  1. Seriously? Does this mean I need to go out tonight and somehow try to snag a permit??? I have one.
  2. Um, a Mega Event was just held in Germany about a month ago - GCYNMZ. And 50% of the current Project APE caches are outside the US.
  3. Well shoot kelita, you just found my Dumb Luck Detour cache - so... you leastwise know a little somethin' about me. I'd like to drive, but would love some company (not to mention a bit daunted by all the talk of spurs, FRS' 'n downed trees, etc.), so... might be fun to get lost together. I may have a chum along but won't know for sure for a day or two. Like the Rover, I plan to set out about 7 am from Left Seattle (with a quick stop in Olympia to snag a "Moon Tree.") 'Tis true. Sounds like a good idea to me. Also, I finally went and purchased a good map of the area and all makes sense now.
  4. So, I'm a little torn between "It seems absurd to drive all the way out there solo" and "My mom always taught me not to take rides from strangers." I'm not sure which way I'll fall with that. I don't really know any of you at this point, sadly. FWIW, I'm coming from North Seattle. I'd at least like some company on the trails. As a point of clarification, are we hiking 858 and turning onto 851 or do we continue on 858 to go to moonshine flats? I'm getting a little confused looking at the maps and lists.
  5. That's good to know. I've been mostly a car camper in the past. I just borrowed a bunch of the more expensive gear from my boss whose garage looks like a mini-REI. That makes it easier to try stuff out first. I'm getting pretty excited for this.

The plan to attend section actually shows events for 30 days following your will attend entry. If the event is sooner than that, it stays there after the event. If it is further than 30 days, it falls off before the event in question. Yours should drop off momentarily. Note that it isn't functioning as intended, but it is predictable at least.
  7. She was happy with all her visitors last night. (Does that work?)
  8. You know, it's funny, despite my history of adamantly not carrying a purse for the last 14+ years (I can't remember if I carried one in high school or not), it was geocaching that made me change my ways. It was very hard for me to give in, but over the last couple months I've made the transition. It's just a regular cheap purse. I think I got it at Target or something. The pockets are perfect for all the bits of electronics I need to carry around with me though. I still find it ironic that this is the activity that made me do it. I'm still trying to convince myself it's OK.
  9. Yep. I'm getting "spammed" right now. My first thought was, "Wow! A lot of people are logging in the middle of the night..."
  10. Hmmm. It'd be really hard to help while holding/reading my new Harry Potter book at the same time. I'm hoping to not put it down all weekend so I can survive without spoilers. Though I *suppose* I could painfully break my grip for a brief bit of time. Does the park really need all that much cleanup anyway?
  11. I know the park and area you're talking about pretty well seeing as I live in the neighborhood. It's usually pretty much the same cast of characters that shows up for these types of things in the neighborhood, especially at the park. I'd recommend going out there and explaining it to some people at the first work party. The info would then filter down at later work parties. It'd probably be safest that way. The parks department probably wouldn't help in this case, as I think it's mostly neighborhood residents working on these things.
  12. Wow. That kind of makes me want to visit Utah just for that. That's very cool.
  13. Wish I was going to be in town. I'd like a little primer. I'm usually pretty good at stuff like this once I know the possibilities.
  14. What are you viewing them in? Is it possible there is some kind of filter or sorting problem? Just trying to rule out the obvious.
  15. Not wrong, just different. -ize is American, -ise is British (and other English speakers). Don't know about the error though.
  16. Yay! It's working!

When you click on the image link, you haven't actually gone to a new page. You have to click "close" on the bottom of the image to see the page you were on again. It isn't "Back", so that's why the back button isn't available.
