  1. I pay. After getting started and seeing that I liked it. I felt like I needed it support it. Back before the internet, there were bulletin boards. My son had one, it got so large that he had one computer for it. A few donated most didn't they were the one that complained the most. Mejas
  2. Thanks Jeremy I like the new look very much. The Ignore list is great I have taken about 28 listing off of the first two pages. They are puzzle caches. There are about 25 more micro caches in grave yards around town that I will add to the list. Again Thanks. Mejas
  3. I have been ask a few times. I always have the sheet for the cache with me and show it to them. Most think it is a nice hobby. I do not show them the cache. Today I was looking and the security guards kept driving by and watching me, I just waved to them. Once in a state park there were two rangers in the hide area looking around. When they saw me park and get out with my GPS one of them came over and said he would like to go with me to the cache. I told him no I couldn't do that. He promest he would not tell any one where it was hidden. After we found it and was talking he said he would like one hidden out on the trail. So the next week when I went back to hide it, He told me he had to go in to town and for me to go a head and hide it and he would hunt it. Later when I went back he said he had seen it on the computer and he would like another one back there. A very nice trail with serval old home steads on it. Mejas
  4. Each night I bring up the nearest cache pages ( to my home cords) startes out with one I own and those I have found. I like to scan down and see who has found what that day. Even the ones that I will not go after for one reason or another. (some people like them) When I am planning a day to go out caching I use the Filter finds pages. and that's when the ones that I don't care for takes up half the page. I don't want to do away with the cache because other cachers enjoy them. I would just like for them not to show up on my page. I don't want to clam a find that would make the found count useless. I would just like to check a box and they not show on the filter find page. If I every changed my mine (which I have ) I could still get to them on the closest cache page. And as for the remarks on paying. If you enjoy and use the GC site you should be happy to help pay a small fee for the use of the site. back in the early day of computers my son had a Bulletin Board. The ones that complain the most were the one that use it free. Mejas
  5. I post the information in the cache log. Then send an email to the bug owner that I did not see his bug. The owner should then grab the bug to get it out of the cache listing. The reason you went to the cache and the results of your venture is why cache owners want the ability to remove bugs that are not in the cache. But that is another argument. The bug in question was taken by a first time cacher. He has been e-mailed. Mejas New cacher still hasn't loged the bug or answerd e-mail. Mejas

    Ownership

  8. If it was given to a none cacher and they don't what to do with it (so it want be log in Boston) How will every show it has reached its goal? Mejas Love caching
  9. I picked up a bug the other day that is over a thousand miles from where it started and only shows 204 miles. Who ever picked it up and brought it to the east coast did not log it in or out. I did not find this out till I got it home and loged a fine. It wants to go to the west coast. I'm going to try and move west about a hundred miles. Mejas Love caching
  10. I though the tag was the travel bug. and you only added some object if you wanted to. and that you just put it out and watch and see where it went. If every one will log it in & out. Mejas Love caching
  11. You can also get to from any cache page. Mejas Love caching

I did this for one of mine and got a real ulgy reply telling me that they would place it when they got back into caching. I'm still waiting. they picked it up in Feb. still have it. 14. I did claim my travel bug back. But all I have is the name the jerk still has the bug. Jeremy has closed his account. But what will keep him from opening another one in a differnt name? Are just going out and taking them. Mejas Love caching
  15. I thank the travel bug tag should be enough. It tells the person that gets it to move it on. Mejas Love caching
  16. I placed a Geocoin in a cache a none cacher took it. I have left the Icon there as a reminder to the Cacher who took him to the cache. Maybe he will get him to log it. Mejas Love caching
  17. It has now been 29 days sense the teacher stole my travel bug. Mejas
  18. They are WAY cool! I want some! I worry they might be too cool and disaapear even more than regular TBs. I don't care. And please don't change them to plastic Mark I've placed two of the coins one was taken by a none cacher four days after it was placed. The other was picked up by a cacher and logged proper. If someone says they've taken it but it is still logged into the cache I check the user's profile. It's usually a newbie that isn't aware that they need to make two log entries. I simply e-mail them and gently remind them to log them out (and back in when they drop them off). I have done this only to fine that they dropped it in another cache and didn't get the number from the tag. Also if I take a TB that isn't yet logged into a cache I will usually wait a day for the person that dropped it off to make their entry before grabbing it myself. Me too. 20. I went to check on two of my caches today in a State Park. The ranger that I usually talk with was off this weekend. I talked to the head ranger he new about all four caches in the park but he hasn't been to mime yet they are back out on the trail. The first cache has been there sense Sep. 2001. He ask how long was it going to stay. My answer was till it ever gave a problem Then if he let some of us know we would remove it. He has my card. He said no problem. the other cache in the park had given them a problem at frist but he said it was no problem now, its still there. he said the ones on the trail were ok some of the other ranger had check on them. With new cachers and people coming from far away there is still a lot of cacher logging them. Mejas
  21. All these people talking about not logging out after a session. Does this put a lode on the system? Sorry if dum question. Mejas Love caching
