  1. People find out about it on their own, there's no need to "promote" it. We don't need/want any more cache rogues, and the like.

Why do you think the BCGA withdrew the offer to the media for the upcoming event? Because the majority of the members do not want it. Seems you do and are now stirring it up in here. There's only 2 people who are pro-media, you and "someone else" in my neighbourhood. :)

  2. It's bad, VERY BAD. It's in fact a dumb idea to promote media exposure. It looks like you want the authorities (parks boards, etc.) to find out about our little hobby. People find out about it okay on their own.

  3. Well let me spell it out for you.

He (MrG) was caught cheating and denied it.

Then he became an approver and everyone complained. So he "gave the position up" apparently.

Then Cache-Advance, a new guy became our local approver, and we all knew it was him. Jeremy denied it.

Finally the truth is out. MrG didn't log out of his approver account before posting this find log (which he did not cheat on). So not all did MrGigabyte lie but so did Jeremy.

Things that make you go Hmmmmm.<_<

  4. Not in BC!

I called our local C-T and they hadn't received any correction thus far, and have placed one aside at the catalogue price of $199. They have since corrected the price, but are still selling me one unit @ $199. For you folks back east, try making a few phone calls out west - you may be in luck!

    Cheers,

    - Matt

I'd be interested in seeing the receipt for your purchase, else quite honestly I don't believe you got it for $199. And that's in person, not some made up photoshop receipt you'll post on here. Show me and I'll believe you.

  5. A new cache recently appeared near me and the first line of the description reads:

"Steal a pen from somewhere and exchange it for another."

Is it just me, or does anyone else feel this was an odd thing to approve? The cache itself is an interesting idea, but I think this description sends out a wrong signal.

This reminds me of a recent log I made about the origins of a pen in a cache. :)

  6. My bad - I see now that Jeremy was refering to RobertM's post...

I overlooked that, honest mistake - no need for futility...

    Cheers,

    - Matt

What are you talking about? The finger was pointed at you because Jeremy knows it was you. See his posts in this topic and the original one started by Team KFWB GPS. Are you saying I was the one? Accusations are not something to be thrown around. I've already clicked the Report button to report your post to the moderators as it is way out of line. To stick with the guidelines of this website / forums I will not continue this discussion here (or anywhere for that matter) as this type of thing is not appreciated by Groundspeak. An apology from you for trying to point the finger at me, when even Groundspeak know you are the guilty little kid, would be appreciated. End of discussion for me.

  7. I realized after I wrote what I did that You were not there when a bit of gossip started up at the Belcarra event. You were up with the main group with your sister.

As for my opinions, they are not my only my own. There IS frustration among some cachers in this area about the forum fights, ect that have happened in the last few months. I am not the first to express frustration about it either.

I said in my apology that I still believed "many" of my points were still valid.

    Not "All"

I've admitted I was wrong in the way I approached it, and am glad you took the time to respond.

    Thanks.

    Hi BeDoggy,

Correct, I did not gossip at the Belcarra event. I did not even know people gossiped at the event until you said so now.

Not sure what frustration there could be with me. I've looked at my forum posts here on GC.com going back to about Christmas time (back 2 months) and see no "forum fights" that I've been involved in. Perhaps you could point them out to me as I have no idea what you are referring to.

I don't see how ANY of your points are valid towards me. Apology accepted though, for what it's worth, as you don't appear to be apologizing for saying things about me that certainly aren't true, just they way you approached it.

    Thanks

  8. I want to offer an apology to you guys for the way I mishandled the offering of my opinion on Gorak's thread, titled "What would you do?"

Although I still believe that many of the general points I made are still valid, the way I handled it was wrong. Having met all three of you I can say that you are a good bunch, and my criticism was far too harsh, judgemental and lacking in respect.

As for bringing up things that were said in confidence and in person, I deeply regret doing it and will not do it ever again.

I think that those who have met me would say that what I said in those posts is not characteristic of the way I usually do things. And although I know the personal reason why I got so unreasonable I won't use it as an excuse here.

There was no excuse, and I offer my apology in good faith, hoping that you will accept it in the spirit in which it was given.

    Brent.

    Hi BeDoggy,

Not exactly sure how to handle this as I've never spoken to you, directly or via e-mail, so I'm not sure what I could have said in confidence to you that you brought up.

We have met, but I don't think we spoke. That was at the Belcarra Event. I don't recall telling you anything in confidence there either.

The criticism of me is based on your opinion (probably from the GC.com and BCGA forums), and everyone is entitled to their opinion. Maybe an apology for bad-mouthing me based on your opinion would be more appropriate.

I'm still rather confused as to what exactly you are apologizing for. It seems you are apologizing for the way you done something, not because you did it.

  9. I think the second part of the thread topic is the hidden agenda behind it all.  As far as I'm concerned the thread here and the same identical thread posted within the bcgeocaching site have the intent to bring defamation on someone, unless the thread starter can prove and provide basis for what he says.  I would be the first to say that the "airing of dirty laundry", which is really what this is, has really become tiresome at both sites.  I hope that the concerned parties really read what you've put in the latter half of your post.

    Doc Macgoo,

Feel free to contact me if you'd like to meet and listen to the audio clip of the voicemail message I received. I will not be pasting it on any forums as that would not be appropriate.

If anyone wants to contact me about this issue feel free to e-mail me through the GC.com site. I'd be more than happy to meet with people if they wish to discuss this with me.

    Thanks
