  3. I disagree. I am not a premium member anymore and only vist GC.com 2-3 times a month (severe arthritis in my knees extremely limits my caching adventures). I do not get an e-mail notification that I have an unread message, and thus, sometimes do not see it for 2-3 weeks (and once in a while that is too late). I do get emails for my cache logs, but I have a puzzle cache where people must qualify with a bookmark list, and provide me with that list.......guess I'll just have to add to the cache description that all communications about that cache must be in the form of an e-mail, and that I may not get/see a message sent any other way.

  5. The receiver is the Garmin COLOR GPS 76CX. This unit sat on the dashboard of my truck for 2 years. It is in great shape. 6. Problem disappeared as fast as it appeared...............all set here. Steve
  7. Well, the hamsters to be have also awarded me the title of "Super Surfer". When do I get my plaque? Seriously........I was on google map page showing cache icons. Clicking on icons to see cache title, owner and star ratings, to see if they'd be of any interest to me. I was gonna bookmark the ones I wanted to set up for a "run" next weekend. Yupp, scrolled the map pretty fast (not much cache densitry in this part of michigan), and clicked on icons as they appeared. I did move from one to another pretty quickly, and occasionally opened the full cache page for a quick glance (opened in a new browser window), closed it, and returned to clicking on icons and scrolling the map. Normal surfing tools/habits for me...........no accelerators, addons, enhancements, or special software. Going fast, ya, but I don't believe my speed could be confused with some automated search tactic. Heck, I'm not even paperless yet (the ol' "why change it if it ain't broke attitude"). Status quo keeps me up and running.........I don't have the time for all this "newfangled stuff", but do have the cache for printer toner and paper. Humm, maybe I should reconsider? I was totally surprised to see the "Whoa" page, and, at first, thought my browser had been "kidnapped" or I had somehow got a virus. Steve
  8. Using Win XP Professional w/ ie 7.0 Issue #1: I can create bookmarks just fine, but when I edit them (try) I get an error page. I can delete them and redo them, but no editing........This has been going on the last 3 days. OOPs! Guess I should have looked down the firum a tad bit further....I see this one has been addressed. I apologize. Issue #2: Tonight, I am not receiving any of my cache log notification e-mails.....I am getting the e-mails from the finders with required information, the logs do appear on the cache page, but I have not been receiving e-mail notifications of the "found logs" since 3pm est. Not receiving trackable (Geocoin) log in/out confirmation e-mails either. Yes, I am getting other e-mails from Groundsprak. Anyone else??
  9. Cache pages taking 3-4 minutes to load today. Gave up! Drinking "refreshments" and watching TV instead. Rather be cachin'!
  10. I believe most wouldn't mind paying for them (and shipping)..............plus a little profit for GSA. Give them an option (for all 4) to purchase or just accept the logo. Ya might be surprised! Steve
  11. I checked mine and have not received a refund yet, and I did request one when the old website was still available. Any contact information included in that email? Business Name: West Coast Cacher Buyer Email: mesamint@gmail.com Steve
  12. My $55+ was refunded to PayPal on July 10.........................surprised, as I had prertty much written it off. Attached e-mail stated they will refund/send coins to all participants.
  13. It doesn't happen all the time, and mainly on the print "no logs" page. I've pretty much figured out how to avoid the problem. Blank sections only appear to happen when the description/other information is long, and I close (click on the little arrows on the left side of the printer friendly page) certain sections not needed (to save printer supplies). I've also found that always reducing the map at the end of the listing to the lowest resolution choice eliminates it as well. Closing the map also allows the top part to print. Since I do not get this type of problem on any other web pages, I have to assume its a bug in IE (or a setting) or the GS page itself. Now I check "print preview" every time to make sure I get what I need...........shouldn't have to do that though. Steve
  14. Not sure if it is IE only, but I only have that problem with the print "no logs" pages only, AND only when I include the high resolution map. If I reduce the map to the lower resolution I do not experience the problem. The problem started about 2 months ago on 2 different computers........one runnning IE6 and another running IE7. Steve
  15. Please.......no lectures on going paperless. When I find a cache page I want to print, I click the "no logs" (print) option. Cache page comes up on IE. I click print, and the top section of the pages does not print.........they all start with the short description leaving a large empty space at the top of the page...........No coords printed. Yup, I'm logged in, all other web sites print just fine, and a normal cache page with logs prints just fine. I've tried all sorts of settings within my printer and IE and it won't work. Every once in a while one will print completely. Anyone else having this problem? Any ideas on how to rectify it? Thanks. Da 'man
  16. I tried to use the logo on my Isle Royale National Park Geocoin, and was told I needed GSA approval. E-mailed them and never received a reply. I used an "edited" version of the logo, close, but not an exact copy.
  17. Possibilities for a very interesting event cache...... GC1NMBN March - April Meet and Greet! 4/13/09 Steve
  18. For some reason..when Groundspeak did the latest upgrade.......all of my HTML for spacing, <br>, turned into </br> or <br/> and did not work to leave the intended line spaces. As I said above, I just went in and removed all the "/" from those comands and it "went back to normal". It did the same thing to my wife's and grandsons profile as well. As of this am, none of our pages will let us click on "select" to choose a GPS. Steve
  19. Mine did the same thing................the latest website update did it to mine. I had to go through my whole profile and change all the </br> and <br/> (used for a line spacing) to just <br>. Steve

    My GPS

I got to the page and made my selections, but absolutely nothing when I click the "submit" button. I have to click my browsers back button to get out of that page. I use 2 different GPSr's and would like the option to select more than 1. Yup, IE 6.xxx. No way will I go to IE7 or firefox.
  21. Well, I like the new print cache page setup, BUT.............when I go to those pages it crasches IE 6.XXX. I know.....get version 7 or Firefox....................if I really wanted either one of them I would already have them. Also............I get the My GPS page and make the selections and it won't let me save them.
  22. My wife, hitehgal, sent in her submission for the platinum level on December 21 and received her pin on January 28. Not bad at all....we expected another 2-3 weeks at least, and 'gal was pleasantly surprized at what she considered an early arrival. He must have his hands full, and we feel he is doing a mighty fine job. Keep up the good work. Looks like you may have to get some help with the popularity of EarthCaches growing as fast as they are. Hang in there, Geoaware. We all appreciate the time and effort you put into this. Steve
  23. When I shipped my geocoins to Canada in June via USPS 1st Class International to Canada it was taking 2 1/2 to 3 weeks. Steve
