In the last time (since a couple of month), the geocaching.com server reacts very slow to requests from Europe, particularly in the evening.
Especially the cache layer on the map is so slow, that it is hard to use it.
To handle requests faster, a server based in Europe (which caches the requests from there and load only data from the main server in Seattle if really necessary) would be very helpful to increase the speed and stability of the page.
Let me give an example, the data centers of Wikimedia. Yes, of course, their pages have a lot more traffic; but the concept can be the same for geocaching.com: They have data centers on different continents to serve their content with a low latency. Speeding up the geocaching.com website this way would enhance the user experience a lot for European Geocachers (which are second biggest geocaching community after the US)
