  1. Don't get hung up on the wording. It would be better stated as: "Each image is checked for size. Images that are less than 600 pixels wide and smaller than 125K-bytes will not be resized. If your image is either wider than 600 pixels or bigger than 125K-bytes, it will be resized or compressed automatically." Each image is analyzed individually. One image does not impact another. OK. Then the wording should be changed so it's clear and accurate. I understand the explanations, but I've had images that are both less than 125K and fewer than 600 pixels wide get resized. So that just added more uncertainty to the situation.
  2. OK, so there's a bug, but my original questions remained unanswered. "If your original image is under 125k or 600 pixels wide, the largest image will not be resized". What is "the largest image"?
  3. "If your original image is under 125k or 600 pixels wide, the largest image will not be resized" This is the confusing statement. The word "largest" implies that there are at least 3 images in consideration. What happens if I upload only one or two images? Is it true, as RJF suggests, that the size of one image doesn't affect the others?
  4. This text is on the image upload page: Some Tips * If your original image is under 125k or 600 pixels wide, the largest image will not be resized. * It doesn't do the best resizing job. Editing your own larger image is preferable. * Final images will always be converted to jpg. What exactly does this mean? I resize my images to less than 125K, but sometimes they are resized by the site any way. When does the site resize and when does it not resize? And if it was resized by the site, can it be un-resized? And are all images in a log resized or just the ones over 125K? What if I delete the image over 125K, will all be resized or is it too late?
  5. I haven't heard anything back from ABC. I'm wondering if ABC thinks we're not radical enough to make a compelling show.
  6. The Econ State Forest is a cool hike with a lot of real caches. Here's one example. Check out the others in the area too...20 miles from downtown Orlando.
  7. I ran into this same problem once when I rented a car...GPS wouldn't pick up signals and I couldn't figure out why. Turns out it was the windshield. I moved my GPS mount over to the far left side of the windshield and it worked just fine. Try that.
  8. For picking up reflective markers the rule is: The brighter the better. With a big bad spotlight you can light up a bunch of reflectors at once. I would still recommend a tactical for walking and searching.
  9. I think we'll sweat a lot more at high noon!
  10. Update: ABC received our tape, reviewed it , liked it, and is now looking for a "match" (or should that be a mismatch?).
  11. My thoughts exactly. I would try to pick an extreme cache that would require excessive sweating, mud, and maybe some wading or bushwacking.
  12. I know surprisingly little about the show...never seen it!
  13. Haven't heard anything since last Saturday. I followed up with an email this morning. We'll see.
  14. The 50K is for the Fox version of the show called Spouse Swap or something like that. ABC provides 20K for Wife Swap.
  15. Oh, and I followed up our audition today with an email to the casting director. To reinforce the geocaching aspect, I sent her some links to some of our more extreme logs and photos (cave exploring, back flips off bridges, etc.).
  16. It's not on cable. It's on broadcast TV - ABC.
  17. Let's hope (and pray) for better fortune this time...Monday 4:40 am landing time.
  18. I'll post it here first if we make it. I can tell you now, if we make it, we're going after a tough, hot, mountain biking cache and we're gonna get muddy and bloody!
  19. NO! I'm not interested in a trade! I like the one I have!
  20. So I’m walking through the Florida mall in Orlando during my lunch hour. On my way out I noticed that there was an ABC booth set up. I walked about 150 feet past it and then decided to go back and check it out. They were signing people up for their Wife Swap show. So I asked the girl about it and she told me what they were doing and she asked if I was married. I told her I was and had three little boys and she got very interested in our family and insisted that I sit down right then and there and fill out an application. She sat beside me as I filled out the application and she asked me a bunch more questions and became enthused about our chances to get on the show. Then she said she wanted me to call my wife and have her come down and audition…right now! So I called up MonkeeWife and gave her the scoop. She was a little skeptical of the whole thing, but eventually got into it. She came down with all three boys and we did our audition. The casting director was interested in two things from our family: Our “boys outnumber girl” situation Our anti-cable-TV, anti-video game, get-off-the-couch-and-go-outside-and-play philosophy What really set her off though was when we told her about geocaching. They thought that would make a compelling show right there: Drag some couch potato, TV-watching, anti-exercise wife out for a mountain biking ride with the boys to find a geocache in the woods during a hot Florida day. I agree, that would make a great show. We’ll find out if we make the cut for the next round within a week. That decision is made by someone up in NY. Either way we had a blast today auditioning.
  21. This is the most ridiculous topic I've ever seen.
  22. Got this one at Totally Rad in Ridgecrest, CA when I dropped a big rock on my finger. Shoulda gone to the ER to get stitched up, but didn't have time.
  23. On behalf of the "community", I say "take that spot"! If/when the owner posts the cache description, the FL approver will say there's already one within 0.1 miles.
