  1. What a great surprise I got in the mail today!!! WOW!! I would like to say that today was dark, a mist in the air, there were crows calling me to my mail box...that when I opened the mail I glanced into the distance and saw a shadow person watching me and took off once I noticed him. Yes, I would like to say that but actually today was sunny, the birds are singing, happiness is in the air! Especially after opening this mysterious envelope that had been address to me and sent by me! Thank you Bell Witch, so very much! I will treasure this coin for now on!! bone shaker
  2. Wow, what a cool coin! congrats to all who has had the fortune to have one of these!
  3. I had read about the Cache Reaper and when he posted that he was attending a local event I couldn't wait to meet him! At least maybe he would drop off a coin! I was in charge of the door prizes and I had them all in a large container, pulling out one at a time... at the bottom of the bin was a very nice, evil looking coin.... I knew what this was! But, was it mine? Who placed it in there? I was in charge of the container and I saw no one go near it. I realized that, no it was not mine to keep but to give away to a lucky cacher in attendance. (and everyone there could see the disappointment on my face!) The coin went to a retired couple who were new to caching. They didn't know what a rare coin it was and couldn't understand why everyone was going crazy over it. A few days later we talked to them and they were both very excited about winning the coin and how much it meant to them. So I was glad they got the coin! ( When I first started caching, I found a Geocoin Fairy coin and had no idea what it was... months later I was told how rare it was and lucky to find it!) A few months ago I received notification that the Cache Reaper had visited one of my caches.. a cache that was well over an hour away and located on the edge of one of that area's oldest cemeteies. The location is very close to a well traveled interstate but far enough off the road to be by itself. Unfortunatly I work until pretty late and thought that there would be no way I could get there before someone else to see if he left his calling card. I talked my wife into heading over there just to see if it was possible. We arrived well after dark and the misses said she would wait on me in the car while I checked the cache out. I didn't need a flashlight due to the fact I knew my way to the cache and the moon was full so it lit up the area pretty good. I made my way to the cache and heard my wife walking around a little ways from me (she has a bad tendency to look at tombstones while I look for caches). I had my back to her and could tell she was standing right behind me so I asked her why she was not in the car but she didn't answer me. I grabbed my cache (it is a miniature coffin, with room for small trade items) and there it was!!! I had me a Cache Reaper Coin right in my hand!!! Being warm out, the first thing I noticed was how cold the coin was.. as if it had been in some ice! but no matter, I was so pleased!! By that time I could see her figure in the distance, I yelled for my wife to come and see what I had found but she wandered off past some very old graves (that date from the 1700's) .. I thought, geeze, we will be here all evening... so I walked back to the car to get a flashlight and go look for her..... the only thing was... my wife was sitting in the car! I asked her when did she get back here and she looked at me like I was crazy and said " I have never left the car"..... I don't know who or what was with me, but I can tell you one thing, I will never go back there after dark! When I got home I checked my cache page and the Cache Reaper's log had been deleted. If you want something, make it well known and you just might get it.... but hopefully you won't have the excitement that I did in retrieving it.
  4. A big thanks to all you have done for us, answered questions, offer advice, and tell me on my first cache placement that I was not allowed to have a knife as swag in a container! You are going out on top and will be missed! Now go out there and enjoy life!!
  5. quick help please: I have been loading my Palm using Cachemate. I down load a pocket query, saving it to my downloads. Next I open Cachemate, go to File Converter, then to Cmconvert, then to File, highlight the querys I want to down load hit load file... this is where I am having problems. For the past year I have had no problem but for the past week, it is only downloading the parking and not the cache... I should be downloading 500 waypoints, listing the cache and info, instead it is only coming up with 35 parking waypoints. What in the world did I do wrong???? and can someone straighten me out?? many thanks!!!!
  6. I also leave personal wood coins as well as personalized poker chips.... I hope that cachers would keep them for their collection when they find them.
  7. kk/wfc...or who ever you are..OMG GIVE IT A REST!!!
