In the past, I geocached alot but find I am lacking the motivation to go out on my own to do so. The 4 legger could also use some exercise. Is there a section on this forum where a day of caching is planned or a hike is planned and people can join in, etc.? Maybe this could be the start of that thread? Looking to cache along the Bruce Trail. Thanks!

Our 60cxs has stopped talking to our pc. But when I plug it in, it beeps and shows on the battery that it is charging. Guess I should take it apart and have a look.

Is anyone else having difficulty with the site in general today? I was earlier on and now I'm trying to create a bookmark listing and it's erroring all over the map. I created a new bookmark listing and when I select a cache to go into that listing, it for some reason sends the cache into an old, archive list of mine. So after trying to fudge with that for a while I gave up and just edited the default list it always seems to be dumping the caches into. Now that I have entered about 50 caches in the list, it won't allow me to visit page two or three. I get the big error page coming up. I try to modify the view to show a list of 50 at a time, and it only brings up 9. I don't know what the problem is but this is very frustrating and unreliable. Thoughts?

After waiting for the new updates to be made on Geocaching.com and after Google Earth had an update for their version 4 I tried today to get this stupid thing working. After discovering that nothing was helping me, I reverted back to version 3 of Google Earth, after unistalling and everything. Lucky me, it still doesn't work. Very very frustrated at this point in time. I'm using the Google Maps selection when searching for caches now. Screw trying to work this out.

Is this confirmed to be a mac issue still? To this day I still haven't been able to make kml files work...it's getting frustrating.

I'm not even at the 'exceeded limit' stage anymore...it just doesn't pull up the kml file period. If it does (after 10 minutes of trying to search - only then do i hit the exceeded limit message) I'm really getting frustrated with this...is it a Google Earth vs. Mac issue or is it just Google Earth itself? I haven't had any time to check if this works on my old machine that ran XP though. Perhaps I'll delete Google Earth and reload? I have no idea....

I'm also on a Mac, 10.4.9 and am encountering the same problems - although I have NEVER got it to work on this macbook before, my but fiance on the other end of the couch with a regular Acer laptop and Vista is able to get GE kml files to work no probs. I have no idea what the issue is, although when at work using Windows XP I have been having KML issues every so often.

I noticed the same thing last night when trying to install the KML file onto my new macbook....apparently I am exceeding the amount of caches viewed....everything works fine on my old desktop with Windows XP, wondering if I have to do something different for my Mac ...and that slider thingy, tilts the world...does nothing for me as far as pulling up cache locations. Any thoughts?

I was just starting to fiddle around with this program. Downloaded everything I need but I'm running into one of the first errors ever mentioned on this forum "Input string was not in correct format." I know it's been a while since any discussion about it, but is it something I'm doing, or something else? (Don't know if living in the Great White North has anything to do with it lol) It's in GPX format, I did all the reloading, updating, restarting etc, but still no juice......help

Holy - are you the anonomous one? That cache is just insane! Our excuse doesn't compare with most of you, however, our more unusual excuse was that the tree was chopped down where the cache was hiding in. It was not in a forest mind you, but a manicured area outside a shopping plaza.

On the topic of Paperless caching. I am going buy a Palm, now is colour screen neccesary? I know 8mgs would be ideal. I am lookin at a M500 or M125 will that do?

I have a 12V cigarette adapter for my XL. It plugs into the USB cable (that comes with the XL) , then powers the unit. It works great. It is a magellan product. I got it when I bought my XL.

This thread has become very informative for someone like me, a total newb for geocaching looking to purchase their first unit. What is Magellans direct competition for this unit?? Right now I'm on the fence based on the opinions expressed for and against the 60cs(x)s. Thanks!
