Howa bout Minnnnnesoooooota? For more information about Minnesota http://www.exploreminnesota.com/home.aspx Looks like the Minneapolis Saint Paul Area may have been overlooked. I can pack up some lutefisk and lefse and have it shipped out to the committee if that would help. Ya sure, you betcha, ya know. The Minneapolis/St Paul metro area has many of the same features as Chicago, plus it also has the Mall of America! There are wonderful caches throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin also. Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP), which is a major hub for Northwest Airlines The Minneapolis park system has been called the best-designed, best-financed and best-maintained in America Today 15% of the city is parks and there are 770 square feet (71 m²) of parkland for each resident. Home to the most golfers per capita of any city in the U.S. The state of Minnesota has the nation's highest number of bicyclists, sport fishermen, and snow skiers per capita. Hennepin County has the second-highest number of horses per capita in the U.S. The Public Works Department expanded the bicycle trail system from the Grand Rounds to 56 miles (90 km) of off-street commuter trails including the Midtown Greenway, the Light Rail Trail, Kenilworth Trail, Cedar Lake Trail and the West River Parkway Trail along the Mississippi. Minneapolis ranked the country's second best city in a 2006 Kiplinger's poll of Smart Places to Live and one of the Seven Cool Cities for young professionals The Twin Cities area is considered the capital for the arts in the Upper Midwest. There are more theatre seats per capita than in any other American city, besides New York City. Walker Art Center http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walker_Art_Center Guthrie Theater http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guthrie_Theater Sports Teams Minnesota Twins Major League Baseball Minnesota Vikings National Football League Minnesota Vixen Women's Professional Football League Minnesota Timberwolves National Basketball Association Minnesota Wild National Hockey League Minnesota SwarmNational Lacrosse League Minnesota Lynx Women's National Basketball Association St. Paul Saints Baseball American association Minnesota Thunder Football (soccer) USL First Division Minnesota Ripknees American Basketball Association Minnesota RollerGirls Roller derby Women's Flat Track Derby Association Site of the 2008 Republican National Convention A statue of Mary Tyler Moore downtown on the Nicollet Mall commemorates the 1970s television situation comedy fictionally based in Minneapolis. For more information about Minneapolis St Paul Click here http://www.exploreminnesota.com/regions/tc/index.aspx I would recommend Stillwater, MN just on the fringes of the MSP metro area and a beautiful town. Stillwater MN is a charming town about 20-30 min east of the Minneapolis/St Paul metro. Stillwater is located in the St. Croix valley on the Minnesota Wisconsin border. It is really beautiful country. Plus they have wineries and fly balloons there too. lol Here is a quick blurb from ilovestillwater.com. Explore the beautiful St. Croix Valley from charming Stillwater. Unique shops, galleries and fine restaurants dot our historic downtown. Lowell Park, along the river, and Pioneer Park, on the bluff, offer dramatic views of the river. Visit wineries, take a balloon ride, hit the hiking or biking trails or just relax with a treatment in a spa. Come for the day, or spend the weekend in one of our beautiful bed and breakfasts. You'll be glad you did! If you are interested in knowing more about Stillwater, MN Check out their website. http://www.ilovestillwater.com/index.php Or http://www.exploreminnesota.com/listing.as...829&stchr=c Or http://www.exploreminnesota.com/regions/tc...?EntityID=19529 Here is the climate data for Chaska, MN. Chaska is a suburb of Minneapolis/St Paul. Chaska is approximately the same latitude as Stillwater. http://www.climate-charts.com/Locations/u/...0002114651.html Several people from this area have already contacted me to pitch in and give a hand if this does come to town.

<Obnoxiousness> This one time.... I went to a cache..... And all there was there was a photocopy of the cache..... I understand this though, since the cache owner didn't want to risk the $10 for his ammo box, log book, and trinkets. Just kidding of course, but I hope geocaching don't turn into this. </Obnoxiousness> I release real coins (sometimes I drill them) for the 99% of the good people out there. I don't let the 1% ruin the fun of the 99% That is just my opinion. For what it is worth.

I wish they were, The image is an actual picture of the Northern Lights offset printed on to the coin. They look very cool. The picture I took of the coin with my camera is not the greatest. This coin looks much better "in person" The lines in the trees are metal and only the northern lights are offset printed.

There is one New 2007 MnGCA Limited Edition Trackable Sold Out Geocoin on Ebay right now. http://cgi.ebay.com/2007-MnGCA-Limited-Edi...1QQcmdZViewItem This is actually my coin and I plan to give the profits to the MnGCA to fund their Volunteer pin project or the MnGCA geonickel project depending what the coin goes for. Heck maybe both projects if it gets bid up enough. This really is a beautiful coin if you haven't seen it before. The northern lights are awesome!! The entire set sold out in less than a day. More regular edition coins are being minted. Email treasurer@mngca.org to be put on the notification list.

And instead of hiding caches I could just take a picture of a cache, laminate it, and leave it in the woods. That should help the muggle problem too. Wow just think, I would have no problem creating a cache like that with $1,000 in it. Then everyone who found it could go to the bank and tell them that they found $1,000 in the woods, and just have the bank add it to their bank account. And I wouldn't even be out the $1,000 to start with. Sorry to be so facetious but IMHO this is a slippery slope that should not be traveled down.

There are many people I would like to nominate however after going to the MnGCA Breakfast Buddies in Duluth, MN yesterday and seeing Team Petey handing out geocoins I would like to nominate Team Petey. He must have given away 10~20 geocoins. This was a very nice gesture, totally surprising and very much appreciated!!!

Don't sweat it. If any geocacher does an "illegal" activity long enough it becomes blatantly obvious they are the ones doing it. The geocaching community is not that big. We need to police our own when we see others doing something wrong (ie at events or out in the field) We need to talk to them person to person away from the crowd. Not to call them out, but to guide them. Many times it can just be a misunderstanding. If it is bad behavior and enough peers talk to them I don’t think they will stick to geocaching for long.

Hey it is your coin you can write what what you want on it's page. (within reason of course) What good is an activated geocoin that has stollen writen on it's web page outside a cache? You can't sell it you can't show it to your geocaching friends. I guess you can show it to your non geocaching friends..... as long as they don't become geocachers later.

When my coins go missing I update the coin page. http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=739298 When they are found again I update the coin page again. http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=755440 Hope this helps

On behalf of all Minnesotans, geocachers or not, Thank You for your thoughts and concerns.

Sorry I didn't invoice these yet. The above list is locked in. I lost my kitchen pass this weekend when geocaching was trumped out by the Honeydo list. I was wondering how long I could keep away from that Honeydo list. I will get the invoices out as soon as I can.

Post the requests here. There is already at least on person on the MnGCA board willing to do that. If I get at least 20 requests for the two tone light mint green coin from either here or at the MnGCA forums I will pay pal invoice the first 20 requests. They are a beautiful coin.

Minnesota Geocaching Association (MnGCA) Fundraiser

That sounds like a challenge to me. -
Everything is SOLD OUT except the 20 two tone light mint green. I haven't decided how to sell these yet. I may make another MnGCA fundraiser out of these by selling each of them for $15 each. The additional $5 each would be donated to the MnGCA. Not sure there would be 20 people willing to do that?