  8. Well, there ya go. Between heebinator, Konnarock Kid & Marge, that makes three people. Based on past experience, that's all it takes to form a new internet group (something like forming a new church). The next step in the process is for someone to get ticked off and go pull all his/her caches and archive them. The only other thing I'm gonna say is I better not get hit by any flying geocaches when I'm up there later this week. Plus I better not find any "watered down" caches (eeewwwww). Please come caching in our area... you will not find flying caches or watered down caches... the 'watered down cache' is not what everyone is thinking... the cache was located on an island in the middle of a lake... it was wet with nothing more than H20. Again, the folks in the area are the best... there has been a little ill feelings in our group for several months, but it is no different in probably any caching group. There are different sides to every story and not all have been told here on this thread. I care deeply for the people who have replied to this thread and well as the rest of our group. Unless you have heard the facts from all sides then there is no reason for this thread to continue. Come on to the tri-cities... the best people around and more caches of every type than you can count!
  9. again... the tri-cities is a wonderful place!
  10. I am from the mentioned area. If you would come to our area, you will find the most hospitable people around! The statement really hurt me.

  15. I hope someone can help me.. I received 2 coin for my b-day and can not figure out where to get my activatin code, can anyone help? I am not sure of the name of the coins but will describe them: 1: This is the glow in the dark skull and cross bones that says" Aye Mateys You Have Found Me Treasure" 2: this is the bronze Dragon that says "Geocaching dragon ... where on earth are they hiding" and the back has the dragon's prayer I do appreciate it...
  16. I was able to find coin#22 at Myrtle Beach last summer ... I didn't know what it was but I sure am glad to have it now!!! I like the idea to make it into a travel bug to be discovered at events... although, I don't think I could stand to drill a hole in it.. will come up with another way to do so. bone shaker

  20. Sorry about this... I am new at the forums.... I will do my best to figure it out on my own.... again, sorry
  21. OK, I am stumped... can someone help me with this puzzle cache? GC10F1K it goes like this: The coordinates listed are wrong, you must crack the puzzle to get the coordinates. Happy cracking. After cracking the puzzle you will need to find the number that goes with the letter to get the right coordinates. You will need to de-crypt the phrase below to figure out the cords. Line 1: “O, Draconian devil” Line 2: “The oh, lame saint” N: 36 42. L I N W: 081 56. H M O check sum: L+I+N= 22 H+M+O= 11 the hint: wouldn’t Scramble eggs be good with Sudiku.
  22. what's your definition of a "bad" cache?... one that when you pull up to it, you just say " forget it!" I have seen a few... very high muggler area, on a trash can, ...etc. What would it take for you to say, no way!
  23. I would like to place a cache at my favorite place to eat, a funky little cafe. I would like to use the name of this business in the title and tell it's history... the cache would be located across the road from this cafe. My question, would I be allowed to list it or would it be considered a commercial cache? I can reword everything and not do the history and I am pretty sure it would be allowed this way, but I would like to do it my first way if possible. any help?
  24. Hello... this may have been discussed before, so forgive me. What do you do when a cache has been muggled and the owner does not fix it? There are "did not find" posted and several people have e-mailed the owner but get no response. He also has one I found yesterday that is in a light base, yellow jackets are building a huge nest next to it and the log is so wet that it is unsignable. The couple post before me also found the nest but did not mention the wet log... but between his and mine, no one mentioned it. ( I feel everyone should have said something). The next thing that bothers me, and I guess I should just not look for these cache's, is this kid who keeps putting out cache's for no rhyme or reason... putting out micro's at every pay phone, fast food resturant, and lamp post... I do like finding micros if they are taking me someplace interesting or an interesting hide. But this kid hides them where it can be considered disturbing private property, or in such a public place that there is no way you can use the best stealth! An example is one hide at a very busy resturant in front of the windows, under a lamp post between 2 handicap parking spots.... to get this one with out being seen, you would have to park in the handicap spot, which I refuse to do. My point being, I have placed a very few cache's and was questioned about everything I did by the reviewer, so I thought there would be high standards but this kid is putting out hundreds and new ones every day and gets away with it. I no longer down load his because I do not want to feel like a thief when I go looking. Can a reviewer be notified to stop this kid from putting out more senseless hides? There is no way he can keep an eye on all of them if he has that many. thanks for the rant! bone shaker
  25. I am trying to post a new hide and when submitting, I keep getting a error message stating: " cannot insert the value NULL into column 'long_minutes_seconds' table..." I was posting 3 hides, the first went through, I get this message on the 2nd and the 3rd went through.. could the 1st and 2nd be too close together? thanks, bone shaker
