my head... 2.) Do the caches on the PQ, apear on the list when you click on the Geocache preset? 3.) when you look at the ""[drive]:\garmin\gpx"" folder the next time, are all the caches unpacked and in that folder or still just all in the xxx.gpx file? I was wondering for clean up purposes... 1. Nothing to do - the Colorado will just see it and take care of it - as long as you are below the 200 file/2000cache limit. 2. All the caches in the GPX file(s) will be available on the unit under the Geocaching mode (up to limit). Usually just shows those closest to you at any given time. 3. All you will see is the GPX file(s) - only way to "clean" it up is to remove the GPX and add a new one. Cool, Understood... Thank ya much!!!

  10. Having used both I really like a GPSr with a Topographical map... Helps you judge eleveation, creeks, streams, and any other obstacales... You can see whats 20 feet from you and whats a mile from you... vs. ---> Just and arrow pointing thatway saying 900 ft....
  11. Some time the title is a better hint than the actual hint... I recently found one called ""Back and Forth""" the hint was "down under".... After looking around for about 20 mins I looked at the title again and said back and fourth and looked around me, saw what looked like a metal porch swing... hmm back and fourth... Looked under it and bingo... Was held in place by a magnet...
  12. We went to St. pete Beach in Florida right at teh end of spring... I went to the map and put in the address of the hotel we were staying at and there were 10 in a 1/2 radius... One of them was even on the hotel property... I think I found 6 of the 10 I went looking for...
  13. Wow, 100 in a day.... That seems a bit much to me... But thats just me... Seems like it would take a full day or so to go back and recall and log everything... I'm happy if we get 5-10 in a day... I could see 20 maybe...
  14. I haven't placed any caches yet, but that exactly how I feel... I'm not going to waste what little pree time I have trying to be a detective... If you wanna cheat, Cheat... Your only cheating you.... I enjoy being outside and the challenge of finding the cache... The fact that I got off my couch and saw a pretty cool area or something new that I would not have normally is just a bonus... I'm sorta impressed just by the sheer number of new parks that I've found in my area or areas that I know... If someone wants to cheat and inflate their stats, I guess so be it... If they hurry up and mark everything as found then they get a great big found # and are done... They'ed have nothing else left to enjoy about the hobby... Their bad... On a side note, I really wanna thank everyone again that has took the time and effort to place a cache and do the online work to make it avalible!!! Without you all,, this would not be....
  15. I just started a facebook a few days ago, so I'm no expert on it... I know its all the rage, but I'm not sure I really like face book much... I guess I just don't like the way its organized... http://www.facebook.com/Scott.Mullen73 Anyone wanna join my Mafia??? My wife got me playing it and that Farm Game... I added link to Geocaching.com to my little facebook page...
  16. Hi On the left side of the Geomate.jr is a flap. Lift this flap up from the bottom and you'll find a connection port. In about two weeks or so we will be releasing an Update Kit (http://www.mygeomate.com/update_kit) that comes with a cable that you will be able to plug into the Geomate.jr and your computer. This Update Kit is your key to unlimited updates for your Geomate.jr - including all traditional, non-premium caches for the US and any other country! Cheers Warren Thanks Warren, a friend and fellow Geocacher just asked me about the kit like five minutes ago... I said, I don't know, should be out soon, but I'll look online, I'm sure they'll have something on it... I have to say, having someone in the know about the product is really nice.... I really with Garmin (or other GPRs makers) would have a few people spend some time in the forums like you do... Sure, they might take some heat at 1st, but I really think that long therm it would be in their and our better interests... Thanks again for sticking around and spreading the knowledge!!!!
  17. I don't do scrapbooking in the traditioanl sense... But I do try and take pics on the way to and from alot of the caches that I /we find... I have a pretty decent sized external H.D. and I have a folder called Digial Pics/Geocaching/Date-Geocahing Area-CacheName/ then all the pics for that cache are in that folder... I haven't really been really into it for long and I've only found like 20 something caches, so I don't have many yet... That link you posted, I think it would be neat to hang that thing up in my Cabin or in my basement around where I keep all my outdoorsy stuff..
  18. Milage will very, but I would not have a problem with it.... I've revisited several caches, that I either thought were cool caches/finds or I liked the hike and scenery on the way or around them... Of course I did not make or try to mark them as additional finds... Not even sure if its possible...
  19. I've seen it a few times, but each time its been no where near as bad as what we were all up in arms about before... Its only lagged pretty bad, never timed out this go round... I just hope we're not building up to what we had before... I wonder with the everything working semi-smoothly now, are they still looking at upgrading to that other software???? It would be cool, if they had a Current Projects and status updates page, that was either a goecaching.com page or a pinned post in the forum... That is unless they already have it and I just did not see it... I hate it when I come up with what I think is a great idea and someones like, Uhhh, we've had that for 2 years now, just click here ..............
  20. I'm offended by that... J/K... I really do agree, with you that is... We just had a big ole' heated debate on this in the office yesterday... This country has gone way to PC and alot of people get way to offended about way to little of a thing.... Just my opinion... I'm sure its bound to offend someone... Isn't it written in the Bill of Rights somewhere that we have the right to never be offended by anyone or anything? I'm guessing you are joking... Sometimes its hard to tell the mood or exact frame of mind via typed text... ***Edit*** But just in case, http://www.usconstitution.net/const.html#Am2
  21. I go to "Set up Notifications" from the "My Profile" page and I can edit from there. Pretty mcuh what I said, but what about after you have edited... can you see all the Alerts you've created, then edit them if you wish??? If so, I must (and very well maybe) doing something wrong...

  23. Unless the OP did somethign to it, the Nuvi should have all of the US in it... He is from Boston and is in Idaho... Should not be a problem, unless the unit is acting up...
