  1. Hi all, It is time for my annual visit to the Groundspeak forums to ask a question. I hope you guys can help. I have an ETrex20, which I've really enjoyed using over the past year. I used to have a 60Sx, so it has taken a little getting used to! One thing I used to do on my 60Sx was change a bunch of puzzle coords to solutions prior to heading out. I haven't really found a way to do that with the ETrex 20. Is there a way? I suppose I could use software again [i seem to remember that I could do this in GSAK], but I've kinda enjoyed the "no-software" ease of the Etrex (and I'm on an old Mac now, and not a PC). It would also be nice to be able to save stages in a multi-cache on those days when I'm only able to do one or two stages of a 3-4 stage cache. As it is, I'm saving the coord info in a google doc that I access from my husband's "smart" phone. Thanks for any help.
  2. I'm having the same issue. I'm giving up and trying again some other day.
  3. Why does it need to be offline? This is very intriguing. I am not a hard-core c:geo user, but when you are looking at caches not "stored for offline use" you are just accessing the database (similar to being on the website), so the app won't allow you to do a "new waypoint" without storing the cache/cache data on the phone itself.
  4. I have a Garmin 60Cx that I've loved since I bought it 5+ years ago. I've loved its relative accuracy compared to other consumer GPSrs. It is dying, and I'm looking at replacing it. After reading thread upon thread here, I had decided on the Garmin 62 as a replacement, which would get me the accuracy I enjoyed plus the ability to do paperless caching without having to have another device. But I'm also thinking about upgrading my 1st gen iPod Touch to a newer one and getting a bluetooth GPS receiver like this: http://www.amazon.com/Dual-Electronics-XGPS150-Universal-Smartphones/dp/B004M3BICU/ The new iPod Touch plus the puck would be about the same cost as a new 62, with the added benefit that the iPod Touch is useful for other things as well. The "puck" could also be used with my husband's Droid phone. I've tried to use his phone to cache before, and I love c:geo, but the lack of accuracy of the built-in GPS drives me nuts. I just wonder if I would be happy enough with the bluetooth puck to make it worth doing the second option vs. the 62. Can anyone give me any feedback with using these pucks with a smartphone or other device vs. using a handheld GPSr? Thanks for any help! Sincerely, Cacher drowning in technology
  5. Happy New Year! I have been paperless caching for a year+ with a PC and Palm, using the combination of GSAK and Plucker. I recently upgraded to a Mac (running Leopard), and I would like to figure out a similar solution without having to load windows on another partition. I downloaded MacCaching (one version back for stability reasons), which seems to provide most of the GSAK features that I used, except that the html output is not nearly as nice for uploading/using on the Palm. I really like the indexing feature that GSAK provides in its html output -- I can get to the cache information without having to use the find function. Is there any other software I should check out? Thanks for your help.
