  1. Depends, if your learning how to lick a stamp 14 minutes will probably cover the finer points.
  2. When I catch with a group of friends or with a family member we generally use a "team" stamp. I mention in the on line log the cache log was stamped with "Team Whatever". I would definitely be sending the frog an email to reinstate my wrongfully deleted log if you chose to do that.
  3. Well if you were a premium member the answer is yes. But first you have to answer the question does you linux system see the Etrex 30x as a disk drive? ETA: You can save gpx files from the cache page or as PQ's. These are not OS specific.
  4. CO's have the ability to mark TBs missing. Therefore, they DO have something to do with the maintenance of the list. That said - yeah, what everyone else said. Of course I could take it off the list - after I trudge out to the cache to verify it is missing and all other trackables are present. Do you want to speculate on the probability of that happening? If I took it off the list and it was still there then things would be just as screwed up
  5. Well the logs do point out one thing, that for some strange reason folks believe that the cache owner it totally and completely responsible for the traveler inventory on the cache. News flash - That inventory list is created by Groundspeak and only reflects the care cache finders use to insure the travelers are properly logged in and out. The CO has nothing to do with the creation or maintenance of that list. This CO seems to be a bit more thin skinned about the accuracy of the list than I am. He seems to take it personal and considers it b1tching. I simply ignore it on my caches and the caches I seek, but this is not to say I won't log and move travelers.
  6. Are you sure? I think it was post here once that when they run out of codes they are going to shutdown the game.
  7. Maybe the solution is to quit emailing the newsletter but instead send them via the message center. Then you don't have to worry about comcast.
  8. MapDelorme.gsk. It might not cover the latest edition and I would certainly email the CO and see what his plans or requirements are regarding this new edition. Some stay with the old, some allow you to choose, some ask you to finish the edition you started with and all new seekers go with the new.
  9. So, you're telling me all geocaches hidden on guard rails, in national parks, in electrical boxes.. Should I go on here... . Have ALL been approved by the landowners/ state/highway trans.? Yeah, ok. You can bet your bippy that *any* traditional cache hidden in a national park has permission of the land manager, probably has been verified by the reviewer. Depending on the national forest you can bet the proper permit and permission has been obtained. And depending on the state, any cache in the state park has been properly vetted. Yeah, sure. Okay, go hide a cache in Pt. Edith Wildlife Area or Grizzly Island Wildlife area. Come back when it is approved. It is quite clear you have a lot to learn about the game. This is sad because it is people like you with your attitudes that will put more and more restrictions on the game.

  11. I've noticed the California reviewers, like the Georgia reviewers, are pretty loose when it comes to placing cache on private property. Just be hsppy you don't live in an area where the reviewers do care if the guidelines are followed.
  12. Okay, what about the hide is placed on private property without permission. A direct violation of the guidelines and you had to lie about this when you clicked the check box that you had adequate permission. It's not on private property! Can't you clearly see its on a telephone/electrical pole? If you can't even tell that, how can you see anything about these people that would infringe on their privacy? Also, I said above I HAVE THEIR PERMISSION TO POST THIS VIDEO!!! I know it is on the power pole. That is obvious to the casual observer. That pole pole is owned by the power company. That makes it private property, a very simple concept. I'm willing to bet that you did not ask for permission and I'm willing to bet if you did ask the answer was no. They are pretty touchy about their poles. How does the permission to post the video extend to permission to hide a cache on private property? I'm confused.

  14. What could be better than watching people that were videoed without their knowledge and no doubt without their consent looking for a cache hidden on private property without permission. And then blasted all over the internet for all to see. Not a class act for sure.
  15. No doubt the problem is a mystery final or a multi final or stage causing the problem. You might ask your reviewer for a suggestion.

    Geoache

Or the severs are not in sync.
  17. I had briefly considered using the user data fields, but as you noted, they need to be prefixed with leading zeros. I would also need to allow selecting which data field since I could not assume a given field is available. Making a selection, as I learned on the database selection, can lead to confusion on the part of the user since the concept of a drop down selection in a combo box does not appear to be obvious. Far as display on the GPS units, if the unit is in display closest, then the prefix does not matter, it always displays by sorted distance. Far as I know, this is the only option on a Nuvi. Display by name I believe does sort alphabetically. Again it depends on the user and unit if this is a useable option. Using the usersort field you can export with the %usersort %name format and get the numbers at the beginning. Thanks for sharing.
  18. Which browser & adblocker? I don't see that problem. FireFox 39.0 AdBlockPlus 2.6.9.1
  19. Found the problem. For some reason on the non-beta message center I had to turn off add block for that page. The beta version was not a problem. I use add block on the website to get rid of annoying banners and annoying lists of recently viewed caches.
  20. The new non-beta message center is great! When I bring it up in Firefox I get a completely blank page. Love the use of the white space. Oh, well, the old email system still works. For now.
  21. That's why I always number at 10 times the 'real' number (10 = 1, 20 = 2, etc.) that way I can squeeze in a few extra. Saves having to renumber things so much. The numbers I use correspond to the stop numbers listed on Travis's route. I don't wish to depart from those nuimbers.
  22. Who says a CO can't delete their archive log? My sock just did.
  23. I've done 100 a day several times. It takes an area with good saturation, some planning and an 11 hour day. Piece of cake. Did use a car for the transport. ET and other power trails, 500 a day.
