  1. after seeing one of Thor's Hammers in Black Nickel highlighted with shiny gold, I'd have to recommend that 2tone combo for this one. Can't wait for these to arrive!
  2. This is really COOL! I haven't seen that you can filter by TB before! Just did it... and if you click on the "preview" link, it DOES show the icons! tooooo coooool thanks!!!!!
  3. Feel the Burn is my cache on the Great Wall in China, 7493.7mi from my home coordinates. That's the furthest I've dropped a coin. I'll be back there the last two weeks of July... have several coins and tbs that are to be dropped there. May also place the first cache (I think) in the Gobi Desert... we'll see... that will be nearly 8000 miles from home.
  4. I wish the Dark Knight would visit this cache...GC161GF I think he'd LOVE it!
  5. oh lordy! another mysterious coin to wonder over! can't wait to see a photo... waiting with batted, er, baited breath...
  6. reflux ?? (it's a really bad urology play on words )
  7. Okay, so now for my favorite Mother's Day story: I was 13, suffering from a major case of the "woe is me"s due to all the pimples erupting everywhere... anyway, on Mother's Day, my dear, ever-caring mama decided to share with the family the story of each of our births (horrors: my "girlfriend and her family" was eating Sunday dinner with us...) so Mom says, "Marky, when you were born, you were covered all over with this downy black hair...and skinny as a rail... the nurse whose name was Jamima... and she looked just like the Aunt Jamima on the syrup bottle... laid you on my chest just waggin' her head back and forth and just "tsk-tsk-tsking" and said, "Honey only a Mama could love sumthin' that looks like this child... he looks like a lil' monkey..." ... I thought I would die... and my "girlfriend" and her family, well, they never did come back for dinner again. Well, with a love that only a Mama could offer, she raised me okay I think. We both survived me, and we both appear to have turned out okay. thanks for letting us share. and happy Mother's Day too.
  8. What a HOOT! I was born right near Muncie and spent 'bout all my growing up years there. Graduated High School in '81 right before you visited. But honestly, having spent the first 18 years of my life in Muncie, there's NO WAY I'd sell even part of my body to visit Muncie Thanks for sharing your story... it made my day
  9. uh, I have a niece named Heather. oooh, she's white too. must be my lucky day. I think I even understand her. ...don't think she's hiding any coins. . . . just ignore me... my better half says I'm babbling again. . . . i heard a brook babble before. there was also this (used to be) kid across the street named brook. she got married a month ago. . . .
  10. cool... a sweet one for a sweet one. there's a really gorgeous butterfly "rainforest" here with a waterfall and several of these beautiful fish. It's kinda custom for anyone walking over the little bridge to throw in a few coins. Several times I've seen the Koi pop their heads up almost like they're saying "thanks" ... the museum curators collect the coins periodically to pay admission for underprivileged kids to come visit the "rainforest". It is SO cool. so... congrats Naomi... no one is more deserving of having their day brightened by such a wonderful gift. Here's thanking the gracious gifter for making someone's day
  11. Whoaaa... that is one gorgeous local cacher group coin! almost makes me want to move up North!
  12. very, very pretty. I suspect these will be even more beautiful in-hand. Looking forward to holding them and admiring them up-close-in-person.
  13. I will often drop an email to folks discovering or retrieving one of my travelers. I've often thought it would be really nice if Groundspeak could automatically send a brief email to anyone who discovers a coin or tb rather than retrieving it for movement... just a friendly reminder that they don't have to trade for a traveler. I doubt that this will ever happen as there are some cache "owners" who want cachers to trade tb for tb... coin for coin... in order to keep their caches "stocked" with coins/tbs as this seems to increase traffic on their caches (and they can discover the tbs/coins themselves)... so I'll just keep on sending those emails. I think most cachers are pretty bright folks and catch on pretty quick to the whole coin/tb moving thing.
  14. just got home and thought I'd let you know what I was gonna guess: tried to take a wiz over the electric fence? We actually convinced my little brother to try this when he was 11. . . stooopid stuff boyz do...
  15. a circumcision ... and you took pictures?!? . . . . . the last little guy i circ'd couldn't walk for almost 10 months
  16. Hey Tsun, I'd be happy to save you a BUNCH of trouble and expense of a camera. Just send me one of each coin, I'll photograph them to your heart's content and email you the results. Won't cost you a dime. (I'll even pay the postage ) hey, I'm serious another option is a flatbed scanner. I use an Epson Perfection 4990. The results are amazing. You don't have to worry about lighting. Just lay down the coins (like 20 or more at a time), push the button, and WHAM... you've got incredible high-def images. It's less than $150 at Amazon.com and can do great job scanning photos, negatives, etc. have fun.
