  3. I think your mio will struggle with a whole region at a time (i don't know if a memory think) Mine kept locking with all of region 6 but is fine with the smaller "visable portions" I haven't found a way of naming though and keep getting confused as to which is which Fi
  4. As you have just descibed it i would prefer it as several caches, i prefer multis if i can walk to the different stages
  5. In my area most new caches are found by either of 2 local cachers, I think the reason has more to do with the fact that they have already done most of the caches around here and as soon as they see a local cache they will go to it irespective of whether they are first or not. Both are experienced cachers who often iron out teething problems, but whatever cache I go for it is still the first time I have found it, yes it is nice to get to a cache first but it's also horrid if you take the kids out, drive nearly an hour (real local caches don't exsist) start to do a multi end up with a DNF then find out the setters have made a mistake on the cache page . If you really want to give others a chance poitely email the usual ftf's and ask them to wait
  6. I have had simerlar problems with mine, i keep an eye on the distance to go counter to ensure that it is still going down and also recalibraate the compass.
  7. Come to Norwich, it's closer to home and there are 2 unfound caches placed July 06 and A lot newer but still unfound If you solve them please give us a clue
  8. Congratulations to GLOBETROTTER UK for reaching his 250th cache during the East Angular Event 21st April 2007, well done dave Fiona
  9. Just to my twopenneth in could we not have them all working from 1 main forum which splits into regions a bit like Groundspeak splits into countries then if we needed to visit another forum (like advice for hols etc.) we would be able to find it easily That way maybe the work could be split into a few knowlegable people rather that one person trying to do a forum on there own Fiona
  10. We are going to get a warning BEFORE they do the maintenace thing Quote jeremy" When we're about to upgrade the system we'll give you about a day's notice for the downtime. Usually we pick a time in the week where we have the lowest traffic - so we apologize ahead of time to the folks in Europe who usually get impacted the most. However this will hopefully have a huge impact on the current issues improving the experience overall."
  11. Are they splitting us into seperate countries?
  12. As a coin owner I would prefer to see my coins move about rather than be stuck in a cache for too long
  13. Go for the 60cxs I bought mine from an american seller willing to export to uk using ebay.com I found this to be slightly cheaper then ebay.co.uk I had to pay £9.00 VAT plus a handling charge from royal mail (cos they had to pay the £9 for me first) Best purchase i ever made (hasn't stopped the DNF's though )
  14. I did Red Squadron's front garden cache last year but the first time I DNFed it as I wasn't prepared to go into someones garden. It was only later when discussing this cache with another team that I realised it was OK (I was a newbie at the time). Soon I am moving to a nice secluded cottage next to a woodland that I have full use of so I wonder where my next cache might be placed
  15. Well done Mr and Mrs B, I toast to you with tea and biscuits
  16. I personaly have never seen a green or yellow jeep and would like to see either, there are a few about in the uk but not enough to reach Norfolk in East Anglia yet
  17. Last year I release 5 geocoins and 2 TB's so far I have only lost 1 coin through the cache it was in being muggled. All the coins were sent out undrilled but I left them in the plastic wallet and printed out a mission page for them which I tucked into the wallet, I get great enjoyment from peoples logs if they have enjoyed seeing the coins. I also love finding coins in the wild and will thank the owners for releasing them, I saw someones collection boxed up and beautiful and I left them there undiscovered, I like gaining the icons but not through collections. If I see a cash has a nice coin in it I will often travel that little bit further just to see it and move it (in caches I haven't found yet I hasten to add). BUT when I completed my one hundreth cache recently the caching friend who was with me gave me a boxed 100th coin as a gift, this means a lot to me sentimentaly and so far I have been unable to release it. I have another coin (geonut) that I keep in my geocaching rucksack, if you meet me you can discover it I log it into every cache I visit, I do this as I feel it represents my caching name. The most resent purchase that I made I actually bought 2, 1 to release and 1 to keep. If you want to see it travel and let others gain enjoyment from seeing it then release it. If you can't bear to lose it then box it or let it travel wherever you go.
  18. My sister has printed maps from memory map onto waterproof paper using a standard printer though I don't know if it's the same paper manufacturer.
  19. As Sue and Bernie said we found one in the Dereham Ramble, it was a lovely suprise as I hadn't checked the cache page that day before leaving and didn't know that the bunny had been. I took it home for my two little uns Shania and Jasmine to enjoy I'll try and post a piccy of them with it (Best I get them dressed first). Thank you Easter Bunny you have made my childrens Easter

  21. I have emailed them to ask about bulk deliveries for events, and by word they can do this No problem - you might be interested in our new tanker delivery system - we can deploy 1000 litres of GPS Spray in a fine cloud over a large gathering, giving enhanced reception to all. We're still testing it though. It does work, but when it goes wrong, it goes very, very wrong indeed. how cool is that
  22. maybe our mods are being a littleFOOLISHtoday?
  23. it would be better if the link to the "cache page" worked
