  1. QUESTION HERE. If the difficulty rating is raised after several finds is it applied to prior finds? Have had some comments about one of my hides recently and I somewhat agree that perhaps difficulty should be higher due to footing aspects.
  2. Is there a way to test a background image appearance before submitting for review/approval/publication?
  3. An event from 10:00am to 10:30am, then an event from 10:30am to 11:00am at the same coordinates. Like a WWFM, then a M&G. THE RULE: was a direct quote from the reviewer note I received after the second event was submitted. I did correct a misspelled word in the note.
  4. THE RULE: "This event is not allowed because it's too close to your previously published event in both time and distance. There needs to be at least 4 hours between events, or events separated by 1.0 mile." In my mind Event Stacking, an event IMMEDIATELY following a prior event at the same coordinates, makes environmental and economic sense. Less driving and the results and costs associated with that driving. Possible cost of two sites. Participants time. Two events at different coords at different times or two events at same coords in succession? JUST SAYIN'
  5. There is a problem with the detailed map display page for the individual cache pages.
  6. One of my cache hides had a find date logged as 11/24, yet when I looked at the members profile they were shown as last being on line 11/20. Number of hides for members that I have as My Friends does not match the number of hides in their profile. Just wondering. Why?
  7. At this point I think the 18th is best. So does this mean we need to brush up on our pole dancing and skirt lifting skills? I like the awards banquet idea. BAKO1313 = JACK
  8. Yep, Keep the fire burnin' & bring your list.
  9. Shout out to Hedge, Be sure to bring a fresh Sharpie Marker, your autograph maybe requested.
  10. We have never cached in a pack before (outside of the family) might be something to consider. Not trying to stiffle discussion here, but I think TB race idea is a good point to bring up Friday eve. I have a couple of ideas I want to float also. See ya Friday!! Keep liftin those skirts on dem Poles.
  11. Very interesting!! I was thinking everone would have to look for us.
  12. MMMMMM, probably depends on the spirit, vocal inflection and whether the article A preceeds. "You a cracker, Jack!" probably not good. "Yo, Crackerjack!" OK
  13. Owner of the establishment probably would not be happy if you brought your own beverage and I think the local constabulary take a dim view of parking lot consumption. Vertical challenge? Parking lot is level and it is only one small step up from the lot to the side walk. As we used to say in the day, "No hill, for a STEPPER!"
  14. OK, So here's the dealieO. Some time shortly after we get off work, 5:00pm ish, on Friday May 9, 2008 BAKO1313 & MRS will be inside the establishment at N 35 22.084 W 119 02.899 (You know plus or minus a few feet) We will be enjoyin' some Hawaiian Pizza, Hot Wings and putttin out the fire with a cold Amber Bock. Might have TreasureHuntingHomies with us. Stop in to eat and chat about GeoWoodstock VI, caching in general, see who we are, etc, etc, etc. Ya it's short notice, but, this is my feeble effort to get something going with this KCC thingy. Maybe I'll have a prize for the First to Find Me and call me the Secret Word. (CrackerJack)
  15. RE: Geowoodstock VI. Our group or gaggle of 5, Bako1313 & Mrs along with daughter and 2 grandsons, will be leaving early Fri. morn on the 23rd (I hope) and returning to BFL on the 27th. Will be staying at the Heritage Express in Rocklin. If you see us wandering around lost or not give us a shout out. I am waiting for a call from a writer from BFL Mag. for a phone interview about Geocaching, but since they interviewed one of the more prolific and proficient local cachers yesterday, perhaps I am waiting in vain. I thing we are due for a social event. Pizza & Pepsi (Amber Bock) on a Fri. or Sat. evening? Any takers? BAKO1313
  16. BAKO1313 & MRS have made arrangements to attend along with the TREASUREHUNTINGHOMIES family. Flushes previously replied to my posting of the same question. "Regarding Geowoodstock VI, the Flushes will be there." BAKO1313/Jack
  17. I'm guessing someone had a great sale on nano magnet containers. Or perhaps no one wants to trade stuff any more. I have a large cache container out (mailbox) with lots of swag, some from me some from past visitors and all that seems to move through it recently is TBs & coins.

  19. Wondering if anyone in this group has made plans or is making plans to attend GeoWoodstock VI? We - BAKO1313 & MRS (Jack & Sherry) are working on going and hope to have Grandsons (and maybe their Mom & Dad) along with us. Another topic: How about a social event somewhere after the first of the year to kick off KCC? Pizza & Pepsi (BEER)? Tony's on California Ave? Cataldo's at Stockdale and Real? Other ideas? MRS advised me this morning that Santa has my number, hope she was referring to coordinates. Merry Christmass to all!! BAKO1313 & MRS
  20. POSTED TO INCORRECT AREA
  21. OK, slow in responding sort of like the way I find caches. We (BAKO1313 & MRS) are up for a local organization. I will toss out a logo idea or 2 to be chewed on and spit out. 1. GPSr image w/satellite screen over an outline of Kern county, pulled up from an outline of California. 2. GPSr image over an outline of California w/Kern county outline on the screen. Maybe it is already in the works. BAKO1313
  22. NEVER MIND I FIGURED IT OUT!!!!
  23. I attended GC13QJ2 CITO EVENT ON July 28, 2007 and posted a log entry, but stats have not changed to reflect attendance and the info in not appearing in my personal profile. My log entry does show up in the log entries for this event. Wondering if I have done something incorrectly. Thanks, BAKO1313
  24. The last weekly notification stressed the importance of labeling a cache. Cache labels that are available from the various speciality retail sources have a spot for GCXXXX identification. To get the GCXXXX identification onto a cache you have placed do you need to go back and do that after the cache is published? Would you use your geocaching.com user name for further contact information on the lable? Thanks for any help you can provide this beginner. BAKO1313
