  1. As far as I can tell, this issue is a synchronization problem that's been around for months and is not related to the app version. It rather seems that when you log out and in again when installing the app again, regardless of the version, the data between the app and the online world is synchronized. I seem to recall that for some users sometimes it helped to just log out and in again.
  2. Is this related to what I posted just now?
  3. Is this probably the same issue known for months and mentioned and experienced by many? I also once created a thread about this.
  4. Hi Eisi777! Dazu gibt es hier einen thread (there's a thread about this here):
  5. Hi garenkreiz! Do you have an example, a GC where you noticed this behaviour?
  6. Hi hzoi, this would be a different feature. You might want to think about writing a new thread for this, so it can be discussed there.
  7. These days I was out in mountains hiking and -of course- geocaching. The area was quite empty of anything, so I had to zoom out a lot to find a cache or a village or anything. But looking at the map in the app I found most interesting that there was no visible scale. Just by looking at the map I had no way of telling how much of the countryside I was looking at and therefore about the distances I was looking at. Clicking on a cache showed me the distance to it, okay, but wouldn't it be nice to have a small scale in the corner like you basically have in any map you look at? I'm using the latest official geocaching app and I attached a random screenshot.
  8. Wow, this topic got hot fast. Like a hotdog in a 5G microwave oven. I even have to wrap my hands in foil, so I don't get burned typing a response. Back to the beginning: I also disagree to the proposal of having response metrics. If you're close to the cache and have a problem and the CO responds within minutes, then you're very lucky and if there's no response that fast, then you're just not. I might even say, that there's no Geocaching emergency. We're living in extremely fast, modern times, but not everything is always instantly available or possible. If you got a narrow time window and didn't manage, then it's just tough luck. I haven't found many caches yet and would have found quite a few more if I just would've had more time. That teaches me more than having more caches.
  9. Sorry, no idea. It's working for me. Tried adding to existing list as well as new list using Chrome under Ubuntu as well as Win 10.
  10. Yes, this is a very common thing to do e.g. when you've calculated the final coords of a mystery cache.
  11. Hi The3PCs, as much as I'd like to have better news, I think you'll have to log the missing caches again. To my experience the logs are lost. Your app will synchronize with the official database, turning the smileys into regular icons again on the map the next time you log out and in again in the app. There's a few people who've seen this problem, check out the other thread I mentioned. The "drafts" are currently best used just as a marker in the app that you've found the caches (with the correct timestamp), but you better finalize the logs from the website afterwards.
  12. Great, perfect! I didn't see that it it was possible to leave the country dropdown blank. Back to the main topic: so, with other tools (Project GC as well as GSAK, which I haven't used yet) it is possible to get a map with all your finds including the archived caches. All in all this isn't easy and intuitive.I also find this an important feature and I agree with PFALZBOCK that I'd like to see my finds of archived caches in geocaching.com, too. Call me sentimental but sometimes I use geocaching e.g. to remember where I've been on vacations.
  13. Hi hzoi, thanks for pointing out. But if you then go to "Map these geocaches", then you don't get to see the archived caches on the map, they won't be shown.
  14. Thanks, Blue Square Thing. Project GC is pretty helpful for this. Is it also possible to set a filter for all geocaches I've found regardless of the country? Otherwise it's limited to one country.
  15. Hi ilukaperi! It's interesting to hear that even drafts disappear from the app. Disappearing drafts is new as compared to logged caches disappearing. It's good they're still available on the website, but still this is a bug that I think must be solved. HQ, can somebody please take care?
  16. Ah, too bad. I don't have a Samsung and therefore can't get this app. Sorry, can't help you with this. Anybody else?
  17. I'd like to check whether this happens on my cellphone, too. Can you please describe how to get this activity list?
  18. Which cache do you mean, do you have an example?
  19. @Cerberus1: thanks for taking the time to explain to me how to do it. It was there the whole time, I just failed to see it somehow. My bad! In the future I'll be more careful with reporting full logs and all.
  20. You're right, give me a button and I'll click it. :-D But how do you write a NM log after you've logged it already? It's also quick and easy to log your find, all excited that were successful and how great a cache you've found, and only remember afterwards that you'd wanted to mention that the logbook was full. I'm just worried this might be a problem once the old version is disabled, which will probably happen some day.
  21. I was also looking for a way how to report that a cache needs maintenance after I'd logged it and found this thread. It worked with the old version of the logging page as mentioned, but still I'd like to ask why this feature isn't available anymore on the new version? I think it's pretty essential and I wouldn't know how to do it (without the old version).
  22. Okay, several hours is not enough obviously. It happened again today. :-) So, we've found a bug. How does this work here now, will somebody file a problem report, trouble ticket or something?
  23. The delay between website and app might be interesting. I'll try again with logging on the phone and checking the website a day or two later. I also tend to like logging with my PC more, but when I don't have a PC e.g when I'm vacation, I'd also like to log with the app.
  24. Ok, this is a bug and niraD just showed us a way to work around it. Thanks! It's definitely an option. I was confused.
