  7. Mrs Derschlings thought I was NUTZ for setting the alarm for 2:57 AM... until she saw the pics... Had one of the 2-tones in the basket... doggone coin jumped out just before I could check out. thankfully I was able to snag a copper Hope to get one of the 2-tones in a few weeks. Downright FANATABULOUS job there Naomi! And thanks Jim for keeping the server from crashing. You guyz ROCK!
  8. I'd definitely be interested. Even more so if there would be a way to gauge interest in the number of coins to be minted so if a design comes up that, say, 25% of the members are not interested in buying, then they don't have to... the coin just may be a bit more expensive based on minting a smaller number. I think maybe I'd be most interested in signing up for a "members only" finish that is not sold "outside" and where members are limited to how many of this finish they can purchase. That way we could avoid having to get up at 3 am to try to be one of the first "in the door" to buy the latest "super-cool" coin. I'm not an artist, but I do think I do a pretty good job on the Icons... and I'd be more than happy to help out however I can. We're continuing to pray for Tank's recovery and for strength and comfort and endurance for you.
  9. There once was this doc from the stix who made his own coin just for kicks though Groundspeak said "NO" our Forum made it a "GO" and now our outhouse is in Pix

  14. I simply can't wait to hold one of these in my own hands. Marvelous.
  15. In a free market such as ours, anything, including geocoins, are worth whatever the market (ie buyers) are willing to pay for them. Most geocoins are produced in volumes MUCH smaller than most baseball cards with a markedly smaller market. There remains a great deal of volatility in a particular coin's worth. Probably the best way to get a good idea of a coin's current worth is to do an advanced search at E64y for completed auctions for the particular coin you're looking into. caveat emptor
  16. well, like so many others, I'm looking for the 2008 Earth Turtle LEs. The coins I have available are on my TRADER Page... I'd trade two of many for one turtle. You can also get there through My Homepage on my Profile any interest, please let me know... emails through profile preferred, but PMs are okay. I also have several trade-only Kuntry Kashin' available (Ant Copper, satin gold, satin silver, AS, AG) THANKS!
  17. my email was sent within 15 seconds of the site posting the address. Hopefully I'll be one of the lucky ones! Congrats Steph on a successful sale.
  18. yeah, I have heard that it had to do with when Groundspeak originally approved the coin for tracking, or maybe when the tracking codes were purchased, or perhaps when the icon was approved. Maybe one of TPTB can clue me in as I'm sounding rather clueless...
  19. biggie congrats to all! OKAY Gatoulis... everyone here on the forums wants YOU to pick 6 numbers... between 1-60. Just pick 'em and post 'em... let the Lotto do the rest
  20. Gatoulis... you're the new cointest-winner-frequent-flier ! way to go!!!
  21. Oh yeah, the other tradition that the kidz absolutely love is doin' resurrection rolls. here's how they work: Ingredients: * 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough * large marshmallows * Melted butter * Cinnamon * Sugar Directions: * Give each child one triangle shaped section of crescent roll. This represents the tomb. * Each child takes one marshmallow which represents the body of Christ. * Dip the marshmallow in the butter and roll in cinnamon and sugar mixture. This represents the oils and spices the body was anointed with upon burial. * Lay the marshmallow on the dough and carefully wrap it around the marshmallow. * Make sure all seams are pinched together well. (Otherwise the marshmallow will "ooze" out of the seams) * Bake according to package directions. * Cool. * Break open the tomb and the body of Christ is no longer there!! * Celebrate God's love!
  22. well, it might be boring (not) and it might be unique (not), but we do this: after the kids go swimming... then, the next day, this: Today, one of the eggs (filled with $12 in the new "gold" coins) was camo'd & hidden (by me) very well. Coords recorded.... and, after the kids (all 18 of 'em) found all the other eggs, I gave one of the kids my GPSr and told 'em to hunt down the "good stuff". With the GPSr they nailed it in about 10 minutes. I think this will become the new tradition.
  23. How cool for 'ya FB! We stopped using pesticides down here in Florida just in case that was keeping this little one away...
