<Obnoxiousness> This one time.... I went to a cache..... And all there was there was a photocopy of the cache..... I understand this though, since the cache owner didn't want to risk the $10 for his ammo box, log book, and trinkets. Just kidding of course, but I hope geocaching don't turn into this. </Obnoxiousness> I release real coins (sometimes I drill them) for the 99% of the good people out there. I don't let the 1% ruin the fun of the 99% That is just my opinion. For what it is worth.

I wish they were, The image is an actual picture of the Northern Lights offset printed on to the coin. They look very cool. The picture I took of the coin with my camera is not the greatest. This coin looks much better "in person" The lines in the trees are metal and only the northern lights are offset printed.

Heck maybe both projects if it gets bid up enough. This really is a beautiful coin if you haven't seen it before. The northern lights are awesome!! The entire set sold out in less than a day. More regular edition coins are being minted. Email treasurer@mngca.org to be put on the notification list.

And instead of hiding caches I could just take a picture of a cache, laminate it, and leave it in the woods. That should help the muggle problem too. Wow just think, I would have no problem creating a cache like that with $1,000 in it. Then everyone who found it could go to the bank and tell them that they found $1,000 in the woods, and just have the bank add it to their bank account. And I wouldn't even be out the $1,000 to start with. Sorry to be so facetious but IMHO this is a slippery slope that should not be traveled down.

There are many people I would like to nominate however after going to the MnGCA Breakfast Buddies in Duluth, MN yesterday and seeing Team Petey handing out geocoins I would like to nominate Team Petey. He must have given away 10~20 geocoins. This was a very nice gesture, totally surprising and very much appreciated!!!

Don't sweat it. If any geocacher does an "illegal" activity long enough it becomes blatantly obvious they are the ones doing it. The geocaching community is not that big. We need to police our own when we see others doing something wrong (ie at events or out in the field) We need to talk to them person to person away from the crowd. Not to call them out, but to guide them. Many times it can just be a misunderstanding. If it is bad behavior and enough peers talk to them I don’t think they will stick to geocaching for long.

Hey it is your coin you can write what what you want on it's page. (within reason of course) What good is an activated geocoin that has stollen writen on it's web page outside a cache? You can't sell it you can't show it to your geocaching friends. I guess you can show it to your non geocaching friends..... as long as they don't become geocachers later.

Post the requests here. There is already at least on person on the MnGCA board willing to do that. If I get at least 20 requests for the two tone light mint green coin from either here or at the MnGCA forums I will pay pal invoice the first 20 requests. They are a beautiful coin.

Everything is SOLD OUT except the 20 two tone light mint green. I haven't decided how to sell these yet. I may make another MnGCA fundraiser out of these by selling each of them for $15 each. The additional $5 each would be donated to the MnGCA. Not sure there would be 20 people willing to do that?
