  1. my two cents, I suck at puzzles (and I really mean I suck) and I will try to solve them, but if I need a little help or that I have solved the puzzle correctly... I will email the CO and ask, failing that I Will ask another finder, not everyone is good at puzzles and if a CO didnt reply, I would find them rude, I always help or give them a hint if someone asks on mine

  2. I have had the same issue, and its been a year and I emailed the guy prob 5-6 times finally

they said it was dropped into a cache the next cacher came along and it wasnt there so I think its gone burger

  3. Personal, I would wait for a bit longer, say January or something... Then if it had not re-surfaced, mark it missing, then if you like, you can release the copy tag, one of the various brands of proxy tags, or a home made proxy tag.

Oh I didnt know you could do that

  4. we never go to a cache that has people around it, if someone turns up out of the blue and we get snapped then we will explain what we are doing, but my son (10) knows how to act when grabbing or looking for a cache, as I would be gutted if someone ruined my cache by not taking care around muggles

  5. I spend hours making handmade swag, bangles, keychains etc etc and try to place one in every cache I can, but when you do a run of 50+ a day I run low pretty quick, as I make them while watching a movi I find I cant sit down and watch one without doing something.

we hardly ever take from a cache unless its something different and normally random

  6. I carry the following in my 35L snow camo backpack

    1 x water bladder (1Lt)

    1 x screw driver

    1 x extendable light/magnet

1 x camera thingy (its got a little camera at the end and you turn on the part in your hand to see inside tree trunks etc)

    4 x AA Batteries

    2 x tweezers

1 x lunch box of swag to place in each cache I can

1 x bag of our calling cards

    1 x of gloves

    1 x box of painkillers

1 x small bag of baby wipes

    1 x tissues

    1 x GPS unit

2 x power banks for my smart phone

    1 x mini UV light

10 x small log bags from replacement

10 x paper logs for replacement

    sweets

    2 x pens

    2 x lighters

    1 x pencil

    1 x roll on

I cant think of anything else, and I cart it every time I cache even if its only to get one cache.

  7. I came across this one, and it has put me off going to look for it.

    Found it Found it 25/Aug/2013

We thought this would be a last quick find on our way home from Whanganui, but we were wrong! We walked across the empty paddock and into very thick bush. The track goes near the house of another farmer (his driveway has the cattle stop) and he was NOT happy we were in what he seems to regard as HIS bush, and yes we had picked some tamarillos as they were growing right in the reserve (there are masses of them.) I retreated with my kids as he had a dog going bananas which was scaring them. So half of our group kept going and found the cache, while I got stuck by the road, with my kids, being ranted at by an angry farmer telling me how rude I was not asking permission to go on the reserve. And yes, it is a public reserve owned by the council as stated in the description. I showed him the geocaching listing to try to calm him down, but still got an earful. Thought it was a real shame I wouldn't want to go back as the reserve is fantastic but very overgrown and could do with help maintaining it.
