  1. <Most people don't shell out $30 just to see if they like something> (1) How long do you think it would take to see if you like or dislike something? (2) When the time period is up for #1, if liked...then should that person become a Premium Member...to help support this site?
  2. I also had to use FireFox for it to work.
  3. Looking at the logs now....I see that they originally posted under one name and then changed names. Now, they are moving all their logs to the new name. Maybe they should have requested a Name Change and had it done automatically. For a while there, I thought it might have been old earth signals, bouncing off Asteroids and returning from outer space.....
  4. I had archive some caches back in 2006 when I moved back to Dallas. Yesterday, I received email notifications that people found 2 of those archived caches and the the log date was 10/2006. Here is one. ------------------------------ Location: Wisconsin, United States GeocacherXXX found Lily-1 (Archived) (Traditional Cache) at 10/5/2006 Log Date: 10/5/2006 Found with GeocacherXXX. ------------------------------ Slow Logging? Or could they not log it until now? I got this message just trying to post this Forum Message..... PHP Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 45 seconds exceeded in E:\Inetpub\forums\GC\ips_kernel\class_db_mysql.php on line 457 PHP Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 45 seconds exceeded in E:\Inetpub\forums\GC\sources\ipsclass.php on line 1111
  5. I have 7 out of 9 TB's MIA...No Trace...Presumed Dead. I put Missing TB Posters in Super Markets and Stapled them to Telephone poles. I have filed Missing TB reports with Local Officials...and Interpol. No Ransom Letters...Nothing....Not a Peep. Must Have been real Pros.
  6. I have 7 out of 10 MIA. The other 2 have not moved in 6 months...so who knows if they are still alive. I won't invest in more TB's....and thank goodness I didn't invest $$$ in GeoCoins.
  7. I upgraded my 60CSX to 3.90. Put new Ray-O-Vac Alkaline batteries in, recalibrated the compass and went Geocaching for a number of hours and found 11 out of 15. I did see that it locked on to more Sattelites...but #18 had it's ups and downs....and no "D"'s. Mine has a 2 gig sans card in it with the whole USA loaded on it...and it performed basically as it always does...no hangups, no bad shutdowns...nothing different.
  8. <One can sure burn through a couple of normal Alkaline batteries quickly.> I use plain Old Ray-O-Vac Alkaline batteries...and can go a couple days of geocaching (4-5 hours a day). The batteries only rundown quickly using the back-light...at night.
  9. There appears to be an error with the database. You can try to refresh the page by clicking here. SQL error: Can't create a new thread (errno 12). If you are not out of available memory, you can consult the manual for a possible OS-dependent bug SQL error code: Date: Monday 30th of March 2009 06:14:01 PM --------------------------------------------------- That was clicking on the Forums...but things seem to be working again.
  10. <Off topic, just want to mention that some will appreciate the hint, others prefer to find it themselves. Why not e-mail to ask if they want a better hint instead of giving it to them?> In the email I tell them there is a hint way down at the bottom...and I put a bunch of blank lines in the message to where they would have to scroll down to see it. They don't have to if they don't want...but if they do...the hint is there.
  11. <My money's on, they just looked for your cache to add a number beside their name. > You might have won the money...but, they Looked For My Cache....And That Was The Purpose Of The Cache...someone finding it. If someone wants to write a Thesis...fine. If they just log "Found" or "TNLN"...that is fine. For "ME", just getting an email that someone went to my cache...is the reward of putting it there. And...if someone tried and didn't find it...I usually email them with a better hint.
  12. I'm a Premium Member and None of my caches are Premium Members Only....I'm too lazy to check that box.
  13. <Besides, you are beyond help! > Thank you for that diagnosis....Where do I mail the check?
  14. <As a former graduate-level clinical psychologist/psychotherapist> My wife says I need to see someone like you.
  15. <I have been going pee on a rock outside my backdoor for 4 years now. In another 20 years I should have eroded enough material to place a bison tube in so not violate any rules.> In only 20 years? You must pee a lot or have a wicked PH factor.

    New Error

9:20 PM - Dallas, TX Time Clicked on "Forums" from the main page.... It sat there for a while.... Waiting For Forums.Groundspeak.com... Then... CGI Error The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers.
  17. I don't think it is a slap in the face at all. I'm just glad people come to my caches, if they write a lot fine...if they write TNLN then fine. But they took the time to find my cache...and that was the purpose of me putting it there.
  18. I had to use FireFox to make it work. This was my original post. http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=215789
  19. Check your entries. Mine was off once or twice by one...and then I saw that I had selected "Did Not Find" by accident. Once changed to a "Found It"....Whala, it was accurate again.
  20. <You log them on their own website> That is the reason I never picked up those Path-Tags when they first came out. I see them in caches every now and then...but I never pick them up like TB's. I don't know if it changed but...that is the same reason I never go to Waymaking (?)...I just want to enter everything on one site and have my totals and history on one site.

  22. <define space??> Well, it's...the Final Frontier...where no man has gone before??
  23. <The cube itself will also be mixed up when they find it to increase the difficulty> I'm so mixed up just reading the puzzle idea...
  24. Alright...7:30 Dallas, Texas Time...(Big "D" Time). I logged my 10 caches...the speed seems to be there again.
