  10. That statement really makes no difference since no caches were 'grandfathered'. If a cache was published 3 minutes before the announcement at 4:00pm PDT last Friday, at 1 minutes after 4, it still would not be allowed to have an ALR. It sounds like there was some other issues with the caches if they were indeed really just Puzzles and not ALRs. Nope, it was the ALR. One of the caches actually published too early and was taken off. Obviously that cache was ok but even that one has not be published again.
  11. I have no problem with rules changing but notice should be given. The word should have been given that starting on x day such and such will not be allowed. That allows for any caches in the que or ready to go to be published. I attended an event this past weekend where the organizer had placed dozens of caches. They had marked them as puzzles so that attendees would be FTF. The reviewer notified the organizer at the last minute that the caches had to be changed. The organizer went to all the trouble to change them all so that they would be ready the next morning. For whatever reason the caches still haven't published (but then that is a whole different topic). I know it must be very disheartening to the organizers after all the work they put into placing and writing up cache pages for this event. The event was GREAT anyway but...
  12. Thank you both so much. I guess I forgot about that site and didn't try that one. I'm going to have to remember that in the future. Thanks again.
  13. I am trying to find the activation code for a Caching in a Winter Wonderland geocoin. I bought this coin on Ebay and it did not come with an activation website. I have tried the standard sites but cannot find a code. Does anyone know who would have the activation code for this coin? This is a 2005 geocoin that I believe was minted by KV coins but I don't see an area to get activation codes on that website. Thanks
  14. I released on that wanted to go to Maramag Philippines. It was picked up by a cacher nearly a year ago and has not been placed since. I've sent a few emails asking them to move it on or send it back to me with no luck. I'm really sad because I requested the bug to honor my nephew who has diabetes. Oh well, I'll keep trying.
  15. I am trying to download right from the cache page. There is the button that says "Send to GPS". Maybe I need to try again since it seems many of you are not having problems. Thanks for the info.
  16. I was wondering if anyone was having trouble downloading waypoints to their GPS on a computer with Windows Vista? We use Windows 2000 at work and I have no problem downloading there. I recently purchased a laptop with Windows Vista and have not been able to download waypoints with that. Are they not compatable or is there something I'm not doing right??? Thanks
  17. What about people that log a virtual find of a virtual cache. We have a cacher in our area that is either looking up locations on the internet and emailing the info to claim a find or they has found a way to time travel. They have been in many states and countries in one day while caching locally the day before and the day after. I don't know how that is possible. I don't feel that those are acceptable finds. I feel you should have to actually visit the location to log a find. Am I wrong???
